Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human Chapter 9
DERRIC: Caiden answers. “The one that was bullied was not the one doing the accusing?” I asked them. “No, it was someone else; we don’t know whether the accuser was a friend or a family member. It wasn’t clarified.” Jayden said. “Do you know if the person who was bullied is still alive? Or in the hospital?” I asked. “No.” They both answered. “Why? It shouldn’t make a difference.” Caiden said. “Oh, but it does. Put it this way: what if Chiara came to me and said that she had proof someone bullied Jace? Jace isn’t here any longer to put forth the claim himself, so she is doing it for him. It would be the same thing.” I tell the boys. I watch their reaction to my words, and I catch a flash of something, but what, I can’t tell.
JAYDEN: “Would you still investigate it? Even though he has been dead for two years now?” I asked Dad. “I would have to, if she had proof. To show the Pack that they can still have trust in their Alpha and their ranked wolves, we must always be open, fair, and transparent.” He says. I look at Caiden. What happened two years ago really was an accident; we didn’t know the girls had spiked his drink with THC, along with him drinking Everclear. If we had, we wouldn’t have gone so hard on him. So, when we started messing with him, his reaction and reflex time were hindered, and we didn’t see the rock embedded in the ground, so when he went down and hit his head on it. We panicked; we didn’t mean to kill him.
CAIDEN: “Mom, you mentioned that Chiara was in the clinic. What exactly happened?” I asked her. “Valen said that she was standing by the stairs at school, with her back to them, no less, talking to her friend, when she lost her balance and went down backwards. I swear that girl has no sense of balance whatsoever.” “She’s lucky she didn’t get seriously hurt. We should go pay our respects to her; help cheer her up.” “That’s a wonderful idea, maybe take her a gift?” “What would you suggest?” “How about a necklace, or a charm bracelet, nothing fancy, mind you, just nice for the Prom/party, for next weekend? She will appreciate that more than flowers, I think.” “Ok, we will go shopping tomorrow, ae brother?” “Sure, we can do that.” “Good, I will accompany you. I have a couple of things I need to get as well.” Mother said. Jayden and I nodded. We headed up to bed shortly after that. We traveled a long way to get home both yesterday and today, and we are tired.
DERRIC: I received a link from the school’s principal. I opened for it. “Hello, Henery, what do you have for me?” “Alpha, there are four other students. Three from the orphanage who have not attended the party/prom, who are eligible.” “Thank you, Henery, keep that list handy, I will want it soon. Currently, I am not in a position to take down any names. And Henry, this stays between us. Understand?!” “Yes, Alpha.” I closed the link. And just watched the scene in front of me. Something is definitely going on between my Luna and the twins.
IESHA: Saturday, after lunch, I headed to the clinic to visit Chiara and get some more homework done, and get her help on my book report. I am not a fan of Dracula by any means, and 500 words? Yuck! I happened to notice the twins were headed in the same direction, so I slowed down. I didn’t want to be anywhere near them. I wonder why they were headed to the clinic, though. Goddess, I hope it’s not to torment Chiara. She will never leave her room if they are going to do that. She was right about one thing: they don’t go anywhere near the orphanage, so I can see why she feels safe there. I keep my distance and follow them into the clinic. Once inside, I go directly to Chi’s room. “The Twins are here.” I whisper to her. “No, No, No! Esha, you have to help me get out of here.” She whispers/screams back to me. But before I can reply, the door opens and in walks the twins.
CHIARA: Before I could start to move to get my things together, the door opened, and the twins came in. SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! I freeze. Now I am in big trouble, and so is the clinic staff. Oh well, I did try to warn them. I looked at the twins. “Jayden, Caiden.” I said, acknowledging their presence in the room. “And how is it that you are in a private room?” Caiden asked. His voice is slightly deeper than Jayden’s. “You would have to ask the clinic staff that question. I just go where I am told to go. I did try to tell them that the Luna wouldn’t like it.” I replied to Caiden, keeping my tone as neutral as possible. “Brother, we did not come here to harass her. She needs to recover so she can attend the prom/party. Remember?” “You are right, brother, I forget myself sometimes.” “If there is something you need, please speak to the staff. I am sure they will discharge me.” Again, I keep my voice low and my tone neutral. “We came to offer our condolences at the fact that you are here. And we brought you a gift.” Jayden says as he hands me a wrapped, slender gift box. Now I am deeply suspicious of them. “Why would you bother?” My voice slightly raised. “To show our concern.” Jayden says. “Aren’t you going to open it?” Caiden asked. I unwrap the box, and inside is a bracelet with both an enameled green leaf and a wolf's head charm on it. “Thank you, both, it’s beautiful.” I say, keeping my voice low and my tone light. “Let me put it on for you.” Caiden says, moving to do just that. “Um, thank you, but I wouldn’t want to lose it in here. I can have Iesha take it to my room for me; she knows where to put it to keep it safe for me.” I say. “We expect you to wear it at the prom/party.” Jayden says. I nod, not trusting my voice, not to crack. When do they expect that you will be getting out?” Caiden asked. “I am unsure.” I lied. “I think the middle of next week, due to how bad the concussion is and all, but again, you can ask the staff, and I’m sure they will tell you.” I replied. But in my head, all I kept thinking was Please leave, please leave. “Should you be doing homework if you have a concussion?” Caiden asked. Looking at my backpack. “It has to get done. Who else would do my homework for me?” I said with a bit of sarcasm. I knew it might set them off, but in this case, I really didn’t care. This whole time, they didn’t even acknowledge Iesha's presents, which I knew she was grateful for, but she too seemed on edge with them in my room.
