Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human Chapter 31
DERRIC: isn’t done about the violence done to the orphans, they want a transfer!” I tell her through clenched teeth. “And why? Because you have some sort of issue with the orphans! And so, yes, right now she is using resources, because you told the kids to do this to her. This is on you, and you will join the kids in their punishment. You will join them in the cells tonight, and when they are doing their other punishment, you will clean every cell until it is spotless.” I tell her and watch her face. “I never told the kids to do anything, Derric, you have to believe me. If they did this, then they did it on their own. I would never tell them to hurt anyone!” She said almost in a panic. After seeing the cold stone look on my face. She asked, “What is their punishment?" “They will each stand a 30-minute vigil until she wakes up, and if she doesn’t wake up, they will get one lash from the silver whip for every scar she has on her body. So, look, Louise, look at all the scars, and most, if not all, are because of you!” I seethed at her. “And the worst part is, she is human, she won’t heal clean, and when she turns 18, she will leave. She may not be able to tell anyone about us directly, but that doesn’t mean she can't tell them how she was treated where she was living, and she will have the proof to show for it. And do her dammed best to make sure we don’t get business in the human world. And that can hurt us more than anything else. So, you see, your prejudices are hurting us.” I told her. And watched as she looked at the posters I had the staff put up.
LOUISE: I know that I did have the kids do some of the things, but I never told them to carve SLUT into her stomach. I blanched at the thought of our boys being scared by the whip. I can’t let him do that. “Derric, you can’t be serious about the silver, that is reserved for interrogations and rogues, you can’t possibly think to use it on our children.” I pleaded. “They would never heal properly from the silver.” I cried to him. “Yes, I know, but what about Chiara’s scars? The doctor told me that pretty much every one of them was made by a silver blade, as if she were a wolf, but she’s not, she is human, she will have these scars on her body for the rest of her life, even if by some chance she were a wolf, she would still carry those scars. Who should be punished for those?” He asked tersely. “I understand, I do, but please don’t use the silver on our children!” I begged him. “You can use the regular leather whip; it will hurt just as much, but at least they won’t be scared forever.” I begged. “It will remain to be seen whether she wakes or not. You had better pray to the goddess; she does wake.” And he held the door for me to leave.
DERRIC: I followed my luna back to the Pack house, where we both went to freshen up for lunch and join the rest of the Pack in the dining hall. I took my place and waited for one of the kitchen staff to bring my plate. I watched intently to catch any interactions between the ranked mates and the luna. I saw Louise’s eyes glaze over, so I knew she was in a link. It’s just who is she linking with, was the question. I looked around the hall to see if I could notice who she might be linking with, but I didn’t see anyone. But then it hit me, the girls are in school. And now that she is back on Pack territory, she can link anyone anywhere. That’s ok, she knows her punishment, and she knows what will happen if Chiara doesn’t wake up. I hope it instills the fear of the goddess in her, knowing that I will punish our children for her part in what happened to Chiara, and she will have to do her punishment as well.
VALEN: It was lunch, and I got a link from the Luna. “Valen, what happened?” “Sorry, Luna, we did what you asked. But the Alpha somehow figured it out. He even said that he would Alpha command witnesses, and Blake was with us; he didn’t participate, but he was there. I wanted to let you know, before you got back, but I don’t have your phone number, and with you off the territory, I couldn’t link you.” “I am sorry, I should have given you my number; put it in your phone now.” I put Luna’s number in my phone as she gave it to me. “Thank you, Luna, I have it now.” “I am sorry, Valen, I never thought he would go this far. I will try my best to get the punishment reduced.” “Thank you, Luna.” She closed the link. “Who were you linking with?” Cassie asked. “The Luna, she’s home, and she wanted to know what happened. I told her that I wanted to let her know, but because I didn’t have her number, I couldn’t call and tell her what she would be walking into, so she gave me her number. And she said that she would try to get the punishment reduced.” I told the girls.
VINCE: 12:30 came, and I left our group to take my turn standing vigil over Chiara. I didn’t hesitate; I just went. I had 30 minutes of solitude to reflect on my part of what we did. I hated it. I was seeing it for what it was now. I got swept up in the adrenaline rush of beating her. And now I was regretting it. How was I going to prove I could be a good Beta for the Pack if I let myself get carried away like that? How was I going to convince her? Salene, please don’t let her die. I would gladly endure the whip; just don’t let her die. I prayed to the goddess.
IESHA: I kept my head down and stayed as far from the Ranked Squad as possible. I sat at our usual table for lunch, but it just wasn’t the same without Chi. I was so scared, it was hard for me to concentrate on school. I know that the Alpha said that they would get punished, but what would their punishment be? A slap on the wrist? Or would they actually get a real punishment this time? I wanted school to be over so I could go see my friend. I wasn’t paying attention, lost in my own thoughts, when I heard a voice behind me. It made my blood run cold. I couldn’t help it; my body visibly shook. “Are you going to the clinic after school today?” Brandi asked. If she saw the shiver, she didn’t comment, nor did she reassure me that I was in no danger.
