Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human Chapter 93
CHAD: Vince said. “That’s only if she doesn’t reject them.” Brandi said. “And all things considered, she would be completely right to do so. Not that I would want that to happen.” Brandi added. “We weren’t in the room with them this morning, but I didn’t get the feeling that she was going to reject them.” I said. “And I fear that my aura may not work on her, because she fears all of us.” I said as we headed to the cafe.
BRANDI: I was looking around as we walked through the area. It was nice, not upscale, but nice, and the little café that we were headed to fit the neighborhood, quiet, quaint, clean. I could see myself actually living in this area, away from the hustle and bustle of the upscale area. “This is nice.” I said as we were walking to the café. “Yeah, quite.” Valen said. We got to the café and walked in. We saw the twins sitting with Chi, and Esha. We were going to go join them, but Chad stopped us. “Let them be, it’s enough that we are here just in case there is trouble. I’m afraid that if we crowd them, Chi might retreat.” “What do you mean?” Valen asked. “This morning, she pushed her wolf forward and refused to talk to the twins. I don’t want that to happen again, so let’s just give them space; that way she won’t be so afraid.” He said. “I would like to meet her wolf.” I said. “After thinking she was human for so long, that has to be a hard pill to swallow.” “But she seems to be handling it well, all things considered.” I added. “I have a feeling there is a story behind that as well, but it will have to wait till later when we can talk to the twins.” Chad said. We all nodded and took seats where we could keep an eye on the table where the twins were. We sent Cassie and Carri up to get our orders. But we stayed quietly watching the twins. It felt surreal knowing that Chi was going to be our Luna, I hope she will be able to accept us. We all have things we need to make up for.
JAYDEN: “Chi, can we get you a gift? Please?” I asked her hopefully. “Why?” she asked. “Because it’s your birthday, and we would like to get you something.” “I don’t think that the Luna would appreciate or approve of it.” She said. “I don’t care what mother would or wouldn’t appreciate or approve of. I want to get you a gift.” I said to her. “We both want to get you a gift. Chi.” Caiden said. We both sat there waiting with bated breath to hear her answer. We watched as her eyes glazed over; she must be talking with Thena. “Fine, I will allow it, but don’t you dare get anything lavish or overly expensive. Because if you do, I will take it back.” She warns us. All we can do is accept it and nod. “We promise.” We both answered her in unison. “I want Esha to come with us.” She stated. “Of course, whatever makes you happy, especially today.” I answered her. “Where would you like to go shopping?” Caiden asked her. “The craft store.” She was quick to answer, and her face lit up. “Ok, the craft store it is.” I said.
CAIDEN: I linked the group that we were going to take her to the craft store to go shopping for her birthday gift. I watched her as we walked by the group's table. She gave a tentative hello to them but kept her head down and tried to keep some distance between her and their table. I hated seeing it, but there was nothing that could be done about it. She feared us, and we did it to ourselves. I hope that we will be able to get past this with her. “So, what are we going to get at the craft store?” I asked her. “I overheard some people talking, and they were talking about a sewing technique that I want to try.” She said. “What kind of sewing technique?” I asked again. “I don’t really know, something between counted cross stitch and embroidery, I think.” She said. “It’s supposed to look like a painting when it’s done right.” She added. “That would be interesting to see.” I said. “Hmm.” She responded. Jayden and I let her lead. The store clerk greeted her by name, as if they were friends. “ We have some new seed beads in.” The clerk told her. “Thanks, but I would like to see the silk threads. Do you have any?” she asked. He pointed her in the direction to find what she asked for. We let her pick the things she wanted, and watched closely for things she stopped to just look at, to get a feel for what things we could get her, for other gifts. I linked the rest of the unit. “I will point at things I want you guys to pick some, and Jayden and I will pay for them later to be delivered to her at the orphanage.” I sent through the link to them. And then I sent it to my brother as well. So, he could pick things that he caught her looking at as well. He nodded and smiled.
CHIARA: I took my time, and I checked prices on everything. I wasn’t going to be accused of being a gold digger; if the thread was too expensive, I didn’t get it. I found something that would work just as well but for less money. But I really wanted to try the technique, and I thought I would use Thena as the subject matter. When I was satisfied with the thread choices, I went to check on the new beads. There were a few that could work, and add some different colors to what I already had. So, I picked them up, too. Then I made my way to the front counter. The total bill was over a hundred dollars. I was crestfallen. I couldn’t do it; it was too expensive. I didn’t realize that silk thread cost as much as it did. I started to go through things, checking the highest-priced items and pulling them, and setting them aside. “What are you doing?” Caiden asked. “It’s too much.” I said. “No, it’s not. It’s your birthday, and we said we were going to buy you a gift, so no, it is not too much.” Caiden said. “I don’t want people to think I’m a gold digger!” I said, annoyed. “Trust us, no one is going to think that.” Jayden said as he placed everything back in the bag. Then he handed the clerk a black credit card. I was going to protest. (“Don’t, please, don’t. I want to see how it turns out.”) Thena said in my head. (“Fine, I won’t this time, but if there is so much as a whisper of me being a gold digger from anyone, I swear they will get every cent of it back with interest.”)
