IESHA: "Are you going to take her word over mine? She hit on Mitch; she’s trying to steal my boyfriend. So, I was going to teach her a lesson and give her a warning to leave my man alone.” Sheree sniffled. “Brandi, what’s your take on what happened?” Jayden asked her. “Pretty much the way Iesha told it.” Brandi said. “Want to explain?” Jayden asked. “Mitch, Trent, and Zane hit on Iesha, Cass, and Carr again today for some reason. I am just surprised that Mia and Reeha over there haven’t started on the twins, but I suppose it’s because they are ranked, and they know they wouldn’t stand a chance against them.” Brandi said. “Sheree, you need to apologize to Iesha. I know that she would not instigate a situation with someone else’s boyfriend. Take it up with Mitch the next time you might smell Iesha on him.” Caiden told her. “And make it genuine.” Jayden added. “What about Valen. She needs to apologize to me.” Sheree whined. “No, actually, she doesn’t; she was sticking up for a pack member that was being ganged up on. She was doing what she was supposed to do, protecting a weaker Pack member.” Jayden said. “That’s not fair.” Sheree whined again. “What’s not fair is you having your friends hold another Pack member so you can beat them.” Caiden said. Anger rising in his voice. “That's hypocritical of you.” Reeha said. Snottily. “We paid for our indiscretions,” said Jayden. “Yeah right.” Sheree said sarcastically. “We all spent every night for a month in the cells for what we did to Chiara! And we are still doing penance with added training every day for the next month!” Caiden gritted out between clenched teeth. “So, I suggest you apologize and do it now, or you will find yourself in the cells every weekend for the next two months. So, no parties for you.” Caiden said, getting in Sheree’s face. I could see her visibly blanch. I don’t feel sorry for her. I’ve been on the receiving end of that look, from twins getting in my face on an occasion or two, with everything they did to Chi over the years. “Guys.” I kept my voice soft and low. “Yes, Iesha?” Jayden answered me. “I don’t really care about getting an apology from Sheree. I just want to go see Chi.” I said. “Are you sure?” “Yes, I'm sure, all I want is her word that she will leave me alone, and to make Mitch leave me alone.” I said. “Ok. You heard her. Sheree, your word, and if you break it, you will end up in the cells at night every night until after graduation. Do I make myself clear to you?” I saw Sheree visibly swallow. “Now! Sheree.” Caiden seethed. “I promise I won’t touch Iesha.” Sheree said. “Not good enough.” Jayden said. “I want to hear that your friends won’t bother her either, or Mitch.” “Mia and Reeha won’t bother her. But I can’t speak for Mitch.” Sheree said. “Ok, fair enough, but if you start anything with Iesha because of Mitch, you will pay the price for breaking your word.” Caiden said. Sheree nodded. “Now break it up, everyone! Go home.” Jayden called out. And everybody left. I picked up my backpack and started toward the clinic. “We will walk with you. Esha.” Caiden said. I wasn’t going to argue with them.

CHIARA: I am getting worried about Esha. Normally, she would be here by now. I don’t have a phone to be able to call her. I was just getting ready to ask Nurse Florance to link her for me. When the door to my room opened and she walked in with the twins behind her. I noticed the bruise on her face. “Oh goddess, Esha, what happened to you?” I asked my voice, just slightly better than It was yesterday, as I went over and hugged her. “I’m ok.” She said. “Just Sheree, because of Mitch.” She said. “Goddess, what is his problem? Is he trying to cause trouble? Using her to do it with?” I just kept throwing the questions out. Not expecting them to get answered, but asking them, nonetheless. I held my friend and comforted her. “Hey, I’m ok, Chi, really.” She said. That is when I actually took note that the twins were there. “Jayden, Caiden, sorry.” I said to them as I let Iesha go and stood facing them with my head down. “It’s ok, Chiara. You can look at us; we aren’t going to hurt you. We walked her here to help keep her safe.” Jayden said. And I looked up at him questioningly. Both the twins were nodding at me. “Thank you for keeping her safe.” I said quietly. “Welcome. How are you doing?” Caiden asked. “I am getting better. I started therapy today to help rebuild my strength and get my voice back. I said, still sounding raspy. “Any word on when you might get out?” Jayden asked. I shook my head no. “Nothing official, I am going to push for getting out before your birthday.” I rasped out. “Ok, just because she started therapy, doesn’t mean she should be a chatty Cathy.” Iesha said. Looking at the twins. “I am grateful for your help today with Sheree and her posse, I am. But that doesn’t mean that I am going to let you go against the Doc’s orders for her not to use her voice.” Esha scolded the twins. I just looked at her. They both chuckled. “It’s ok, Chi, she’s right. Where is your whiteboard?” I pointed to the table behind them. Caiden turned and picked it up and then held it out to me. I stepped forward to take it from him. “What kind of things do they have you doing?” Jayden asked. ‘I walk the square/rectangle 3-4 x, and I have to use the stretch bands 3 x a day, and I have to gargle 3 x a day with salt and lemon water.’ I wrote out for them. And they nodded their understanding. “Don’t push too hard, and just get better. That’s all we want.” Caiden said. I nodded, and they left. I turned to Iesha. ‘What the heck happened at school today?’ “Short version, Mitch took my backpack and walked me to the lunchroom, hugged me, and left me. Then Sheree came at me after school let out, and Valen came to the rescue.” ‘ What?’ “Yeah. Exactly. I wasn’t expecting that either, but it happened, and then the twins showed up. They made Sheree promise to leave me alone, along with Mia and Reeha. I asked for Mitch to be added, but Sheree said she couldn’t speak for Mitch.” ‘But at least she and her posse won’t bother you.’ “That’s not a guarantee, especially if Mitch keeps messing with me.” ‘I know this will be hard, but maybe change up when you go to your locker, so he can’t mess with you.’ “That might stop him in school, but not after school, remember, he was over by my house on temple day.” ‘Yeah, but he was high or something, right?’ “Yeah.” ‘So, if he stays straight, he won’t be coming around you.
