Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human Chapter 7
CHIARA: I overheard some of the younger nurses talking about how they can’t wait for tomorrow night; some of them plan on going to the party that’s planned for the twins. And some are talking about how they wish they could still go to the party/prom, knowing that the twins were going to be there. Because of Valen and the gamma twins, Cassie and Carri. I hate this time of year. They can keep their damn prom/party, after what happened two years ago, I will never go. NURSE BAKER: “Chiara! You shouldn’t be up.” “I needed to use the bathroom.” “You should have used your buzzer.” “I am not completely helpless.” “No, but you are concussed, you could get dizzy and fall, and hit your head again, do you want that?” “No, but I hate that I can’t do anything on my own!” “Let's just get you there so you can use it and get you back to your room.” “Where am I even? I shouldn’t be having a private room, even if it is small. I’m an orphan, and a human to boot, so why the single room?” “The Alpha wanted you monitored, so the best way to do that is under our noses; you are in the staff wing of the clinic.” “Did it get cleared with the Luna?” she asked. Which I found odd, considering I just told her the Alpha wanted her monitored. “No, it wasn’t cleared with the Luna; the Alpha ordered it.” I said. She stayed quiet after that. We got her to the bathroom and back to her room.
CHIARA: When I got back to my room, they brought another IV for me. I watched as they hooked it up. I didn’t say anything, and they gave me another sedative. So, I wouldn’t be able to do any more homework even if I wanted to. I drifted off to sleep. {*Chi, look, I found this in the parking lot in front of the second-hand store. Someone must have dropped it. You can make another one of your bracelets from this, and even have some beads left over.” “That’s pretty, Jace, but we should check with the store first. I don’t want us to get into trouble with someone thinking we stole it.” “I found it, finders’ keepers, losers’ weepers.” “You are silly.” “No, I’m not, if you can get two bracelets out of this, then that’s twice the money for us.” “I will see what I can come up with.”*} I start awake. That was when I was 13, he was 15. I look down to make sure that my braided bracelet is still there. And breathe a sigh when I see it still on my wrist. Some people would say that I’m being morbid, but that bracelet is braided from Jace’s hair. I pulled a handful of it from his head after I found him dead. I still have nightmares of that night, finding him in the woods, blood all over his new shirt that he got for the Prom/party. And I remember poor Donna getting beaten up and put in the clinic. I will never forget that night. Goddess, I hate this time of year. Iesha showed up with the day's assignments. “The twins are home.” She says. “Good for the twins.” I say. “You should get rid of that knife. I bet you could get at least $20 for it, then you could get a dress for the party/prom.” She says, completely changing the subject. “I am not getting rid of that knife. I found it and gave it to him. I’m not about to get rid of it.” “Chi, Jace is dead, you have to move on from that.” “I have. I’m not moping, I’m not dressed in black, I’m not in tears constantly. What more can I do?” “Not keep all his stuff.” “I don’t have all his stuff. I wasn’t able to get all of it. And I am not about to give up what I do have.” “But Chi, you could get a really nice dress.” “I don’t want a nice dress. I’m not going. I’m human; the Ranked squad will come after me for sure. I want to make it to 18, I want to get out. I will then go find what family he did have and let them know he is dead. For real, not just a maybe.” “You know that you will have to be careful what you say and to whom you say it.” “I know. But to let them know that their family members are dead isn’t against the rules. I just have to find them.”
IESHA: “I wish you would stay.” “Esha, I adore you, but you know as well as I that if I were to stay, they would eventually end up killing me. If not the ranked squad, then the Luna herself. She definitely isn’t going to let a human live peacefully in HER pack.” “I will miss my best friend.” I say to her. “You’ll be 18 after graduation, you will be able to find your mate, and maybe get the hell out as well. But I will keep in touch.” She says. “I hope so.” “I have faith you will, and I promise.” “Let's get our homework done. I can’t be here all night.” “I know.”
TARA: I don’t know who these two are, but they are being disrespectful to the Alpha and Luna. “Alpha?” “Yes?” “Sorry to disturb you again, sir, it’s Tara.” “Yes, Tara, what can I do for you?” “It’s the same girls, sir, they are being disrespectful of both you and the Luna, the one that’s human says that she isn’t going to the party/prom, and she says that she is going to try to find someone by the name of Jace’s family, and let them know that he is dead. Not just maybe, but actually. I just thought you should know, sir.” “Thank you, Tara. I will take care of it.” “Yes, sir.” I close the link. Jace, Jace, I remember hearing that name. He died two years ago. It was right around this time. It was a tragic accident, they say he got hold of 100 proof Everclear, got drunk, after just one drink, he stumbled and fell, and cracked his head open. It was sad; He was so young. I think I will go and monitor the prom/ party, maybe I can help keep the alcohol away from the humans. They can’t handle it.
CHIARA: We worked on our assignments, and Esha helped me with my flash cards, so that I could take the test on Monday, that is, if I could get out. I hope I can. Esha left right before they served dinner. I was shocked to see that it was venison stew; we never get that. When nurse Florence came in, I asked her about it. “Since when do patients get venison?” “Since it is in honor of the twins being home.” She said. “What would happen if I refused?” I asked her. “Why would you do that?” “Because I do not want to be accused of taking something that wasn’t meant for me.” I tell her.
