CHAD: The guys nodded, and the girls went their own way. I led the way back to the clinic.

IESHA: I stayed until the dinner hour, reading and talking to her. But then I had to go. I blew out the candles and left the book on the bedside stand. “I will come back tomorrow and pick up our story. Please, Chi, don’t leave me.” I said to her. I squeezed her hand lightly and left. ‘Goddess, please, I don’t think I am as strong as she is, I don’t think I can handle losing her.’ I prayed to the goddess on the way home.

CAIDEN: The minute we opened the door, we smelled the lingering scent of the melted wax and the scent of Ocean Breeze. It was nice, subtle, along with the warm wax. \[I don’t like the smell of the wax.\] Axel, my wolf stated. I ignored him.  I walked over to the candles to see how long they had been out. The wax was still warm to the touch, but solid. I thought that seeing her in the clinic before was bad. I hate seeing her like this, like there is no life in her. I hate that more than anything else. I look around the room at all the posters that Father had the staff put up. I could walk through her life by the scars we left on her. Most were at Mother’s behest. But some were just us, doing what we thought would please mother. I just shake my head at that realization. I hated it.

JAYDEN: \[I like the smell of the ocean in here. But not the wax.\] \[I know what you mean, Steel. We will see if we can find the plugins with it in. It will be better for her.\] He harrumphs and recedes to the back of my mind. I noticed my twin looking at the posters. I follow suit. I had not realized we had caused her this much pain. It’s a lot when we are confronted with it. And knowing that we did most of it because of our mother. I feel sick to my stomach. I walk over to her bedside. “We are sorry, Chi. Honest, we are. I know the girls may not be, but we are. Just give us a chance to prove it to you.” I whispered to her. I squeezed her hand lightly.

VINCE: As I entered Chiara’s room, it felt too small for all of us to be in here. I think that the posters made it feel smaller than it actually was. But I get it. They were up to make us understand what we did to her. Right now, I am feeling pretty small and helpless. I don’t want her to die. I want to apologize and let her know that no matter what, we will no longer be doing the Luna’s bidding to hurt her. Or at least us guys won’t. And I swear by the goddess that I will help protect her. My Alphas come first. It's my job to protect them, so they can protect and lead the pack. It’s the gamma’s job to protect the Luna, so she can help nurture the pack, mother them. Not that our Luna does much mothering. Then our mates. but after them, I swear I will protect her. And if my mate doesn’t like her, I will still protect her.

CHAD: I stood at the foot of her bed, I watched her face, she seemed to be at peace wherever she was. I just wanted her to come back. I need to apologize to her; I needed her to know, to hear the sincerity of it. To believe it. And if she truly wanted to leave the pack after she turned 18, I would do everything in my power to make that happen for her. So, she would know how truly sorry I was. I saw the book on the side table, and I moved to look at what book it was. Dracula? “I did not know she liked Dracula.” I said to the guys. As I looked around at them. They all had blank looks on their faces. It seems they didn’t know either.

CAIDEN: “Iesha will probably be here a lot until she wakes up. We need to make sure the girls leave her alone.” I tell the guys. They nod in understanding. “We don’t need more trouble stemming from the girls’ causing issues with her.” I said. Again, they nodded. “It’s time we should head back for dinner. Mother should be coming home later tonight or sometime tomorrow.” I said to the guys. And we left for the Pack house. We walked back in silence, each of us alone with our own thoughts.

VALEN: I don’t care what the guys said; I am going to warn the Luna. She has a right to know that we are all in trouble with the Alpha. After dinner, I talk with the girls. “I am going to go wait down by the gate, out of sight of the gate guard, but where I will be able to catch the luna when she comes in, so I can warn her.” I said to the girls. “We may have a while to wait, though.” Carri said. “Yeah, we don’t know what time she planned on coming home; it may not be until tomorrow.” Cassie added. “And we will be in the cells starting tomorrow night, and we all have school tomorrow.” Brandi added. “Well, let's grab what we need from our homework and head down there anyway, just in case she does come home before we have to go to the cells.” I said. We all went to our respective homes, grabbed the homework we needed to finish, and then headed to the front gate.

IESHA: I went back to the clinic after dinner was over. I wanted to make sure Chi was ok. I smelt the rank squad, it was only the guys though. I was shaking when I pushed her door open. Whew, they’re gone. I relit the candles and took my spot by her bed, and started reading to her again. I stayed with her until visiting hours were over. And I made my way to the orphanage to check if she had any homework that would need to be turned in. Sure enough, it was out on her bedside stand. She had everything labeled. I picked it all up and headed home.

JAYDEN: We looked for the girls after dinner was over, but couldn’t find them. So I linked Valen. “Valen, where are you?” “With the girls doing our homework. What do you need?” “You know that Iesha will be visiting Chiara a lot. We, as in Caiden and I, need to know that you will leave her alone when she is there. And that means all of you girls.” I tell her. “Don’t worry, we know better. We know that it will cause more trouble for us with the Alpha if we do anything to  *anybody right now.”* She answers back. “Good, I just want to make sure we are on the same page with that.” “We are.” I closed the link.
