CHIARA: Once he was arm's length from me, he held out his hand to me. “Chad made breakfast. Come eat.” Jayden said. I stood on my own. I couldn’t bring myself to take his hand, not yet anyway, but he stayed beside me, with his hand on the small of my back, guiding me to the kitchenette. I could feel the tingles even through my shirt. “You don’t have to worry about us, we are going to finish getting the things you need, and we are going to get you some more food.” Caiden said. “I can’t afford any more things right now.” I told them. “You don’t have to worry about that, ok, doc said no exertion for the next two days. So, Jayden and I will be looking after you.” Caiden said again.I went and sat down to eat. I wasn’t going to argue about the food, but I was not going to let them just go off willy-nilly and buy some overpriced, overstuffed furniture, and then be accused of being a gold digger, or worse, a kept woman. “I don’t need a babysitter.” I said. “Apparently, you do. Doc said he told you not to push, and you didn’t listen.” Jayden said. “I had to get my things here. How else was I supposed to do that?” I asked between bites of breakfast. “This is good, by the  way, thank you, Chad.” I said. “Welcome Luna.” He answered. “I am not the LUNA.” I stressed to all of them. “Your mother would not appreciate the fact that the next Beta and Gamma are calling ME Luna.” I said, looking at both Jayden and Caiden. “Let’s get something straight right now! A- You are our Luna because you are our mate. B- It doesn’t matter what the hell Mother thinks; we are not going to reject you. We are stronger with our goddess-given mate. C- You should have called us to help you move. We are your mates. We are not crazy about the fact that you are here by yourself, but we understand the need, but do not think for a second that we will not be taking care of you, as you deserve as our luna.” Caiden said, and he was pissed. I jumped in my chair and shrank back from him. I hunched my shoulders and put my head down, and closed my eyes, waiting for the blow to land. Nothing happened. Wait, What? Why? Usually, when they get pissed, and I’m around, I get the brunt of their anger. Then I felt the tingles. Caiden came over to me, picked me up from the chair, and carried me back to the bed. I was crying. DAMN IT. “Chi, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you. But you are our luna, Jayden, and I will always look after you, we will always love you, and take care of you. I know we have a lot to make up for, and we will, I promise you that. But please, when you say things like you're not our luna, it hurts, almost like a rejection. I did not mean to yell at you.” He said as he sat down on the bed and rocked me. Then Jayden came over and sat next to Caiden, and started to rub circles on my back. To help calm me. “You can’t go buying up a whole store of furniture, it won’t fit.” I said. And I actually felt myself drifting back to sleep under their ministrations.

CAIDEN: I truly did not mean to yell at her and scare her. But she needed to understand that when she says those things, it does hurt, like a rejection. I just had to chuckle at her last comment before she fell back to sleep. I was both shocked and pleased. Even though she reacted the way she did when I raised my voice, she is truly starting to recognize that we are not going to purposely, physically hurt her. Or I hope it’s actually her, I know that Thena is there to help, even though she said she wouldn’t help us, as long as she helps Chi to understand the mate bond and that we couldn’t hurt her without hurting ourselves, I’ll take it. I went to take a shower after she fell back to sleep. When I came out. We discussed where to go to finish getting her what she needed for her place here. Vince brought up the whole closeout/ discontinued/ scratch and dent issue. It sounded like a win-win situation to me, Jayden agreed, so that’s where they went. I stayed back with Chi and kept my phone on so that we could do FaceTime while they were at the furniture store. I didn’t want her waking up and being alone right now.

LOUISE: I know the boys didn’t come home last night. I also know that they were with that little human bitch of theirs. That’s ok, let them spend as much time with her now as they want, because if my plan works, they won’t be spending any time with her after the mating ball. I heard back from Rolan’s chemist, and he said that my shipment should be ready by the middle of next week. Which is good, because I intend to send a bottle to every acceptable potential Luna invited as a gift, to be worn for the mate ball. And if my plan works, Rolan will be out, and that bitch won’t be anywhere near the ball. I decide to take a walk around the Pack, to work on my plan without the possibility of too many disruptions or distractions. Without my realizing it, I find myself at the back side of the orphanage. I see they have a built-in fire pit. Seeing it solidifies my plan. I can’t help but grin. I just have to find the right batch of kids to pull this off. I smile and head back the way I came. I only have to wait until the graduation to set everything in motion. Oh, I can’t wait. I found myself back behind the Packhouse, and I was walking straight for the woods. I don’t know why, but something was pulling me in this direction. Then I remembered, the old bunker was back here. We stopped using it when Derric updated the Packhouse with the safety rooms. This day just keeps getting better and better. I walked over to the door of the bunker and tried it, just to see if it still opened. It did. It is camouflaged, so if you don’t know it’s there, you won’t see it. I went down inside to investigate it and found several cans of food still here, enough to last a month, and a case of water. There was a toilet and sink behind a curtain and an area that could be blocked off for a cell, or to hold a prisoner. Yes. I smiled to myself and made my way back out.                 

HAYLEY: I don’t know why, but I am still here, even though I don’t really want to be, for some reason, Louise insists that I stay and help her with the graduation
