DERRIC: not used to being called Luna yet. I smiled. And so did the boys. “Now that everybody is here, Chi, please, tell us what happened last night.” I say to her. “I promised Iesha that I would be there for her first shift, and I told her we could go for a run. So, we let Thena and Deena have their head, take the lead, so to speak. They were having fun playing when everything went quiet. The next thing I knew, we were surrounded by rogues. I reached out to Esha. I told her that our wolves know how to fight even if we don’t, so don’t interfere with them and let them do their thing. They killed 3, and then everybody showed up, and you know the rest.” She said. “How is it that your wolves know how to fight?” I asked. “The goddess made sure that the pups that were under my care knew how to fight.” She answered. “What do you mean by under your care?” I asked her. “When I was in my coma, I was with the goddess; she put me in charge of a small group of pups. Mine and Esha’s, I knew, from that time, so I knew they could fight.” She said. I nodded my understanding then. 

CHIARA: Although they were including me in this conversation, I still felt somewhat of an outsider being in here with all of them. Then Jayden spoke up. “Mom let Rolan out of the cells last night when we were all on the hunt for the rogues.” He said. “Shit!” Vince cussed. “Exactly.” Caiden replied. “Now what are we going to do? We can’t put him on trial if we don’t have him.” Chad said. “We will get him back into custody before the Mate Ball. I promise.” The Alpha said. I turned to look at Chad. “If you hurt my best friend, in any way, shape, or form, I will let Thena beat the crap out of you!” I said. “And she can do it too, seeing as she is a Beta and goddess kissed!” I said. Then she receded to her space in the back of my mind. “Umm Thank you, all, but I need to get back to my apartment, if I could get my clothes from last night, and one of you could take me?” I asked the room at large. “You know you don’t have to go, Chi.” Jayden said. “I do, I still need rest, according to the doctor, and I start my job on Thursday.” I said. “What job?” the Alpha asked me. “I found a shipping/receiving position in a small boutique a couple of blocks from where I moved to. It’s not a lot, but it’s a start, and the manager said I could showcase my stuff.” “How many days a week will you be working?” He asked me. “3. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays until I get the all clear from the doc, then I will be able to do more.” I tell him. “You will still be at graduation? Right?” Caiden asked. “I should be, unless I didn’t pass my tests.” I said. “You still haven’t heard?” The Alpha asked. “No, Sir, I have not.” I tell him. I watch as his eyes glaze over. While he is linking whomever he is linking, I turn to the twins. “I was supposed to turn in my book report today. I would appreciate it if you would take me home so I can retrieve it and then take me to the school so I can get it turned in.” I tell the twins. “Of course, we will do that for you.” “Thank you.” I say.
