Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human Chapter 20
DERRIC: I said. “I am going to make them stay in the cells for every night she is in the coma, and if she dies, they will all receive a silver lash for every scar she has on her body. And my Luna will join them in their punishment, as she sanctioned everything that they did.” I told them what I planned to give as punishment. The men nodded, the women were stoic; they knew it had to happen, even though they wanted to plead for their children, they understood. I ushered them out of the room. And headed back to the front doors. “When will their punishment start?” Misha asked. “The day after tomorrow. I plan on making every single one of them come in here and look at her, so they can reflect on what they did.” I say to them. “I do not want any of you saying anything to them; let them think they got away with it.” I said. As we reached the front doors, I bid them all good night. Each of them went to their respective homes. I went to the orphanage. I knocked on the front door. And waited for someone to answer my knock. “Who’s there?” I heard a soft female voice. “It’s Alpha Derric. I know it’s late, but I have news.” I called through the door. heard footsteps on the other side of the door, and the curtain moved slightly. I saw the face of a woman who looked to be in her early to mid-30s. Then the bolt moved in the lock, and she opened the door. “Alpha, how may I help you?” She asked. I smiled at her. “Do you run the orphanage?” I asked. “I do. Please come in.” “May I ask your name?” I asked her as I stepped through the door. “I am Blair Deveroe.” She answered. “Ah, yes, Miss Blair. I am sorry for the lateness of the hour, but as I said, I have news.” “What is it?” “Chiara was found severely beaten earlier tonight; she is in the clinic in a coma.” “Oh goddess! She said this was going to happen. Even without the dress.” I reached out to steady the poor woman. “I am sorry that I had to be the bearer of bad news, but what do you mean, even without the dress?” I asked her. “I’m sorry, Alpha, but the orphans get bullied in this pack. It’s bad enough that they gave the biggest sacrifice of all, but then to get bullied on top of that loss, it’s shameful. But two years ago, when that poor boy Jace died, another orphan ended up in the clinic severely beaten as well.” “Is she still here?” “Yes.” “Do you think she will talk to me?” “She may, all we can do is ask.” I nod my head. “Come, follow me.” And she led me into the sitting room and waved at the couch. I took a seat and waited. Miss Blair went upstairs, and I heard a knock on a door. I heard a door open and hushed voices. Then Miss Blair came back with a she-wolf that looked to be maybe a year or two older than Chiara. I stood as they entered the room. “Please sit, Alpha.” Miss Blair said. “Alpha, this is Donna Hass.” “Hello, Donna.” I greeted her. “A-A-Alpha.” She stuttered a bit. “How can I help you?” “Miss Blair said that you were severely beaten two years ago?” “Yes, Alpha.” “Please tell me about that, don’t leave any detail out. I promise nothing will happen to you. I will protect you.” I told her. “Even from your Luna?” she questioned. “Yes, even from her.” I said. I watched as the girl shuddered, took a deep breath, and started to speak. It was very low at first. But her voice got stronger as she got into her story. “It was Wednesday before the Party/Prom, and I had received a gift, it was a plain white box, the size of a man’s shirt box, only deeper. There was no card attached, nothing to say who it was from. I opened it and thought that I had won the lottery. Inside was a beautiful green dress and matching shoes. I couldn’t wait to wear it. It fit me perfectly. I wore it to the prom party, and halfway through the night, Valen and the Gamma twins came up to me and said they wanted me to come and party with them in the clearing. So, I went. I thought that they really wanted me to party with them. I woke up the next day in the clinic and could hardly breathe or move.” She told me her story. “Thank you, I am sorry that you had to go through that, but I promise they will be punished.” I said. “Do you know? Did Chiara get the same gift as you?” I asked the question. “Yes, Alpha, she did, but she refused to wear it. She actually burnt it.” She said with a chuckle. “She had me link Iesha to come over, and we went to the backyard fire pit, and she burned the dress, shoes, and the box they came in. Iesha was a little sad that she burned them, but Chi refused to wear them.” Donna stated. “Again, Donna, thank you for telling me. And I am very sorry that you had to go through that.” I said. “The worst part, Alpha, is I don’t even know what I did that got the Luna upset with me.” She said with tears in her eyes. I nodded at her statement; it’s all I could do. Louise’s prejudices are ruining this Pack. I need to put a stop to it.
LOUISE: I make myself scarce on the night of the Prom/Party. That way, if anything should come up, I am off the pack’s territory and can’t be blamed for anything. This year I am spending it with my little sister. She is having a meltdown because the guy she has had her eye on hooked up with another she-wolf, and I needed to talk her down so that she doesn’t lose her head over it. I just wish she would find her mate so that I don’t have to keep dealing with her childish tantrums all the time. Mother always calls me to deal with her. She just needs to grow up. And since I am here, I might as well go visit my little brother, making it a family affair.
BLAKE: I am so relieved when the dance ended, I couldn’t wait to get away from them. They sickened me. And they acted like it was no big deal, that they just about killed two people. And just left them. They probably wouldn’t have died; their wolves would have healed them, but still. It was sickening to watch. I wasn’t sure when I needed to report to the Alpha about what happened, but I just knew that I really didn’t want to be anywhere around my cousins right now. I needed to take a walk, clear my head. “Hey Chad?” “Yeah?” “I need to take a walk or go for a swim. Is the Pool open?”
