Werewolf
Falling in love with my Ex's Alpha Chapter 104
"I'm going to miss Char so much," I say, wiping the tears from my eyes.
I still can't believe she just went to Three Tree. Dustin wanted to come and pick her up in person, but she thought it would be quicker for her to just go there.
Knowing my brother, I'm sure he's already halfway to meeting her.
She moved with tears in her eyes as she said goodbye to Jay. She hugged me and Jake before driving off toward her future.
After saying goodbye to her, we went home. Now, Jake, Jay and I are in the kitchen. Jay is still very sad, which is new because I've never seen him like this.
He only managed to hide his emotions until Char's car turned the corner, then he was all downcast.
Jake is making Jay a drink while I'm sitting at the table with him.
"She's going to be a great Luna," Jake says as he washes his hand in the sink.
Jay nods, still looking at the floor. "Why don't you come live with us?" I ask out of the blue.
This captures his attention, and he immediately looks at me and then at Jake. "What?" he asks, still in disbelief.
"Yeah, I mean... Now that Char doesn't live here anymore, you're going to live alone," I try to convince him. Still, he and Jake are looking at me without believing what I'm saying, "well, it's not like it's something new, you kind of already live with us," I say, and this makes them both smile and relax their shoulders a little.
"You can't be serious," Jay says, but I see hope in his eyes.
"I'm serious. I love having you around, and now that you guys marked each other, I think there's no point in living apart," I say and Jake looks at me like I've grown two heads.
"We haven't talked about this yet," Jay says, this time looking at Jake.
"What do you think, Jake?" I ask. I know I'm putting pressure on Jake, but I know him; every now and then, he needs a little push to move forward.
Jake blushes from face to neck. I see Jay smirk at his reaction, "we don't need to do that right now... We can wait more..." Jay says softly.
Jake looks at him and me, and eventually says firmly to him. "Stay."
Jake doesn't say more, but that's enough for Jay. Jay gets up happily and goes over to him, and hugs him. I look at the two of them and smile.
At that moment, I realize that maybe they haven't stopped to talk about it yet, and I pressured and rushed everything.
Maybe they might have wanted to live alone, just the two of them, and somehow they ended up living together with me, because I just rushed everything and couldn't keep my mouth shut.
Regret starts filling my head. What should I do now?
*Ugh, Katie, why did you have to open your mouth?!*
When Jay comes towards me to also hug me, he notices the change in my face, even though I'm trying to hide it. "What happened? You don't want me to come live here?"
Jake turns off the stove and comes towards me to better hear my answer. I swallow dry and look at the two of them back and forth before confessing, "maybe I'm the one who should move..."
"No!" The two respond in unison.
I'm shocked by their reaction, but I continue. "You two have already marked each other; I know you will eventually move in together. I feel like I'm invading—"
"I'm going to stop you right there, little Luna," Jay interrupts me with a hand in front of me. Again, I've never seen him serious like this.
And Jake adds, "I'm not going to let you leave and live alone. Are you crazy?"
"But you—"
"Do not even think about it!" Jay shouts at me.
I open my mouth to retort, but I look at the two of them and see that I clearly lost this battle, "Yes, dads," I say with a pout.
They both laugh, making me laugh too.
Jake goes back to the stove and continues doing what he was doing before. Jay gets up to go help him, but Jake stops him, "I'll take care of it," he says and gives Jay a kiss on the shoulder.
They are so cute together!
Jay smiles and then goes to the bathroom in Jake's room.
When Jay closes the door to Jake's room, Jake runs over to where I am and hugs me tightly, making me giggle. "Thanks!"
I give him a wink. I knew he just needed a little push.
What was supposed to be just a cup of tea became almost breakfast because Chad arrived out of nowhere with a bag full of goodies from my favourite bakery.
I am not expecting his visit, but I am glad he came.
While we eat, I miss Kaiden, and I just keep thinking about our date tonight. There are a few hours left, and I can't wait.
"I'm not very good at cooking, but I like cleaning," Jay says with a huge smile.
"Don't worry, I usually cook here; sometimes Jake cooks, but I'm almost always the one who cooks," I say excitedly. I can't believe he's going to come live with us.
"Katie's food is delicious. You'll start to crave it!" Jake says excitedly, too. I can see this working.
"Why are you talking like that?" Chad asks confused.
"Well, now that Char has moved in with her mate, I asked Jake to live with us," I explain.
Chad looks at the three of us as if he doesn't believe it, and after he seems to assimilate what I said, he opens a smile, "that's great! I want to live with you too!" he says.
"What?" Jake and Jay ask at the same time. I freeze without knowing what to say.
"Well, I assume you two will live in the same room, Katie has her room, and there's one room left, I could live with you, too," he says.
In fact, we have a room that we generally use when someone from our pack comes to visit us, or we use it as storage for things that we don't use that often.
But basically, the room is empty.
Silence hangs in the air, and I look at Jake and Jay to see what they're going to say.
"But don't you live with your aunt?" Jay asks.
"Yes, but she's almost always traveling, I kind of live alone. I always wanted to live with you, and now that you're going to live here..." Chad explains, losing the sparkle in his eyes as he looks at Jake and Jay's reaction.
I feel terrible because I remember when we were dating, he said the same thing, he always wanted to live with Char and Jay, and he told me how alone he felt. But coming to live with us is another level.
"We can go to Elite Training together," Chad says in Jake's direction, "I don't cook very well, but I will make sure I always stop by the bakery," he gives me a shy smile that I can't resist, and I smile back.
He looks into the eyes of the three of us back and forth and asks hopefully, "So... What do you say?"
