Werewolf
Falling in love with my Ex's Alpha Chapter 50
***Kaiden***
As soon as she said she was worried about me and her heart skipped a beat, a surge of boldness overcame me. Fueled by a mix of emotions and attraction. In a daring move, bridging the distance between us, I lowered my head sharply and leaned closer to her. Suddenly, when I realized my hand was already grabbing her face and bringing it closer to me, with my lips kissing her lips.
The world seemed to fade away as our lips met again, a gentle collision that sent sparks coursing through my veins.
Our kiss conveyed emotions that words alone could never capture.
For a brief, suspended moment, time stood still.
As she pulled apart, a mixture of anticipation, uncertainty, and hope hung in my heart. I can feel Troy contemplating this moment; I can feel how much he wants to be with our mate, and I understand him.
Despite the noise of celebration from everyone around us for our kiss, silence enveloped us, punctuated only by the sound of our breaths. My eyes met hers, searching for any sign of reciprocation.
Does she feel our bond the way I do? Or did this kiss mean nothing to her?
It was inexplicable the feeling that was when I hugged her. I don't hug anyone, I don't remember the last time I was hugged. But with her, it was something that felt so natural, almost like an obligation for my own well-being.
The aroma she emanates resembles a breath of fresh air, alleviating all my concerns and tension. It has a calming effect on my mind and nerves, providing solace to my spirit and gently embracing my heart with a soothing touch.
With a soft smile playing on her pink lips, she spoke with a surprised tone, "Well, good luck..." Then, Chad approached the two of us.
It's time to go.
She waved at him, and to me, she made a weird sign with her hands. She put her thumb over her index finger. I didn't understand what it meant, but from her pink face, it looked like it meant something.
I could feel everyone around me happy and surprised to see her doing this, everyone started to leave and wave goodbye to her. I got in my car without understanding anything.
Now, it's time to focus on the battle.
I need to win this first round, whatever the cost.

"Do you know what Katie did with her hand when we left?" I asked Chad two hours later as I was driving
Since we left our pack, he's been silent. I think he's still upset about the kiss I gave Katie.
"You don't know what it means?" he asked, looking at the road, he's sitting in the passenger seat.
"Clearly, I don't know. Otherwise, I wouldn't be asking you," I said impatiently.
"It means a heart!" he said gruffly, and I was confused because the gesture didn't look like a heart.
"Really?" I questioned.
He mimicked what she did and ran his finger over the other fingers in the shape of a heart and said. "Like this," and then I could see the heart shape he was trying to explain.
I cracked an involuntary smile. She made a heart for me... that means something, right? Or was she faking it, too?
"I get it. No need to show me your heart, I like you too," I teased him, and he chuckled and rolled his eyes, mumbling a *fuck you*.
At least the atmosphere was less tense, I was already getting worried.
After another hour, we arrived at the place, and there were already some people waiting. We are inside a forest in Crescent Moon territory. As soon as I got out of the car, I could identify several alphas waiting. Apparently, I was the last one to arrive. Which is funny because the pack is literally my neighbor.
I hope to finish this round soon because the full moon is coming, and when it arrives, well... I need to be in a safe place so I don't kill anyone abruptly. I have just over a week until I turn into an out-of-control beast.
"Come closer, everyone. I'll explain how the first round will work," the old Wylder said as everyone approached.
"As you already know, each round was created by one or more members of the Royal Council. The first round will be very simple: Whoever kills the most rogues will win," everyone made sounds of surprise, but he continued. "Each Alpha will be given someone to oversee if the people being killed are really rogues who are assassins or bandits. No innocents who have gone rogue and need help will be counted as an option. As you know, every rogue stinks, it's not hard to know who a rogue is. An innocent rogue needs a lot of effort to know that he or she is a rogue, so any attack with these unassisted people will not be counted, on the contrary, it will deduct 10 rogues from the Alpha in question," he paused a little for everyone to assimilate what he was saying, when he heard a lot of murmuring he shouted, "Silence! I've not finished yet. This test was created by one of our older members of the Royal Council, the former Luna Helena," he said as he gave her a slight bow.
She returned his bow and said in a firm voice, "I created this round to give justice to all the people who have ever been killed by rogues," everyone clapped and cheered, and she continued, "I lost all my sons in one rogue's attack, my mate gave his life to save me, and on behalf of my family that was savagely killed, I declare war on all rogue assassins. They are a scum and menace to our species. They are a virus that needs to be exterminated," she concluded, and everyone applauded even more. The wrinkles on her face managed to become more evident with the wicked smile she gave at the crowd's reaction.
Don't worry, former Luna Helena, I share the same thirst for revenge.
"You have one week to bring as many rogues as possible to the Crescent Moon pack," Wylder spoke again, interrupting everyone's enthusiasm and making everyone fall silent. "The cut-off time will be at noon. All bodies must be here for us to check and evaluate correctly," he paused and then continued in a firmer voice, "Don't forget, the bottom three finishers will be out of the tournament!"
With those motivational words, one by one, all the Alphas started to leave with a deadly aura. Everyone is ready to kill in order not to be in last place.
I would never guess that the first test would be to kill as many motherfuckers rogues as possible. This round is going to be easy, I'm going to do it not just because it's in the competition but because I want to. I like to see rogues die, I enjoy seeing them suffer.
They deserve no mercy, they only bring destruction.
It will be a test week, I will honor my parents this week. I know they are in the grave waiting for me to win this test. That's why they created me, to be a killing machine.
With no obstacles in front of me, nothing will stop me!
I brought a small team with me, only half the limit amount the Royal Council allowed. I don't need more wolves, I know my warriors, they are strong, and I am above all.
I'll show the rogues what the hell really is.
Nothing can stop me, I'm the strongest motherfucker here.
