“No!” I say firmly, shaking my head and index finger at him at the same time. “I am not!”

I can’t be pregnant!

What the hell?

I didn’t even finish doing everything I planned! My parents don’t even know Nox!

Tyra celebrates in my mind, talking to Khai and confirming to him that I am indeed pregnant.

“Princess, hey, I’m here,” Nox hugs me. He places a hand behind my head, and I rest my face on his chest, listening to his racing heartbeat.

He seems calm, and he is trying to calm me down, but I can feel how scared Nox is.

“That can’t be right!”

“But it is, Princess,” he says in a sweet voice.

I feel tears start to roll down my face. I’ve had sex with Nige several times before without taking any potion to avoid getting pregnant, and nothing has ever happened to me.

Why is this happening to me right now?

Nox releases the hug; still kneeling, he lifts my shirt and kisses my ripped abs.

I still don’t show any signs of pregnancy, but after Tyra confirmed that I am pregnant, I can no longer deny it.

He looks at me with a sweet smile. Seeing the dimples in his cheeks somehow calms me down. He uses his two huge hands to dry the tears from each of my cheeks.

“I know you’re scared, but I’m here, okay?” he says, smiling, holding my face gently with his hands.

I give a long sigh as I focus on his bright smile. *Goddess, I’d say yes to pretty much anything for that smile.*

Since the gestation period for werewolves usually lasts five months, at least until the baby is born, we will have full support from our pack members because they will already be here by then.

I take two more deep breaths. “Oh my Goddess! I’m pregnant!”

I rest my hands on his broad shoulders, and his smile widens. “Prince, we’re going to have a puppy!”

I throw myself on him, hugging his neck. Prince falls back with me on top of him. “Yes,” he says, chuckling as he tightens our hug.

He seems to hesitate thoughtfully for a moment, but he gets up with me in his arms and then puts me back in the chair. “Eat your pancakes,” he says, and I obey because his pancakes are delicious.

With every bite I take, he peppers my face with soft kisses.

My Prince is the best fated mate ever.

I hate him!

Nox annoyed me during the whole day! I couldn’t do almost anything because he insisted that now that I’m pregnant, I need to be more careful and rest.

He went to work with Letum, and he mindlinked me every fucking hour to ask me how I was doing or if I needed anything.

After arguing with him via mindlink, I went to the three trees.

I always feel at peace there.

However, I only visited the three trees when the sun was just about to set. The summer was scorching, and the sunbeams were harsh and intense, making it impossible to stay there during the day.

Of course, I would never say he’s right, but I really need to take more care of myself now that I’m carrying our baby.

After the sun set, I returned home. Nox met me halfway; he had already taken a shower. His smell calmed me immediately, but I continued with a frown and arms crossed, walking towards our house.

He’s not my boss for bossing me around.

I almost tripped on the ground, but I kept walking, him behind me. “Alexa, stop! You’re going to end up hurting yourself! So stubborn!” he speaks firmly to me.

I look at him, scared by the firmness of his voice, and suddenly, my eyes fill with tears. His eyes soften immediately, but it is too late; I am already crying.

“You yelled at me!” I say, feeling extremely stupid for crying over something so silly.

“Aw, come here, darling,” Prince catches up to me and picks me up bridal style. I rest my head on his shoulder.

I let out a sob, my voice shaking, but I managed to tell him, “I don’t know why I’m crying like this!”

“It’s the pregnancy. It’s okay, I’m here, I’ve got you,” Prince says, walking with me in his firm arms.

He’s so sweet that I melt, crying even more.

“Back off,” I hear Letum say aggressively to the only other person besides me and my mate who is here — Rose.

With our hands intertwined, Nox and I enter the house where Letum is eating lunch, and Rose, next to him, is almost sitting on his lap.

Just like Nox, I frown at her.

What’s going on here? I look at Letum without understanding anything.

“Letum, I saw you helping Dana with her nightmares... You could sleep with me tonight,” Rose says, ignoring Letum’s request to back off.

“The answer is the same as last night when you broke into my fucking room,” Letum says, getting up and sitting on the other side of the table.

I growl at Rose, “What did you do?”

She looks at me with her mouth open and shows her neck in submission. “Nothing, Alpha, I swear!”

Almost three weeks have passed since Nige and Dana traveled. They must already be arriving here. I’m sure they are making more stops than when we traveled alone.

“Don’t touch him,” Nox tells Rose firmly. I let go of his hand, and I sit next to Letum.

“Yes, Apha,” Rose says and runs to her room.

I snort. “I’m hungry,” I say, looking at Nox. “Our puppy wants to eat those pancakes you made the other day,” I say, stroking my belly. In almost a month, my pregnant belly looks as big as if it were already two months along.

“The puppy?” Letum says, smiling, shaking his head. Clearly, he didn’t buy my shit.

Nox let out a low, rumbling laugh that traveled straight to my clit.

Fucking hell.

I try to ignore my horny body.

“Yeah,” I say, shooting daggers at Letum.

When we told him that I was pregnant, he was so happy. I hope my parents and the pack members are as happy as he is with our new heir when they find out.

I start to run my hand through my chest, near my heart, as I anxiously wait for Nox to make his delicious chocolate pancakes.

“What is wrong?” Letum asks.

Nox crosses his arms over his chest, pushing up his already insanely huge biceps. He looks at me, waiting for my answer.

“I don’t know... Maybe it’s the pregnancy, but I’ve had a heartache since this morning,” I say.

Nox comes up to me and kisses me on the forehead. “I can feel it too... Maybe it’s because of our mate bond,” he says worriedly. Nox has been sad since he woke up, but he tried to mask it for me, which didn’t work out very well because I could still feel everything he felt through our mate bond.

I don’t know what happened to him. I started to feel that way a while later, and now I don’t know if the feeling of sadness is mine or his.

However, Nox doesn’t look like he isn’t feeling anything; he’s serene as always, avoiding making me worry as much as he can.

A few minutes later, Nox places a plate with pancakes and another one with salad in front of me.

After I complained a lot that I didn’t want to eat the fucking salad, he won the argument again with his adorable puppy eyes, and I ate it all to keep our baby healthy.

I’m never going to tell him, but the fucking salad was delicious with the dressing. Yet, I don’t think I was able to hide it with all my moans while I ate the food, so I guess he noticed anyway.

Nox continues chatting and laughing with Letum. They seem like close brothers. Occasionally, I’m taken aback to hear Letum speak, as he’s usually not one to talk much.

But my mate is a total chatterbox. He can’t keep quiet for that long.

Out of nowhere, Nox stiffens next to me, and I’m immediately on alert. “What is wrong?” I ask him, apprehensive.

“I smell blood!” Nox says, abruptly getting up from the chair and heading towards the front of the house.

Letum and I follow him next, “Stay inside, Princess,” Nox says, but it’s too late; I’m already running past him toward the source of the blood scent to find out who’s bleeding.

Suddenly, I see Nige’s figure staggering towards us. He falls to the ground as if he lacks the strength to continue.

Goddess, help me!

“NIGE!” I scream.

Nox, Letum, and I ran to where he fell. His body is bloody with several deep cuts. I can smell poison mixed with blood on his body. What the fuck happened, for Goddess’ sake?

“Nige, what happened? Nige!” I kneel on the ground and immediately place one hand on his heart to heal the wounds on his body, and the other hand I place protectively on my baby bump.

Nige opens his eyes as I feel some of his wounds closing due to my gift. Nox is on my side with a hand on my shoulder, and Letum is standing on the other side of Nige.

My heart sinks as Nige raises his right hand, revealing what he’s holding.

Clutched in his grasp is Dana’s bloody bracelet, the one Letum made for her.

“NO!” Letum screams desperately in pain after Nige says between whimpers of pain that everyone is dead.
