After I reluctantly accepted the contract with Katie, Chad prepared the contract and spoke with her. I didn't even know I was so nervous about her answer until he told me that she had accepted.

Of course, she accepted! It's a once-in-a-lifetime damn opportunity for that little human. It's obvious that she only accepted it to be able to enjoy my status and power. She will definitely ask for money in return, even though she is apparently rich. I know her type: greedy!

The day of the meeting finally arrived, the stupid mate bond was making me anxious to see her again, I knew she had arrived at the packhouse not by the sound of the car but by the sweet smell of her. The closer she got, the more the smell grew. Troy was already going crazy, wanting to run to her and not let go anymore. I used all my strength to sit in my chair, if I get up, I don't know if I can control my body.

She entered the room shyly. So you're going to pretend you're shy now?

She accepted the contract, so she is not shy. Her acceptance of pretending to be who she is not already tells me that she has no problem pretending anything.

Jason got up and ran over to her and Jacob, according to idiot Chad, Jacob is like a brother to her, she could be faking it too.

When Jason hugged her, I had to control myself even more from growling at him.

I tried to control myself as they shook hands, I tried to think how happy Jason actually was to see Jake, his mate. When he told me that Jacob was his mate, I was very surprised, but I was even more because he didn't care that he was a man. Jason has always let his wolf side take over, so kind of denying his mate bond would be against everything he is.

They finally decided to sit down, and that made me really angry. Obviously, you expect the Beta and Gamma to sit on each side of the Alpha, but these two idiots sat all to one side, I glared at Jason.

'Sit now by my side!' I said by mind-link to Jason, He got up upset and sat on my right side. Apparently, this idiot can't stay a minute away from his mate.

Chad started talking about the contract, he asked Katie a few questions if she was okay with everything, and she just said yes to everything. Like I said, greedy! I avoided looking at her the entire time because I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to control Troy, especially her being so close and her scent so strong.

I couldn't even pay attention to everything Chad was saying until Jacob objected.

"Well, that sucks," Jacob said.

"What did you say?" I asked him and saw that finally, Katie looked at me, but then she looked away to Jacob, it looked like she was surprised by his interruption too.

"It's very funny how you're going to use Katie to get yourself assigned, you're not going to mark her, and once the tournament is over, you're going to dismiss her as if she doesn't matter. And worse, if you win the tournament, she'll still be known to have been rejected." Jacob answered me with a challenging look, if he was a member of my pack, he would be punished immediately. But as I know I need this contract, I can't do that. Not now. Not yet.

"What did you say?" I screamed and slammed my hand on the table.

Who does this idiot think he is to talk like that? I increased my Alpha aura, and he quickly looked away. Even though he wasn't from my pack he couldn't face my Alpha power.

"Are you suggesting they get together for real?" Chad asked, he was pissed too.

"Of course not, but I think that when this is over, Katie will suffer some consequences. To help get through this, you can say that she has given up," he stated more calmly and continued, "because it's going to be difficult until she completes her studies here in the pack, everyone will look at her with indifference. When this is over, you have to make sure she can finish her studies with ease," he said. It's not much for what I'm asking her, but at least he didn't ask her for a job at the hospital.

"It's fair. You can add it to the contract," I said, and I noticed that she relaxed her shoulders, but she got tense again.

"I... I would like to add something," she said quietly, looking at the contract and avoiding eye contact. I knew she wanted something in return.

"What is it?" Jason asked.

"During this contract, I don't want you to date anyone, at least not publicly," she said. The impertinence of this girl! Who does she think she is to tell me what to do?

Jason and Chad smiled. These two bastards know that I don't date anyone, so this request of hers is kind of unnecessary, but I'm not going to give her the pleasure of telling her.

"But who's already dating here is you. Don't you think I would have that right too?" I teased, controlling myself not to laugh. She blushed immediately and closed her eyes, and then opened them again.

"I'm just asking you not to publicize your... Hm... Dating. I hope it's kept private like my relationship with Chad," she said and turned to Chad with a smile when she said his name.

My blood rushed to my head, and a wave of anger quickly surged through my body to see her smiling that way at Chad and avoiding meeting my eyes during the whole meeting.

"You can put that in the contract too," I yelled, and she looked startled at me by my scream and then looked back at the contract.

At least she stopped smiling at Chad.
