Falling in love with my Ex's Alpha Chapter 229: Book 2 - Chapter 62

“You are...” I say, not truly believing what I’m seeing.

He has to be Tristan!

Tristan looks so fucking much like my mother. He looks nothing like Nox or me.

How fucking far into the future are we?

Fuck!

Nox seems to snap out of his stupor when Tristan hugs him along with the woman with dark red hair next to him, who appears to be Tristan’s mate.

“Who are you?” he asks gently, still confused as he holds Nox tight.

I remain where I am, in disbelief. This is so crazy!

Some people talk around us, but I can’t pay attention to anything besides my son.

My son — who is old enough to be my grandfather!

However, he doesn’t look his age because werewolves only start to have wrinkles and gray hair around 150 years of age.

When Tristan lets go of Nox, I run to him and hug him. “Oh, Tristan!” I say, tears falling from my eyes and wetting his clothes. He’s my height. He hugs me back, having no idea who I am. And then, Nox hugs us together.

“Who is she?” I hear someone whispering.

“I don’t know, is she a distant relative?” someone else responds.

“Can we go somewhere to talk alone?” I say without letting go of the hug. I’m not ready to release my puppy yet.

The last time I saw him, he was just a chubby baby. He had just been born.

I missed his entire childhood. No! I’m not going to let him go now!

“You can go to the living room next door,” someone responds.

“I don’t want to leave Sandy’s side,” I say, hugging my son tighter.

His mate looks at me with kind eyes before turning and talking to everyone. “Let them breathe! Vick, go get Chad. Jude, you and the Omegas are going to continue with the preparations for Katie’s party.”

“Shouldn’t we call and let them know Nox is here?” Jude asks.

“I’ll call her, don’t worry! Now, go!” she says, and everyone starts to leave the living room.

Each person who leaves touches my mate’s back and says how happy they are to have him back.

“Nox?” Tristan says under Nox, and mine’s embrace.

“I think we should sit down,” Nox says, looking at me.

“Here, sit here. I assume the one lying on the sofa is Sandy. Well, you can sit next to her, honey.” Tristan’s mate holds my hand and guides me to the spot after I reluctantly release my son. “Here, eat this cupcake.”

I pick it up and start devouring it. I am so hungry!

They look at me curiously.

Nox sits next to me, and they sit in the armchairs facing us. Nox clears his throat as if gathering composure before starting.

“Well, this is Alexa,” he holds my hand and gives me a smile.

Tristan looks me up and down. “You... You look so much like my grandfather...” Fulfillment seems to happen for him and his mate at the same time as they both gasp. “It can not be!” Tristan says.

I nod with tears in my eyes. “Yes,” I say, and he rushes out of the armchair and kneels in front of me before hugging me.

His mate starts crying, too. “How?” she asks.

“For that, I will have to wait for my parents to be here because the story is quite long. But you can know that, yes, this is Alexa. She is your mother,” Nox says firmly to Tristan.

Then he looks at me. “That’s my grandmother Emma.”

“Hi,” I tell her with a smile. Then, I remember something that makes my heart beat faster. “Wait, where are my parents?”

Tristan hugs me tighter. “I’m sorry... They died before the protective barrier.”

“Protective barrier?” I ask, turning to Nox.

“Again, this is a long story, and we all need to be together to tell you,” Nox says.

Tristan gets up and returns to sit next to Emma. She holds his hand with one hand, and they wipe away the tears with their free hands.

“I’m sorry about them,” Nox says, holding my hand. I look at the ground and nod.

Fuck! Does this mean I will never see my parents again?

They died! But they were alive one hour ago!

I can’t believe that was the last hug I gave them...

“They always take great care of me.” My eyes lift, and I look at Tristan. “They said you disappeared out of nowhere after you gave birth to me. Where have you been all these years? Why are you so... young?”

“Wait, Letum!” I turn to Nox sharply. “Where is he? Is he alive?”

All the three of them look at each other. “He was an excellent warrior. He died defending our territory before the protective barrier.” Emma explains with sadness in her eyes.

Nox had already given me a tidbit of information about them, but I didn’t want to believe it...

Hopelessly, I ask in a small voice, looking at the three of them. “Kyrie?”

“Kyrie?” Tristan says excitedly, “Do you know her?”

“Yes!” I respond with a smile. “Is she alive? Where is she?”

“Yes, she is!” Emma responds. “I’ll ask one of the Omegas to go get her!”

“No, wait!” I say. “She must be what? Over eighty years old?”

“Almost,” Nox responds, turning his head to the side.

“Maybe it’s better if I go to her. I don’t want to bother her!”

Emma and Tristan smile, “Okay,” Emma says.

“I know you have many questions, but Alexa has been suffering a lot lately. She needs to get some rest first. Is that okay?”

Tristan seems unpleasant with Nox’s request, but they nod in agreement. “Okay,” he says with his head down.

I get up, go to him, and hug him again. “I’m here now. I’m not going to disappear,” I say sharply because I feel how distressed he is, as if I’m going to disappear again at any moment.

Emma smiles at me, and Tristan says in a broken voice, “Okay,” he hugs me tighter. “But I don’t know if I can call you ‘Mom’ yet. You’re the same age as Nox.”

“Yes, you will call me Mom, Tristan,” I move my head back to look at him. “The last time I saw you you were a chubby baby. I suffered too much during your birth. Don’t you dare not to call me from Mom now!”

Emma and Tristan start laughing. Her laugh reminds me a little of Nox’s.

But Nox doesn’t laugh. I wonder if he’s remembering all the pain I felt literally hours ago.

“Nox, you can go to your room; it’s clean. The Omegas always keep it tidy. We’ve all been waiting for you to appear again,” Emma wipes away her tears.

Nox goes to her and hugs his grandmother. “Thanks, Gramma,” he says and kisses her forehead.

“Alexa, you can use the room next to him—”

“No!” I answer. “I’ll stay with Nox!”

My body almost starts to shake in fear of my Prince going away from me.

“But, wait... I thought she was your fated mate, Nox,” Emma asks, pointing at Sandy.

“No!” Nox responds immediately.

“Why does Alexa want to be with you?”

They both look at the mark I made on Nox, then at me, and then at each other, and they both seem to reach the same realization.

Emma gasps with her hands over her mouth, and Tristan sits back down in the armchair. “That’s impossible!” Tristan says. “Nox?”

“Pop, we should wait for Mom and Dad,” Nox says firmly, leaving no room for argument in a fatherly way.

Again, Tristan reluctantly nods.

“Come on, Princess.” Nox holds my hand, and Tristan and Emma look at him with wide eyes.

But now I worry about another thing. “I don’t want to leave Sandy’s side,” I tell him. And then I turn to both of them, “She’s my Protector!”

They look at her instantly, but it’s Emma who says it. “I’ll take care of her, don’t worry, hush! You can go!” Emma says, waving her hand in front of us to hurry us up.

“Okay,” I nod.

I can feel the Omegas wanting to hug and fuss Nox again, but they don’t come here in the living room; they continue doing what Emma commanded them.

Nox guides me to the second floor of the packhouse. It looks bigger than the one we built. When we arrive at the room that appears to be his, Nox closes the door behind us while I am in awe at everything around us.

Then he hugs me. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell everyone about you. I thought it would be better for my parents to know first. Because I don’t know if they’ll want everyone to know what happened.”

“Okay,” I say sincerely. “But they better stop hugging you!”

“Don’t worry! When they find out that you are my fated mate, they will exchange me for you!” he chuckles, and I shake my head.

I doubt it. I’m not a social butterfly like him. I kind of like the idea of them fussing me, though.

After Nox released the hug, he ran me a bath. I look at him in surprise. “Why so many bubbles?”

Wow! What a large and luxurious bathroom! The bathtub comfortably accommodates us both, and we are both quite tall.

I take off my clothes quickly and get into the bathtub, and then he does the same. Prince begins to clean me up, seeming to check my body for any injuries.

When we finish the shower, we dry off. There was some type of oil in that water because now my skin feels remarkably soft and smells good. He chose the same scent as the soap scent I usually used — verbena. I was happy for the familiar smell.

I see a cozy, massive bed with many deep, squishy pillows in the bedroom, and I fling myself face-down onto it, thanking the Goddess aloud.

Honestly, I don’t know how I was still standing. Nox was right, I need to rest!

But I’m not going to tell him that because his ego is already being fucking boosted by everyone around us.

Nox kisses my forehead, and I don’t even wait for him to lie down next to me — I just black out.

Yet, I hope that when I wake up, Nox and my son will still be here.

🐺 🐺 🐺

I haven’t even opened my eyes, yet a smile spread across my face because of the feeling of having my Prince hugging me from behind.

I remove his arms around me without waking him before getting out of bed.

I just had the best rest I’ve had in months. This is the most comfortable bed in the world! The fresh white linen is so soft and clean but still has my mate’s scent.

I venture into the bedroom, my bare feet feeling the thick, soft rug. The instant my soles sink into it, I release a soft squeal of delight. And then I see the bed again.

Nox’s room has a subtle spring decor. There is a vase with colorful flowers next to the bedside table and a massive wardrobe with a mirror next to it. There is a coat rack with a dark blue silk robe. I pick it up and put it on. Despite it being big, it sits my body wonderfully. It’s absolutely soft!

The room is so big that it has a balcony. Now that I’m dressed, I go there, I sit in one of the two chairs and admire the view of the garden.

I bring my legs close to my chest and hug them.

‘I miss them,’ I vent to Tyra.

‘I know. Me too. But now we have our fated mate forever and our pup, too.’ Tyra responds.

Based on the sun’s position, it appears to be around three o’clock in the afternoon. I feel increasingly sad looking around and realizing that I lost them all at once, so I go back to the room, take off my robe, and lay down with my head on Nox’s chest.

Seeming to sense my presence, he pulls me closer to him, snuggling into me.

The excitement of seeing everything different was replaced by the mourning of the people I will never see again.

It doesn’t take long, and I end up sleeping once more.

🐺 🐺 🐺

I feel Nox kiss my neck tenderly, “Princess, it’s time to wake up. My girl needs to eat!”

“Don’t wanna. Bed is too comfy and warm. Go away,” I grumble and cover our heads with the duvet.

Nox chuckles as he leans in, and then he nuzzles his nose against mine.

Oh, Goddess. That is so fucking sweet. I love it every time when he does that.

I open my eyes with a smile, but then I flutter shut them. Nox kisses each lid.

My cheeks.

My forehead.

My nose.

My chin.

Then, my lips. I sigh happily as I open my eyes. He draws back and says, as though he can feel my heart, “I don’t want you to cry.” I nod my head and he goes on, “I’m so sorry for everything you’ve been through, Princess. I’m here for whatever you need. Your adaptation to this new reality will be done at your own pace, but you’re not alone. Yeah?”

I swallow the lump in my throat before nodding again. Fuck! *What the hell have I ever done to deserve him?*

🐺 🐺 🐺

After we get up, I put on the blue silk robe again because I’m not going to take this shit off my body anymore. I know the good thing when I see one!

Then we both go straight to where Sandy is because I’m worried about her.

It’s already dark, and the clock on the wall in Nox’s bedroom says it’s seven o’clock at night.

The room was empty, with just Emma next to Sandy. I look at Sandy and raise an eyebrow when I see that she is wearing a long pink dress with white flowers.

“I thought she’d like to wear something,” Emma explains, seeming to read my mind, and I turn to her as she goes on. “I don’t know if she’ll like the dress, but I think she’d rather wake up wearing something than naked,” she giggles.

“Yes, you’re right,” I say, noticing that Sandy’s hands and face are clean. Emma probably cleaned it, too.

Fuck! I was supposed to be doing this. But I’m glad she did. I give her a small smile. “She’ll like the dress! She likes to wear flowery and frilly things,” I say, remembering Sandy’s girlie clothes.

“Did you talk to my parents, Gramma?” Nox asks Emma. He sits in one of the armchairs next to her. She immediately gives him a smile.

“Yes! They’re coming. They’ll probably arrive tomorrow morning,” Emma responds. “Chad’s looking forward to seeing you, I’ll call—” she turns back abruptly when a handsome guy in his late 40s walks into the living room with a confused look on his face. “Here he is!” Emma says, but Chad completely ignores her, just as he ignores Nox.

“Uncle Chad?” Nox asks again, and Chad takes long steps towards where we are and kneels next to me, but it’s not me who he’s addressing.

He looks vehemently at Sandy, and at the same time, she finally opens her eyes, first in confusion, looking directly at him.

The two stare at each other for a moment before this Chad guy says breathlessly, “Mate!”
