Falling in love with my Ex's Alpha Chapter 232: Book 2 - Epilogue - Part I

“Our poor prince!” An Omega from the Royal packhouse says it in a warm tone to Nox. “I can’t believe you went through all that without anyone to take care of you!”

Another Omega holds his big hand against hers and feels the texture of his skin, “Look at these hands! They weren’t made for hard work!”

I snort and roll my eyes at the scene, which is not so far from where I am.

More than a month has passed since we arrived at this reality. Days ago, we traveled to Royal Shadowpaw, where my mate, the Alpha King, and the Luna Queen live—well, and now, me too.

I tried to postpone this stupid Coronation that they all insisted on as long as I could. However, after a month without Nox seeing anyone and just staying by my side because I wasn’t ready for all this yet, I thought it was time to face my new reality.

He didn’t leave my side for even a second, but I could sense how much he wanted to come here and visit everyone who was eager to see him again.

“I missed you all,” Nox’s full lips are turned down into a sad pout. My mind quickly adds this version of him to the ever growing list of adorable things he does.

“Nox, you and Alexa need to visit our pack!” Luna Karalee says, gently stroking his strong forearm.

“When are you leaving?” Nox asks them, surrounded by the Omegas of the Royal pack and the Lunas of the Assembly. They are so close to him that I can only see him because he is much taller than them.

“We have to leave after the Coronation Ceremony,” Luna Krystal responds, gently picking a lint off his suit.

“Says who?” Nox asks her, his tone edging on desperate.

They all start fussing over him again. And, of course, I roll my eyes again.

Nox seems to be their sweet summer child.

Then, he turns back and opens a small, elegant black chest on a table against the wall. They all gasp loudly.

“Ohh, Prince! They’re so beautiful!”

I can’t see the bracelets from where I am, but I saw them earlier when he showed them to me.

“You made them? Did you make them all by yourself?”

“Yes,” he says with a bright, sweet smile.

“Our Prince is so talented!”

“Look, each one is personalized differently. My bracelet connects with a ring on each finger,” Luna Chika says in awe. *Oh, fuck me*. They will love him even more now. “It’ll be perfect for when I use my powerful claws,” Luna Chika says with a fierce smirk, immediately placing it on her hand.

“Where did you learn to do this?”

Nox runs his hand behind his neck with a shy smile, but I sense sadness through our mate bond. “I’m glad you liked it! I learned it from a friend who I considered a brother.”

Letum...

“Considered?” another Omega asks. “Does that mean he died?”

Nox gives them a short nod with his mouth in a thin line.

“Aww, I’m so sorry, Prince,” they all take turns hugging him.

He asked me to go there with him, but I told him to go first. I’m not going to lie, I don’t know how he manages to interact with so many people at the same time.

I almost close the bedroom door when I see some people approaching, but when they go in another direction, I open it just a crack again to continue seeing everyone in the hall.

“Nox!” A man beckons to him with a smile, and soon, other men of all ages begin to gather around him. They speak so loudly and simultaneously that I can’t understand what they’re saying, but I can feel all their affection toward my Prince.

Then he opens another chest and begins handing out rings to the men around him. And all the guys thank Nox with a smile on their faces. They seem to fight over who talks to Nox first.

If I hadn’t seen Nox dedicate himself over the last month to painstakingly making these gifts for them, I would have said Nox was buying them, but no.

This is his way of showing his love to them.

He genuinely cares about everyone.

I smile. He deserves all their affection.

I look at the luxury around the hall, and suddenly, I start to laugh softly.

How did he survive in those dirty caves without all these perks?

I love the hell out of him, but he’s fucking spoiled by everyone.

I shake my head, and suddenly, I see Nox’s mother approaching with his father, holding hands.

I noticed earlier that everyone wants to talk to her when she walks across the hall alone, but when she’s with him, people only greet her from afar.

Katie giggles as she approaches me, looking over to where Nox is talking nonstop about some things he has observed in the past.

“Everyone around my little chatterbox is lucky if he stops talking for more than five minutes.”

I smile and nod before opening the bedroom door for them. “Yeah. He really turned into a little chatterbox.”

However, before closing the door, Nox suddenly appears. “Did you miss me?” he says with a sweet smile, showing off his adorable dimples that I love so much.

“I should be the one asking you that,” I raise an eyebrow at him.

Inside the room, Kaiden — I call him that now because his long title is too much for me — approaches the bedroom window and begins to observe outside. My grandpuppy, who hates me calling her that, goes to the vanity desk and grabs the pink hair tie that Nox wore all that time in the past.

“Hey, that’s mine!” she says, scolding and turning to Nox. But somehow, she doesn’t seem surprised.

“Nox?” I call his name.

Katie’s eyes soften before she goes to Nox and hugs him. “I’m glad I took it from your room that night because it was the only thing I had of yours,” he says as they hug.

I put my hands inside the pocket of my robe over my dress. Kaiden seems to watch outside the window, but I know his attention is on us in the room.

Katie sits on the edge of the bed with Nox, and before they start talking, I interrupt. “Nox, why did you steal Letum’s bracelet and your Mom’s hair tie?” I could ask him this privately, but I realized he doesn’t keep many secrets from his parents.

His skin gets all red, and when Katie starts revealing, Nox gets out of bed and goes to where his father is, leaning his back against the window, “Nox always had a little problem... He’s a kleptomaniac.”

Nox looks like a red tomato. I go to him and hold his huge hand in mine because I sense his apprehension. “Okay, I already figured it out. I found some things hidden in your backpack...”

Nox looks at me with his dark blue eyes and justifies himself. “I tried to stop, I swear... But,” he looks down at the floor. It’s a stark contrast to see this big muscular man with a superego looking embarrassed in front of me. “I try to control myself, but there is this feeling of pleasure and excitement when I give in to my impulses that you have no idea! I don’t think about the consequences! I just act! However, the guilt and remorse of knowing I did something wrong comes then.”

“He tried to deny several times that he had this problem, but when we discovered that he had a drawer full of trinkets that he had stolen — some weren’t worth anything, but others were worth something — he ended up realizing he needed help,” Kaiden says our side.

“To tell you the truth, I don’t even know what to do with the things I got, I don’t even need them, but I... I don’t know how to explain it. But I promise you I’ll do better, Princess!” Nox promises.

“I know it’s wrong, but I’m glad you stole Letum. If you hadn’t done it, Kyrie wouldn’t have anything of him,” I try to see the bright side just so he doesn’t feel so guilty because he doesn’t seem to have control over what he does.

Nox seems to get even redder. “Well...” He takes out a broken brooch that belonged to my mother, and I gasp. “When the Moon Goddess, I mean, Sel, said I was going back to the future, I didn’t know what to do with the things I ended up gathering. So I decided to bring them to the future.”

I had totally forgotten about this old brooch, but I had already seen it in Nox’s backpack.

Katie gets up from the bed and comes over to see what Nox has in his palm. “What is this?” she asks, hugging Kaiden.

“It was my mother’s,” I say, holding back tears.

“Really?” Katie asks with wide eyes. “Dad will be so happy to see this because he lost almost all of his grandparents’ things during the attacks before the protective barrier.”

Sensing how much I miss my parents, Nox hugs me tightly. “They would be proud of you right now, Princess.”

“You’re not alone, Alexa. You have all of us now,” Kaiden says firmly, then turns to Katie. “Come on, my little sun. If I don’t hurry Wylder up, he won’t start this ceremony.”

Katie giggles, but before leaving the room, she turns to me, “Wait! I almost forgot!” She opens her small purse, which perfectly matches her dress, and takes out the necklace that Nox gave me. “I’m more than happy to give this back to you,” she says with a sweet smile.

I take the necklace from her hand, “Thank you, my sweet grandpuppy,” I say with a smile. I’d rather sassy her than make her cry again.

“Do not call me like that!” she says, abruptly turning her face to the side in a way that reminds me of Nox. “Actually,” she says with her eyebrows raised as if she has an idea. “You should call me Katherine!” she says jokingly.

I scoff. “That will never happen,” I say, hugging her when she humphs.

Before Nox’s parents left the room, Kaiden gave us a trip around the kingdom as a Coronation gift. He said it like it was something simple, but he didn’t know how much it meant to me. I have always wanted to visit all the places and learn about new cultures, but I never could because of my wolf or because I didn’t have money.

And now, knowing the sweet summer child of this kingdom, this trip will be more than extravagant.

After Nox’s parents leave the room, Tristan enters, and Nox leaves us alone.

Tristan and I have been spending much time together these last few days because Nox has known him since he was born, unlike me.

At first, when he told me some things about the pack, I was distraught about what he had done to Katie. Turning her into a dormant she-wolf was cruel to both her and her wolf, affecting her entire life.

I wonder if the reason Katie is so short, like humans, and not tall like werewolves, is that her wolf didn’t develop with her.

But I understood his reason. It was out of pure desperation that I left the central cave in search of new territory, constantly putting Letum and Dana’s lives in danger.

So I can’t judge him. *Desperation makes people make decisions they wouldn’t feel comfortable with if they weren’t forced to*.

After I gave Tristan my Mom’s broken brooch, he cried and said he would fix it.

Fuck! Tristan looks so much like my Mom. I’m glad he doesn’t look like Nox or me because it would make it weirder for me and a constant reminder that I’m Nox’s great-fucking-grandmother.

Even though Tristan was old enough to be my grandfather, all the time we spent together, I couldn’t stop caring and wanting to do things for him.

He asked me to stop bossing him around, but I don’t think I’ve had much success with that. Poor Emma only laughs at us.

After Tristan leaves and leaves me alone in the room, I rest my arm on the window without looking at anything specific outside, just enjoying the sunny day.

A few minutes later, Sandy opens the door and enters.

“Hey Lexie! It’s almost time for the Coronation Ceremony. Do you need anything?”

I turn to Sandy and take a deep breath. It’s still hard to believe that she’s here in front of me.

I avoided thinking about her for the last few years because it was so hard to remember her. And now she is here—alive.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” she says, holding my forearms. Sandy is wearing a light pink dress with some delicate ruffles at the hips.

“Nothing... I’m just thrilled you’re here,” I say in a tight voice. Fuck! *Stop crying!* “I’m so sorry for insisting that day... I regret so much for my tantrum!”

“Lexie, I would do it all over again,” she says firmly, and I lift my eyes to her. “I was born to save you, Lexie!”

I sense through our bond the intensity of every word she says. “Oh, Sandy!” I hug her tight. “I love you so much!”

“I love you too, Lexie,” Sandy says in a voice that sounds like she’s going to cry. “Okay, that’s enough! Or you’re going to wrinkle my dress!”

I laugh at her, letting go of the hug. “Chad just mindlinked me, I need to go to him,” Sandy says with a smile. The two of them marked each other the night after they discovered they were fated mates.

Neither of them wanted to postpone their happiness.

“Okay, go, go!” I shove her with my hands, and she leaves the room smiling from ear to ear.

Well, it’s almost time, huh? I go to the huge mirror in the room, where I can see myself from head to toe.

I take off my robe and take in the dress underneath it. The dress is white with some gold details. Its sleeveless cut shows off my toned arms, and the low back hints at my muscled shoulders.

While the dress appears to be revealing, it is still majestic. Royal.

Nox was right; Will makes the best dresses in the kingdom.

I spin around in front of the mirror. If Letum and Dana were here and saw me in this dress... I open a smile. I’d never live down to their tease!

Nox enters the room, and the loud noise of several voices outside is quickly muffled as he closes the door behind him.

I keep admiring my dress in the mirror, but it’s just to mask my nervousness.

This whole coronation thing got me anxious. I think I would rather fight a fucking battle.

“I’m starting to think you’re hiding in here,” Nox says, standing beside me.

He doesn’t say!

“I don’t really know what I’m doing,” I confess. I feel like a fraud.

Nox raises his eyebrows with my sudden confession. “You look like a Princess, as you should. I like this dress,” he praises with a smirk.

I turn to him, “You do?”

“Oh, yeah. But I think maybe you should do a bit of a twirl, you know? so I can check it over.” Nox nods his head, his dark silk hair falling flawlessly on his shoulders.

The tux he’s wearing matches the color of my dress, and if I thought he was a prince before in just a pair of burgundy pajamas, now he screams royalty.

Nox praises me again, “You are stunning! Face away from me and maybe just lean over a bit.”

I finally figure out what he is looking at. I give him a mock-stern look, wagging a finger. “Are you checking out my ass?”

Nox grins, “It is a fine ass.”

I shake my head, but I notice the bulge in his pants.

“Stop looking at my cock, little Princess. The Coronation Ceremony is about to start. This isn’t the time to get me all hard,” he tells me with a raised brow.

“Fine! But it’s like it’s waving at me. I can’t just ignore it. That would be rude,” I say with a smirk.

“Little Princess...” Nox bites his lower lip as if he is barely holding himself back from reaching me. He seems like he would lose control if he touched me.

“Don’t call me little Princess. I’m almost your height!” I remember him.

Nox raises an eyebrow, releasing his lower lip. “Don’t worry about that. You’re a foot shorter *on your knees*!”

And then Nox abruptly grasps me around the waist, walking me backward until I deliciously hit the wall.
