Khai continues attacking everyone who is still alive around him. Some wolves are so rancid that our noses hurt. Some of them that aren’t shifted hurt us with weapons dipped in poison.

Poison that causes Khai to be weak, but it doesn’t stop him from continuing to attack them.

I would have already died if I were a regular werewolf, but Khai is very strong.

“Who the fuck are you?” I hear someone ask. Khai responds by showing who he is — tearing his belly in such a way that his intestines come out.

“N-Nox—” My girl whispers weakly, but I don’t even look at her.

If I look, I won’t be able to continue. Just the thought of her facing them all alone. And Pregnant?

I don’t deserve her! I don’t deserve her!

I feel someone stab Khai’s shoulder with another knife, ‘Fuck! It’s poisoned!’ Khai staggers, though he remains to attack them. The growls and screams of the battle around us become incomprehensible as his vision begins to blur.

But we can’t stop.

I won’t let anyone touch my girl and survive!

One by one, Khai strives with an impetuous force to cruelly kill them and protect our baby and our fated mate. Even if we die in the process.

When I felt his presence approaching, I automatically started to feel relief, knowing he was arriving. He was nearby. I could see him one last time.

He hadn’t gone to the future and abandoned me. *Not yet*.

Khai keeps attacking everyone around us in such a majestic way that now I understand why he is the heir of that prophecy.

I am an Alpha female with a red wolf. I’m stronger than any Alpha. I know how powerful I am, but I was no match for so many attacks at the same time. But Nox is beyond me, his strength is so incredible. While Khai kills everyone he comes close to, he does so in such a grandiose way that it seems like he’s just calmly delivering the sentence for what the attackers did.

Nox looks just as heavenly as the first time I saw him shift and realized he was my fucking fated mate.

Khai bites one of the rogues on the thigh and throws himself into the air so hard that the rogue falls into one of the open arms of the Moon Goddess statue, breaking it, precisely the arm that had the ‘D’ that Dana wrote on it. Then, the filthy rogue falls to the ground unconscious without moving with his arm above him. He is dead.

Khai already has almost all of his cream, golden fur covered in blood.

“Nox!” I say with a raised hand for him to come to me. “Let me hea-heal you,” I struggle to speak.

He will end up dying if he doesn’t stop!

Nox continues to fight bravely without caring about his own well-being, though.

I feel pain all over my body. My hands protect my belly like a shield.

Everyone ignores me and only attacks Khai, and when someone gets close to me, Khai growls and stops them.

Where did so many rogues come from? There are no packs nearby! And among them are members of the Bloodmoon pack!

What are they doing here? How did they find out our territory?

Could it be that someone from the human city followed us? But I would know if that was the case because I would have felt some presence following us, just like Letum, Dana, or Nox.

He doesn’t respond. He has his eyes closed.

“Nox, please stay with me,” I get close to him, and the scene before me makes me scream in despair.

Nox’s body is all injured. He has numerous stab wounds all over his body. He has such a big cut on his shoulder really close to his heart, and there is a large amount of poison in it.

I immediately put my head on his chest and tried to heal him.

But I’m weak, I don’t know if I’ll make it in time.

I look up, and the statue of Goddess Selena, now with a broken arm, seems to torment me. Before, it calmed me down, and now I can only associate it with rogues cornering me and trying to kill my baby.
