Werewolf
Falling in love with my Ex's Alpha Chapter 108
In less than a second, Kaiden advances towards Chad and throws him to the ground; when I blink my eye again, Kaiden already has his big hand on his neck.
All of this before any reaction from me!
All this in a fraction of a millisecond.
"Kaiden, wait!" I yell and run to them to stop Kaiden from killing Chad.
Chad tries to free himself from Kaiden and punches Kaiden in the face with one hand, but Kaiden doesn't even move from his spot; it is as if a child had touched him.
"Tell me you're kidding, Chad. I don't want to kill you, but you're asking me to!" Kaiden utters through his teeth.
"Kaiden, please!" I touch his shoulder, and he looks with hatred in my eyes; I can see his pain as if I betrayed him, and I start to feel guilty.
"Kaiden, let me explain, please!"
"Tell me! You have one second to convince me before I slit his throat!" Kaiden growls at me in such a fierce way, sounding like a beast, and he doesn't even shift to Troy.
I can only remember the way he tortured Becca's mate. I know he's not kidding. If he decides to kill Chad, he'll do it without hesitation.
I kneel on the floor next to him and try not to stutter over my words. My heart is racing so fast I can feel the pulse. "Kaiden, uhm... You know that Char went to my pack—"
"What the fuck does that have to do with what I asked you?" Kaiden growls at me, interrupting me, his eyes darken with impatience, and I try to summarize.
"So... Jay was going to live alone, but since he already marked Jake, I invited him to live with Jake and me. Well, he accepted—"
"And then you decided to call Chad too? Why would you do that?" he shouts at me, still squeezing Chad's neck. "Why would you do this to *me*?"
I quickly look at Chad, and he's visibly suffering from Kaiden's hand grip, but his face isn't showing as much pain as I'd imagine it would be... he almost looks calm.
I turn my gaze to Kaiden and try to be as concise as possible to calm him down. "Kaiden, Chad won't sleep in my room like Jay will sleep in Jake's room. Chad will use the empty room!"
"You know t-that I-I always wanted to live with J-Jay-y!" Chad says with great difficulty.
Kaiden looks at him like he's an insignificant ant, and I swallow hard.
"You don't need to react like that! I'm your mate, I'm with you!" I touch his face, and his face softens a little.
"Let go of Chad, please, baby, you're hurting him," I beg. Kaiden takes a deep breath and lets go harshly of Chad's neck, pushing Chad away.
I should have specified how to free Chad's neck.
I hug Kaiden, catching him off guard. But two seconds later, he hugs me, too. "You are mine. Do you understand me?" He says in my ear, and I get goosebumps.
"Yes, baby, I'm yours," I kiss his cheek and then look into his eyes.
"I'll take you two home," Kaiden says, looking at Chad. And I feel like they're talking via mindlink. But I don't comment on that.
Kaiden is calmer. That's what matters. At least he won't kill anyone before the day is over because of me.

This is difficult.
As much as I need to go, because if Kitkatie goes, I go too, I still feel like I left my half in Diamond Claw.
Well, I left.
My mate was in charge of the pack while Kaiden, Chad, Katie and I continued to complete the second round.
I almost freaked out when Katie told me she wanted to go on this trip.
Firstly, obviously, she has no way to defend herself if something happens, and secondly, because I wish I had stayed at Diamond Claw with Jay.
The further I get away from the pack, the more I feel as if something is wrong, as if I urgently need to return.
I know that this is the effect of our mate bond, and I also know that when I sleep, I will have horrible nightmares because of it. This is the power of the mate bond, showing that one mate cannot stay away from the other.
Katie decided to come along with a small team from the hospital to help if there is anyone in need in the packs that Kaiden will win.
As soon as the Royal representative arrived at Diamond Claw, Kaiden had already directed each group of warriors to be placed exactly where he wanted.
He spent the whole night planning with Chad and Jay, which surprised me because I thought he was going to do whatever he wanted and not plan anything.
However, I don't think he would be where he is as an Alpha if he didn't think better about his actions.
The Royal representative explained the expectations and punishments to him and then started the second round.
Immediately, some groups of warriors shifted towards the packs that Will mapped for Kaiden, then other groups went towards the territory where a man called Gideon, the same one who told Kitkatie that she was a healer, informed that there would be people needing help.
As soon as we got close to one of the territories that was in the planning after almost two hours of travelling, Chad got out of the car and shifted with other warriors and headed towards a pack that Kaiden ordered.
Then we continued the trip, this time with very few people.
The Royal representative is paying attention to Kaiden's every step, and I can already tell that he is very irritated by this.
But also, *when is Kaiden not angry?*
I also thought it was strange that he wanted to know which pack exactly Kaiden was going to attack, but I imagine that's standard protocol.
After some time driving, Kaiden stops the car abruptly; Kitkatie, Kaiden, the Royal representative, and I are in the car. "You're going to stay here in the car with Jacob, this distance is the safest for you," he says firmly to Kitkatie, and she nods. "I already informed the car behind that they will stay here too. Only warriors go first, then when it is safe, I will mindlink to a warrior who will stay with the hospital team that you can go," he concludes and opens the door to the car.
Before he leaves, Kitkatie stops him by holding his hand. "Wait!" she leans over to him and hugs him, she speaks very softly in his ear, but just like me, the Royal representative must have also heard her speak to him, "good luck, may the goddess Selena protect you!"
He kisses her forehead, and as soon as he gets out of the car, he shifts along with the last warriors and heads toward a medium-sized pack.
The Royal representative will stay here in the car with us. He will only go to Kaiden when he is finished so he can check everything.
He's so focused on his cell phone that I don't even mind starting to talk to Kitkatie.
"He'll be fine. Look at you, all in love," I tease her with a smirk, and she rolls her eyes.
"Said the person who made a fuss about coming here. I know you wanted to be close to Jay," she retorts back, and I ruffle her hair.
I would trade anything to be close to my mate right now.
Even though this is so difficult to say out loud.

The afternoon sun casts long shadows across the pack as I stand at its outskirts; Troy's instincts are pulsing to fight. The Bellwoods Pack, which is a mid-sized pack, bathed in warm hues as the sun begins its descent, seems unaware of the impending invasion.
I've received intel from the fucker Will that this place is ruled by a tyrant Alpha, and its members are grappling with starvation.
I already knew Will, but I didn't know that this fucker was friends with my little mate.
I didn't know this fucker was that intimate with her.
I had to hold back all of Troy's instincts to not attack him when he spoke about my mate with so much appreciation.
Despite the situation at Bellwoods, this pack is not defenceless. Some strong warriors stand ready to defend their pack.
Approaching with calculated precision, I observe the tyrannical alpha arrogantly positioned atop a fortified structure, a small but potent group of warriors at his side.
The motherfucker exudes an air of unassailable confidence. He believes himself invincible, a ruler with absolute control. Unbeknownst to him, I'd already mapped the pack's defences and the warriors who awaited.
Dean is camouflaged on my left side, he mindlinks me, "are you ready, Alpha?"
I respond with an arrogant tone, "you fucking bet I am!"

A few hours have passed, and I wonder how much longer it will take.
One of the warriors in the car behind us has already come to report twice on how the battle is going.
Kitkatie is increasingly nervous, I'm trying to make jokes and play with her, but she doesn't seem to be distracted by anything.
Zyon thinks the Royal representative is... strange. Since Kaiden left, he's been acting weirder than usual.
There was a time when he got out of the car and went far away to talk on his cell phone.
My instincts are on edge, and I'm on alert in case something happens.
Even far from the battle, my instincts tell me something is off.
