Werewolf
Falling in love with my Ex's Alpha Chapter 225: Book 2 - Chapter 58
“It’s nothing,” he says, waving his hands while shaking his head. “Let’s eat, I bet our baby must be hungry!”
In response, my stomach makes a colossal noise, grumbling. Nox’s laugh makes me leave this fight aside. The day was tiring enough.
I’ll deal with more problems tomorrow.

Our trip to the magical place where Nox had stolen the diamonds was quicker than I imagined. Of course, Nox didn’t let me help him get the diamonds or make any effort. However, when I saw the diamonds he managed to remove, I was amazed.
It made me want to really make a piece of jewelry with each diamond. I was a little upset that Nox didn’t get more, but he’s right. If we take too much, it could end up changing something in the future. Still, just the amount that Nox took is enough for our pack to be considered more than rich.
Instead of returning to the east cave, Nox thought it would be more prudent to leave me close to the entrance to the Three Trees pack without anyone seeing him. Otherwise, we would have to go to the cave in the east and then come back again.
As we approach the entrance of our pack, I start to reflect on how quickly it doesn’t feel like two weeks have passed.
Perhaps the only sign that time has passed is the fact that my belly seems impossibly much bigger.
Time on my prince’s side seems to pass too quickly. I feel like a lifetime with him still wouldn’t be enough.
Nox is so sweet and kind. Sometimes, I forget that he’s from the future, and theoretically, he’s my great-fucking-grandson.
In fact, I always force myself to stop thinking every time I remember our blood relationship so I don’t end up freaking out.
“Be good,” Nox says, hugging me. “Don’t forget to meet me at our waterfall tomorrow!” he reminds me.
“Okay. I’ll take Kyrie’s camouflage potion! I’m sure she’s already made it.”
Nox lets me go and then kisses my pregnant belly. “I love you!” He says, looking up at me. “I’m going to think about what we’ll do from now on because we can’t live like this.”
I let out a breath I didn’t even realize I’d been holding. “Okay,” I say quietly.
We don’t know when he will return to the future or if he will return. The only thing Tyra and I know is that we want to stay with him as long as we can before he and Khai disappear and take our hearts with him.

I smile when I see the entrance to the packhouse. I will always be surprised every time I see it. It’s so beautiful!
The sun had already set about two hours ago. And I’m happy to have arrived here right now because as soon as I open the packhouse door, it starts to snow outside. I hope Nox finds shelter.
“Lexi!” Letum says, coming towards me. ‘Where’s Nox?’ he mindlinks me.
‘He’s nearby,’ I reply, and he gives me a curt nod before hugging me.
“Wow, your backpack is huge, Lexi. You shouldn’t be carrying all that,” he says as he closes the door behind us.
A slight furrow creases my brow as I stand before Letum, struggling to remove my backpack. The weight of the diamonds in it is fucking heavy. Good thing it was Nox who carried it all the way.
Letum, ever observant, can’t help but notice my struggle. With a playful twinkle in his eye, he steps forward to lend a hand. “Here, let me help you, Lexi,” he says, but then he widens his eyes as he helps me take off my backpack. “What on earth have you got in this? A corpse?”
“Oh yes, you caught me!” I chuckle, nodding.
“Rocks?” He tries to guess again.
I shoot him a wry glance, my lips curling into a sardonic smile. “Oh, of course,” I retort with a hint of sarcasm. “I always carry rocks around with me, you know, just in case I need some to throw them at you.”
Chuckling, Letum continues to assist me, but I bet his curiosity is piqued.
When he puts the backpack on the floor, I open it just enough for him to see what’s inside.
Letum’s eyebrows shoot up in surprise. ‘Nox?’ he mindlinks me.
A smirk tugs at the corners of my lips. ‘Yes.’
Letum shakes his head with a grin as he sets my backpack on the floor. “Your parents are almost here,” he says.
His grin disappears when I ask, “Is Nige back yet?”
“Yes, he’s at his house.” He looks thoughtful for a moment. “Don’t you think it’s strange that he disappears out of nowhere like that?”
“Well, it wasn’t quite out of the blue... Rose rejected him,” I reply, taking off my coat.
“But that doesn’t make sense. Rose wasn’t committed to helping us. I know that, but it doesn’t make sense for her to want to leave here and join a new pack,” Letum says with his arms crossed, clenching his jaw.
I don’t answer him as I start unlacing my boots in the entryway. But when I’m done, I ask him, “Where’s Kyrie?”
His entire demeanor changes completely. I study his face for a moment. Now that we no longer have to worry about building a new pack from scratch, it looks much healthier. His cheeks are flusher, there are no black circles around his eyes, and his hair looks freshly cut. Perhaps all of this is also due to the fact that he now has a fated mate. I’m so happy Kyrie and him are together.
“She’s in our room,” Letum replies, feeling apprehensive about the sudden question.
“It’s okay, don’t worry, I just need to talk to her about something.” I don’t even wait for him to respond. I go up the stairs towards Kyrie’s room.
The fall decorations begin to be a huge contrast to the early winter landscape outside. After I knock on her door, Kyrie opens her bedroom door with a smile, “Lexi! You’re back!”
Kyrie hugs me. Our pregnant bellies press against each other, making us laugh. I enter her room, and she closes the door behind her.
“Wow, this is amazing,” I whisper to myself, taking in the comforting scent of cinnamon and spice that lingers in the air.
The space is beautifully adorned with fall decor as the rest of the packhouse, each detail seems to evoke a feeling of tranquility and warmth.
My eyes are drawn to the plush, oversized bed at the center of the room, its soft blankets and fluffy pillows inviting me to sink into its comfort. Kyrie sits on the edge of the bed.
“I could just curl up here all day,” I remark, resisting the urge to indulge in the temptation.
I smile as I see a crib in one corner of the bedroom, surrounded by an array of plush toys.
Kyrie chuckles, “Well, that’s what I’ve been doing basically all day.”
Her eyes then look at the necklace that Nox gave me around my neck. “Oh, Spirits, Lexi!” She says with her mouth open, getting up from the bed and coming towards me.
She touches her fingers to the white diamond pendant shaped like a full moon. “It’s so beautiful!”
“I know, right,” I smile at her reaction.
“Could you manage to make more scent camouflage potion?” I ask as she sits back down on the bed.
“Yes, I’ve been using one of the spare rooms near the kitchen to do some experiments,” she says with a grin as she rubs her pregnant belly.
“How much will it cost me?” I play.
“I don’t know,” she pretends to think, “100ml of your blood could cover the cost,” Kyrie says with a wicked grin and then starts giggling when I gasp exaggeratedly.
“What? That’s absurd! The luxury has changed you,” I say, pointing to the things in her room around us, and she laughs even more.
“I’m kidding,” she says, “Do you want me to get it for you now?”
“Nah, you give it to me tomorrow. Actually, I came here for another reason...” because I am a person without a bone in my body with patience, I get straight to the point. “I need to tell you something.”
Her smile disappears when I firm up my tone. “What’s wrong? Are you okay? Is your baby okay?” Kyrie asks, looking at my pregnant belly.
I don’t answer her back. I reach into my pocket and take out a piece of paper. “Kyrie... This is for you.”
Nox finally revealed what he had been carrying in his backpack, which had made him nervous for me to find out weeks ago.
Kyrie grabs it, with shaking hands and eyes full of tears, the letter that Dana wrote to her before she died.
