Falling in love with my Ex's Alpha Chapter 223: Book 2 - Chapter 56

The next day, after Nox fed me again as if I didn’t know how to use my hands, we started arguing once more.

I go into our room and put on sweatpants so we can clean up yesterday’s massacre.

“You are not going!” Nox says from behind me. “I’ll sort everything out. Don’t worry.”

“There are a lot of bodies on the ground. It’s going to take you forever to clean everything up,” I say and start putting on my coat. “Besides,” I smirk at him, and he already knows I’m going to tease him, “this isn’t a job for *a prince*.”

Nox rolls his eyes. “Really?”

I chuckle. “Well, so tell me, when have you done something like this in the future?” I keep teasing him as I start braiding my hair. “I bet the answer is never!”

“Let me,” he says, and then he turns my back to him and undoes what I did before starting to braid my hair into a single braid — much better than the one I was doing, by the way.

‘Lexi?’

‘NIGE?’ I immediately tense up when I hear his voice in my head.

“What is wrong?” Nox asks, already alerted.

‘Where are you? I’m at home. Do you need help to come here?’

Nige takes a moment before responding, ‘No... I’m coming to you.’

“Yeah... I can feel him,” Nox says, taking a deep breath.

“He’s coming. Ugh! It’s going to be so hard not being able to talk about all this future stuff with him around,” I say as he braids my hair. “I have so many questions! I can’t believe your Mom also has a red wolf!” I say enthusiastically.

“Shh, he can’t know about me.” Nox gives my braid a slight tug, making my head go back a little.

“Owiee!” I pretend it hurts, and he kisses the top of my head with a chuckle before returning to braid my hair again.

“She’s as strong as me? What’s her name?” I can’t hold myself back. I’m inquisitive about everything, and, well, I’m sure anyone in my position would also be dying to know about the future.

He seems to check if Nige is far enough away before saying to me, “I can’t tell you her name,” I let out an audible sigh, and the bastard chuckles before continuing. “But I can tell you a little about her. Mom has a big red wolf, but yours is much bigger. I think the reason for that is because you’re an Alpha female. Mom has an older brother; she’s not the firstborn.” Uhmm... I didn’t expect that one. “But she is very strong, and her healing powers are unmatched by anyone else in our kingdom.”

I smile when I hear him talk so affectionately about his mother.

“What about your father? Oh my Goddess, I still can’t believe your father is a fucking King, but,” I say, turning my head back over my shoulder to look at him. “I always knew you were a prince. Even if you deny this, I don’t think anyone would believe you. I mean... Look at you, duh!” I turn my face forward. “Do you miss him much?”

“Yes. Very much so,” Nox says, clearing his throat. “I believe they must have freaked out when I disappeared. Probably my Dad and Uncle Chad must have banned my mother from leaving the house for fear of her disappearing, too.”

“Is he your father’s brother?” I ask curiously, loving that he let slip a tidbit of information.

“Not blood related, but rather, they consider each other brothers as much,” Nox replies.

“Why does he care so much about your mother? Is he Beta or something?” I ask, confused.

He takes a while to respond, and for a moment, I think he will stop answering my questions, but then he continues. “Uncle Chad is my mother’s Protector.”

"*Oh*." I swallow the lump in my throat. “He seems like a great Protector.”

“He is.” Nox doesn’t continue talking about his mother’s Protector, but I don’t think what he’s not telling me has anything to do with me not being able to know about the future, but rather something private to his uncle.

Nox clears his throat, and then he grabs me by the shoulders and turns me to face him before his hand wraps around the back of her neck, squeezing the sides gently as he presses a kiss to the top of her head. “It’s done. You look beautiful as always, Princess.”

Just like me, I’m sure he can also feel Nige getting closer, so I don’t ask him anything else.

Nox’s hands cup my cheeks, and he bends down to kiss my lips. He strokes my tongue with his before running it along my bottom lip. I feel it in my clit! My heart rate increases, and I moan as he continues to kiss me with fervor.

I slip my hands under the hem of his shirt, marveling at how his skin is so soft but firm. Nox’s back muscles strain underneath my hands. He releases my lips and stares down at me hungrily.

I wriggle and whine. Wanting more. But Nox firmly says, “I wish we could continue, but we need to talk to Nigel.”

We go to the kitchen at the same time when Nigel appears naked.

“Nige!” I shout his name and sit in a chair because I’m tired and my belly is enormous. “Where are you? Where’s Rose?”

Nige looks at Nox with fury in his eyes. “What is he doing here?” he asks.

Nige seems to get angrier when Nox doesn’t even bother answering his question. “Wear some clothes,” Nox says with disgust.

“Are you hurt?” I ask him sharply.

Nige stops staring at Nox with a frown and looks at me, but his frown returns when he looks at my belly. “No. I’m going to take a shower.”

He goes into his room and comes back not long later. He doesn’t sit next to me, but he seems more composed than he was when he arrived.

Nox places a plate of food in front of him. “Eat. After you finish, we will clean up the mess the rogues made.”

Nige narrows his eyes at my mate but doesn’t object. Then he starts eating, “What happened there?” he asks, looking away between bites.

As I explain to him what had happened, Nox strokes my hand. “If it weren’t for Nox, I would be dead,” I finish saying, looking at my prince. “What happened to you?” I ask Nige, looking at him.

“I knew something was wrong. I was attacked at the pack border. It was probably the same invaders that attacked you. I think they thought I was dead, but I was unconscious. I just woke up today, and my body was already healed, so I came here.”

“Where is Rose?” Nox asks, and I can’t control my jealousy for him asking about her.

Nige’s demeanor changes completely, and he seems angrier. “She left.”

“What do you mean?” I ask, lifting my back from the chair and leaning forward.

“Before the attack, she rejected me,” Nige says, and I gasp loudly. “Yeah... And then she decided to leave the pack. She said she would prefer to live in a powerful pack.”

“And where did she go? Why didn’t she come and talk to Alexa before that?” Nox asks, crossing his arms.

“I don’t know,” Nige replies, finishing his meal. “But I bet she might have had something to do with the attack,” he reveals.

“No... It’s not possible. Rose wouldn’t do that,” Nox says, and I nod.

But Nige disagrees. “You didn’t know her like I did. She didn’t care about anyone but herself.”

“Did you? Why are you talking about her in the past as if she had died?” Nox asks firmly, uncrossing his muscular arms.

“She rejects me. She died to me!” Nige gets up and puts his plate in the sink. When he turns to us, he looks sad. “I wish I was here to protect you, Lexi... I’m so sorry.”

I stroke my pregnant belly and nod at him.

Maybe it’s because his mate rejected him, but something about Nige seems off.

***The Traveler***

Almost a week after the attack. Still, I can’t seem to put my girl down. I want her to stay in my arms all the time, where I can see her constantly.

There hasn’t been a time in my life that I can remember being so damn scared. Those motherfuckers who broke into our territory could have killed my girl or our baby.

I couldn’t keep lying to her, and frankly, I’m scared of my next meeting with the Moon Goddess. I hope she understands that I had no choice.

Well, I’ll take the fact that I’m still alive as a good sign.

“Here,” I take off my jacket and drape it over my girl’s shoulders. “I told you it was colder today.”

“Nox, it’s not even that cold, and in case you didn’t know, I’m a she-wolf,” she says sarcastically without taking her hands off the sacred fruit tree.

We keep coming here where the three sacred trees are at the end of the day so Alexa can use her gift on the trees. She says she feels good doing this.

I jerk my face toward the pack’s entrance. “Letum!” I announce. He’s far away, but I can already feel him.

Alexa relaxes her shoulders, looking relieved, “Fuck! I’m glad he’s back.”

“I know, Princess. Me too.”

‘Letum, we are at the three trees. Do you want to come here or meet us at home?’

‘I’ll come to you,’ he responds, sounding excited.

And so he did. Not long after that, he appears completely dirty but without his backpack. He probably should have dropped it close to home.

“Wow, you’re huge, Lexi!” Letum says as my girl runs to him and hugs him.

“Thank Goddess, you’re okay!” she says when she lets go of the hug. “Why did you come alone?” she asks confused.

After I hug my brother, he responds to both of us. “After I told your parents about what happened, they decided they will only come here when everyone is gathered.”

Alexa nods, “I figured that would happen.”

I ask apprehensively, “Did they say when they’re coming?”

“Soon. Alpha said they’ll be out of there in two months at the most.”

“How is Kyrie?” Alexa asks him in a sad tone, biting her bottom lip.

Letum seems to crack a smile at the mention of Kyrie’s name, and Alexa and I look at each other.

He looks away but then looks sadly at us, “I found out that Kyrie is my fated mate.”

“WHAT?” Alexa’s eyes almost pop out.

Letum laughs, “I know... I was shocked when I found out.”

My girl holds his hand affectionately before looking into his eyes and saying, “I’m happy for you. I’m sure Dana must be on the moon, rooting for you two.”

Letum’s shoulders seem to relax, and a tear comes out of his eye before he hugs her.

Now I understand why Kyrie’s mate was a warrior.

Goddess... I can’t believe that I not only met him but also that he would become my brother.

***The Healer***

“I almost forgot to inform you,” Letum says, sitting in the kitchen chair the next day after we have breakfast. “Kyrie is developing a potion that will camouflage the scent of the person who uses it.”

“How come?” I ask him. But I noticed that the ones who are really interested are Nige and Nox.

“She has made a potion that masks one’s scent when sprayed on the body. This way, we can go unnoticed without any werewolf finding out that we are nearby,” Letum says, crossing his arms. He’s not smiling, but I can see he’s proud of Kyrie.

“Wow! That’s incredible,” Nox says from behind me.

“It’s still not one hundred percent perfect, but she’s been working hard to make it work.”

“When will it be ready?” Nige asks Letum in an anxious voice.

I laugh at his eagerness. “Calm down. Kyrie is pregnant. And we’re not in a rush either. She can take as long time as she needs.”

Nige blinks hard but nods, leaning back in his chair.

When Letum told us that Kyrie was pregnant, we were thrilled. I can’t wait to meet her again. I haven’t seen her or my parents in months. Well, I think I’ll give birth to my baby before her because witches’ pregnancies take longer than werewolves.

“Maybe when she’s here in the pack with her own space, she’ll be able to develop her potions easily,” Nox suggests.

“That’s true,” Nige agrees, which surprises everyone present because he never agrees with Nox. “When will you return to get her?” Nige asks Letum.

“I want to go back to the central cave tomorrow. My nightmares have already started since yesterday,” Letum speaks in a deep voice. “Besides, I need to be there in case something happens, and I need to stay there to help everyone when they come here.”

My heart is uneasy. I wish everyone was already here. However, I still need to talk to Nox so we can decide what we will do when they arrive. They can’t see Nox!

Nige gets up and goes to his room, and I take the opportunity to talk with Nox and Letum via mindlink.

‘Did you tell my parents about Nox?’ I ask Letum, looking at him.

Letum looks at both of us as if he wants to ask something, but he just shakes his head. And then he mindlinks us. ‘I thought you were the one who should talk to them.’

‘Good.’ I say as I nod. ‘Don’t say anything to them. When they arrive here, I’ll talk to them.’

Letum narrows his eyes and looks at both of us before saying, ‘Do you want to tell me something?’

‘No.’ I answer.

‘Trust me, that’s all you need to know.’ Nox mindlinks Letum in a firm tone while he places his two giant hands on my shoulders.

Letum stares at Nox. He seems reluctant for a moment, but he sees something in my mate’s eyes that makes his shoulders relax. ‘I trust you.’

I give a small, relieved smile. It’s good that Letum is cooperating; now, we need to convince Nige to cooperate, too.

It seems that just thinking about him makes me summon him because he enters the kitchen right away, looking in a good mood.

“Have you already prepared your things for us to go?” Letum asks Nige.

Nige abruptly turns to him and responds indignantly, losing his good mood, “I’m not going with you. I’m staying here!”

“I thought you would want to go with me to help the people who will come,” Letum says, lifting his chin slightly.

Nige responds impatiently to him, “But how difficult will it be for everyone to come, Letum? The members who were old have all been killed. We no longer have this problem, thank Goddess!”

“*What*? What do you mean by that?” I ask him, standing up instantly as Nox’s hands slide off my shoulders.
