Werewolf
Falling in love with my Ex's Alpha Chapter 115
"Get into a fighting position," Kaiden orders, a harder tone to his voice now.
"Why?" I ask, but I quickly comply when he shoots me a look.
I go to the center of the ring, and Isabel does the same on the other side.
My hands start to sweat with nervousness. I'm used to sparring with Jake, he knows my limitations.
Even when I'm sparring with Jay or Chad, I don't get that scared, but somehow, sparring with this girl Isabel is making me scared because it doesn't seem like she's going to take into consideration that I'm human, not a werewolf like her.
To make matters worse, she's super taller than me, almost the same height as Jake, but that doesn't stop her from having a very feminine body. I can't deny she's beautiful.
I look like a child next to her, and to make things even worse, she looks at me as if she's going to chew me for breakfast.
However, after Kaiden tells us to start, she doesn't jump on me to devour me.
No. She kills me slowly as she slowly circles me, making my heart race in anticipation of any attack.
Suddenly, she attacks me, she shoves my left side, causing me to fall to the floor harshly.
I stop myself with a hand right before my head smashes into the unforgiving surface.
I stare up at her in bewilderment, and she is smirking! But then she changes to a stoic face.
She glances at me as if asking me if I'm going to lie on the floor all day.
I get up with fire in my eyes, I try to remember Jake's tips, but she's much faster. She lunges at me with unrestrained fury, attacking mercilessly. Her strikes are precise, calculated to inflict damage, yet I feel like she's not using all her strength because if she were, I would already be dead.
She's very fast, she doesn't give me a chance to attack, I can only defend myself, however, even that seems like a failure considering her sequence of blows.
I try to compose myself when she moves away a little; my breathing is laboured, and I already feel pain throughout my body.
Isabel eyes me with a chilling intensity that sends shivers down my spine. We're meant to spar, but her demeanour suggests otherwise.
Isabel doesn't hold back. Again, she advances towards me, and she lands blows that reverberate through my body. I dodge, parry, and counter, trying to match her intensity, but it's a daunting task.
I use everything I learned from Jake, but it seems like nothing is enough. She is much stronger than me. She's kicking my ass.
Even though she has a blank face, she seems to have something against me, and I start to feel even more insecure.
She knocks me down again, and this time, I fall to the floor with a loud noise, Jay comes over to us and stops the fight, "Enough, Bel."
He holds out his hand for me to get up; before I get up, I look at Isabel.
Her eyes blaze with an undying animosity, a silent declaration of her disdain.
"Did you get hurt?" Jake asks me from my side. I look at him.
"I'm fine," I lie. My body is protesting to leave, wanting my bed.
Chad isn't around, I look for him and see him on one of the gym machines.
"Isabel, you can go continue your training," Kaiden tells her firmly, and she heads towards the gym after giving him a polite nod.
"Katie, go back to the fighting stance you were in before," Kaiden says to me, and I reluctantly do as he says.
"I thought with your new training and weight gain, you'd be able to attack her more easily," Jake says jokingly, but I'm so angry at having been beaten so ridiculously easily by Isabel that I don't find it funny at all.
In fact, I'm more upset with him, can't he see that he's saying that I've gained weight for everyone to hear?
"Ha-ha. That's funny," I say, with no humour in my voice, and he rolls his eyes, continuing to laugh.
What makes me the most angry is that I'm now starving and I can't wait to go home and eat all the calories I spent here.
From how sweaty I am, I would say there were a lot of calories I wasted.
Jay and Jake start sparring in the ring next to us.
Kaiden circles me with a judgmental look.
"You're keeping your weight too heavily on your dominant side," Kaiden observes.
"I am not," I protest, grounding myself even further to make sure that he is wrong. I'm really upset with him. Why did he make me spar with Isabel?
She almost kills me, and he doesn't seem to know that she doesn't like me.
"You are," he chides, coming to a stop in front of me. "The way you're positioned now, anyone could attack you, like Isabel did."
I take a deep breath and try to ignore the jealousy I feel when I hear him praising her.
I fix my stance exactly how he wants, and he nods, pleased with the change.
For the next few minutes, he continued to tell me what I did wrong with each blow Isabel gave me, and I felt ashamed for having been beaten by her.
After a few minutes, Chad comes towards us, Chad brushes a few stray strands of hair out of my face from when I fell.
Kaiden looks at Chad angrily, "get your hands off her," he says through gritted teeth.
"Calm down, I just wanted to check on her. There's no need to be a bitch about it," Chad says with a smirk, still toying with my hair.
Kaiden pushes him with both hands on his chest, "What the fuck, Chad?"
I stand there dumbfounded, my brain struggling to catch up. After a few seconds, I finally find my voice, and it is laced with irritation. "Kaiden, please. Not now!"
I go to Kaiden and put a hand on his waist.
"You know what? It's been a while since I sparred against you," Chad says, looking at Kaiden while sticking a finger into his chest, "how about a good old fight?"
I feel in the air how angry Kaiden is, I can see in his eyes how much Troy is in his predator mode. Chad is teasing him, he shouldn't do that.
"You can spar another time," I say, getting in between the two, "let's continue with your observations about my spar with Isabel, Kaiden," even though I hate it, it's still better than seeing Kaiden killing Chad.
Kaiden was almost giving in until Chad looked at me from head to toe, and then he looked at Kaiden with a raised eyebrow and said, "Are you scared that your Gamma is stronger than you?"
