***The Traveler***

There’s a reason why I asked Alexa to come to this city to buy what we needed.

This is the closest city to where the territory that will become Diamond Claw in the future is located.

So, on the same day we arrived in the city, instead of sleeping with them, I continued on my journey to go to where one of the diamond mines is located.

It’s not that far away, but it’s also not somewhere I can get to that quickly. I couldn’t come with any of them because it would raise even more suspicion.

So, as soon as I said goodbye to my girl, Letum and Dana, and made sure they would take care of her even though she didn’t need it, I shifted and let Khai take me to the diamond mine.

Khai arrived there about seven hours later. His motivation for running was to come back soon so he could be close to Alexa and Tyra.

It was a little tricky to find the place as everything around it was very different. But at least it was easy to extract the diamonds we needed.

Luckily, I know exactly where to trade the diamonds for money. And so I did.

The first thing I did after pawning the diamonds was to order a necklace for Alexa at a jewelry store not so far away. On the last full moon, she admired it so deeply that without hesitation, I approached the jeweler and requested a necklace featuring a pendant shaped like a full moon, adorned with white diamonds that I had unearthed in the mine.

The old jeweler is a werewolf; his store is tiny and modest, but I know that in the future, it will be a huge store, one of the biggest jewelry stores in Diamond Claw.

I know his future family, and I know they are very honest, so when he asked me for a few weeks to make the delicate necklace I described, I didn’t hesitate when I agreed.

He made a sketch of what the necklace would look like, and it wasn’t until he was finished that I realized two things.

The first thing was that the necklace would be beautiful and impeccably delicate.

My second thought was that I hadn’t realized that I’d seen this necklace before... and many times.

It’s the same necklace that my mother wears around her neck almost every day. She always discreetly touches the necklace whenever she is thoughtful or worried.

It’s only when I’m returning to my fated mate that I stop thinking about the chaos that all these things are causing in my mind.

It’s so confusing. At the same time, as I must be cautious to keep my secret concealed, I also recognize that everything is unfolding as it should.

If I think about it for too long, I’ll go crazy. I’m sure I’ll lose my mind.

I just hope that I’m fulfilling my purpose, even if it means risking the trust Alexa has in me should she ever uncover all my lies.

***The Healer***

Nox had eaten me out until I screamed and begged, then fucked me into oblivion two days after he arrived.

Since we arrived here in this city where most people are humans, we have been sleeping in our wolves in a forest not so far from the city.

When Nox left, I almost freaked out with the pain in my chest from seeing him getting further and further away from me. I had to control Tyra so she didn’t turn around and go hunt him down to bring him back to us.

He came back almost two days later, and when he arrived, I couldn’t stay away from him for a second. A primitive sense of feeling his skin on mine prevented us from doing anything other than fucking nonstop.

Now I know what poor Dana suffers from not being close to her fated mate. Now more than ever, I want her to go back to the central cave to at least stop having so many nightmares.

The day before yesterday, Letum was close to her when she woke up frightened after having a night terror. She scared us so much that I thought she was dying. And by the look on Letum’s wolf’s face of despair, I wasn’t the only one. She was only able to go back to sleep peacefully after Letum’s wolf lay down next to her.

That’s why he lay next to her last night, and she didn’t complain; on the contrary, she snuggled against him lightly.

As soon as Nox showed me the amount of money he had brought, the first thing I thought was that he had stolen it somewhere.

However, I know my fated mate. He is too honest to do anything wrong. The opposite could happen; he is stupid enough to give his money to other people.

That’s why I became even more suspicious. Where did Nox get that fortune? The money was so much more there than I could have imagined. I didn’t get to count, but considering the amount of money, I’m sure it’s at least five times more than all the money my parents put in that tiny box.

I cornered him so he could tell me, but he just said he knew where to get it, and immediately, he left with Letum to close the deals they had made in the city the day we arrived.

And I went with Dana to do the same with ours. At that moment, the priority was resolving everything as quickly as possible, but this conversation was definitely not over.

I sit up, wincing slightly. My butt is still sore from the roasting Nox have given it earlier.

I blush for just remembering it as I start to gather all the clothes that I washed in the river near the city and laid out to dry on the surrounding rocks. Today’s temperature was so hot, and the wind was so strong that the clothes dried in a few hours. I needed to wash some things because today is our last day here. The sun only set a few minutes ago, but the sky is still bright.

I’m waiting for Dana and Nox to arrive so we can go. Letum is lying under the tree not so far from me with his eyes closed, but I know he is awake.

I’m kneeling on one of the rocks, gathering the last of Dana’s clothing, when I feel him suddenly approaching me.

I immediately smile, taking advantage of the fact that my back is to him, so he can’t see me. I pretend I don’t know he’s right behind me.

He stands behind me then, wraps his big firm hands in my hair, and tugs my head back so he can see me. Leaning down, he ravishes my mouth with his sinful tongue.

When he draws back, my eyelids are heavy-lidded, my lips swollen, my cheeks flushed. “So gorgeous,” he says in a whisper with so much lust in his eyes that I thank Goddess that I’m sitting because my knees for sure got weak.

He removes his firm grip from my hair.

I immediately miss his rough touch.

I was so drunk on his kiss that I didn’t even notice the smell of flowers around me.

It’s only when Nox sits in front of me that I realize what he’s holding.

Oh, my Goddess, they are beautiful!

“I know they’re your favorite flowers,” he says as he hands me a Wishlove flowers bouquet.

I hold the bouquet with one hand, and with the other, I caress the delicate petals of the small yellowish flowers.

He must have collected all these flowers and made this arrangement for me himself because I have never seen these flowers sold before. The bouquet is the size of my head. I’m sure he spent some time collecting all these tiny flowers.

Nox is so sweet, I don’t know how I deserve him. “They’re pretty, thank you,” I say, hugging the bouquet of flowers.

“Your smile is prettier,” he says, holding my chin and kissing my lips. “I like it when you smile. They are precious to me,” he kisses me again.

“Okay, I’m tired of seeing you two all lovey dovey, I think we better get going,” Dana says from our side, putting her clothes in her backpack that she placed on the rock.

“What do you mean?” Nox asks, turning to her.

But I answer, “I told you earlier that we would return to our territory tonight, don’t you remember?”

He stands up abruptly, and I raise my head to keep looking at him. “What? I thought you were joking!” he says, irritated.

“Why would I joke?” I ask without understanding.

“Princess, it won’t be safe to travel at night. Besides, we’ve been sleeping here on the ground all these days. Just look at Dana,” he points with his chin to Dana, who’s next to me and looking exhausted, “and Letum,” he points to Letum lying on the ground, he’s so freaking tired. “Let alone you!” He holds my hand, his eyes soften as he looks at my body. “We need to rest in a motel at least one night before we return.”

“What? No way. We need to save money. We’ll rest when we get to our territory!” I say, letting go of his hand, still holding the bouquet of flowers.

“Absolutely not!” Nox has always been warm and kind to me, but this sudden cold tone of his went straight down my spine like ice water. “You all need to rest properly before traveling,” he says firmly.

I keep my mouth open, looking at him, ready to fight. However, I glance at Letum, who has gotten up and has his backpack on his back, and he not only seems to agree with Nox but also seems to be relieved with my fated mate’s decision.

Dana gives me a traitorous, apologetic smile as if she agrees with Nox. I glare at both of them before my gaze goes back to Nox.

I hadn’t realized how much Dana and Letum needed a little more comfort than I usually offered them until now.

I thought they wouldn’t insist on something better because they were used to this lifestyle.

Nox takes the clothes that are on the stone and puts them neatly inside my backpack, still with a serious face.

Then he looks at me and raises one hand, waiting for me to take it. “I saw a motel near the city border; it’s not that far away from here. Let’s go, Princess,” when he says *Princess* his face softens, and the corner of his lips lifts up.

I don’t hold his hand. I cross my arms and start walking towards the city.

I don’t even know why I’m angry at him or what I want, but I’m fuming. So angry I want to stomp my feet and cause a scene.

Maybe it’s because I’m not used to having someone care for me like this, let alone put up with my anger.

Besides, I’m a little embarrassed by Letum and Dana’s instant reaction of relief to Nox’s decision.

I’m their Alpha. I should be the one to take care of them.

But I can’t help but feel proud of Nox for wanting the best for them — even if I wouldn’t admit it over my dead body right now.

The little shit — also known as my fated mate — chuckles behind me, deep and manly and totally not hot, before running to me and placing his arm around my shoulders.

I still have my arms crossed and probably a frown.

Again, I don’t know how I deserve him.

“What do you mean you only have two rooms available?” Dana asks almost hostilely, almost showing her bare teeth to the human female who appears to be in her late 50s.

She looks at Dana’s size in front of the table and smiles, even though I smell her fear. “Miss, like I said, all the other rooms are unavailable. I’m currently renovating my motel, so I have just under ten rooms now, but I guarantee you that within a week, I will have more rooms available!”

She speaks as calmly as she can muster, unaware that Dana will retort. Before I interrupt Dana, however, it’s Nox who says, “Okay, no problem. Don’t worry! We’ll have both rooms, please, Mrs. Elide.”

She looks at Nox, and instantly, I feel her fear lessen; she gives him a genuine smile before saying, “Okay, wait here, and I’ll take you to your rooms. Will it just be for one night?”

The old lady doesn’t wait for him to respond, and she starts heading towards a hallway. Still, Nox answers her with a ‘yes’.

“I sleep with you, Dana.” I say with my arms crossed, looking towards the wall opposite Nox, avoiding looking at him.

I’m still upset that we didn’t do it my way. Frankly, my anger grows even more because he doesn’t care that I’m upset; he doesn’t fight me; on the contrary, he keeps smiling and treating me as if nothing has happened.

However, suddenly, his sweet smile disappears. “No! You’re going to sleep with me,” he says firmly. I feel his eyes look at my face, but I continue staring at the wall as if it were the most interesting wall in the world.

“If I said I’m going to sleep with Dana, it’s because I’m going to sleep with Dana!”

Okay, I’ll confess, I know that Dana doesn’t want to sleep with Letum, and for that, I don’t mind sleeping with her, but the main reason I want to sleep with her is just to irritate my sweet fated mate who never stays angry about anything.

There, I said it. Whatever.

I almost smirk, knowing I hit my target when I see him taking a deep breath, trying to calm himself. However, before I celebrate too much, he takes his eyes off me and looks at Letum and then at Dana. I don’t know what he saw in them, but I feel him calming down.

“It’s okay. You can sleep with Dana,” he says gently to me, even though his voice is deep. “I think you’ll feel better, right?” He asks Dana.

I look at Dana, uncrossing my arms. Dana looks at Letum and Nox back and forth before replying, *blushing*, “That’s okay. Uhm, I can sleep with Letum.”

“Are you sure?” Nox asks gently, worried that she feels pressured to answer *yes* that just for his sake. However, I know Dana very well. She would have stood up for herself if she had been uncomfortable with this situation. And not fucking blushed.

‘Are you sure?’ I mindlink her just to be safe.

She answers him but looks at me, “Yes,” at the same time, the old woman appears with two keys in her wrinkled hands.

She says something, but I don’t pay attention. I’m too busy glancing at Nox, who flashes me a small smile as if he had triumphed once more. It seems it’s going to be his way, what he wants, again.

I might smother him with my pussy while he sleeps just to get that smile off his face.
