Werewolf
Falling in love with my Ex's Alpha Chapter 226: Book 2 - Chapter 59
***The Witch***
I sit on the floor alone in my big bedroom, my hands trembling as I hold the letter — the last communication from my Lightheart.
As soon as Lexi handed me the letter, she silently left my room. After I closed the door, I couldn’t even take a step to get to the bed. No. I simply slid my back against the closed door until I sat on the floor.
My heart races as I stare at my Lightheart’s letter.
Why did she leave me this?
What didn’t she tell me about this?
I dry the tears from my eyes with the back of my forearm.
This letter contains her last precious words to me.
I know in my heart that, although this letter from her is a farewell, this is not the last time I will see her.
With a hesitant breath, I carefully unfold the letter, my fingers lingering on the paper... I’m reluctant to unveil the contents within.
My eyes scan her familiar horrible handwriting, and I smile. But I don’t focus on anything specifically written. I don’t want to read it and have to say goodbye to her yet.
My heart clenches with sorrow. Still, I cherish her final heartfelt words with all my heart.
I hold the letter in one hand, and moments later, I begin to read. I immediately place my free hand over my mouth to muffle my cries.
Oh Spirits! Every word is as if she were here, sitting on the floor next to me. I can hear her voice whispering in my ear.
*My beautiful little witch,*
*If you are reading this letter, it means something has happened to me.*
*I can’t describe in words all the things I would like to tell you, but I didn’t have time.*
*But I hope you felt all my love and devotion.*
*I’m sorry for not being by your side until the end of our days, growing old together.*
*Yet, you can be sure that I’m in a happy place knowing that my life with you was perfect.*
*I hope you can find your happiness once more, and if you find someone who makes you happy, please allow yourself to be happy again, my little witch.*
*Your happiness has always been my biggest goal.*
*Please take care of Letum and stay by his side. Sometimes, the quietest ones need our support the most.*
*That night the three of us spent together was the best night of my life.*
*Our love was perfect for me.*
*Until we meet again, I love you both,*
*Your Lightheart*
As I reach the end of the letter, tears blur my vision, mingling with the ink on the page.
Oh, Dana! My Lightheart!
I fold the letter carefully, holding it close to my chest so I can keep her memory alive a little while longer...

When I woke up the next day, I took a shower and changed into comfortable clothes before heading downstairs to the kitchen.
“Alexa!” Mom hugs me with a white cup of tea in her hand. “I’m sorry we weren’t here yesterday when you arrived.”
Dad gets up from the chair and comes to hug me, too, “No more trips for you, young lady,” he scolds me with a stern look. My dad’s short blond hair isn’t the only thing that looks like me. I’m a carbon copy of him.
“I don’t even want to! I can barely walk with a belly this big!” I say when he lets me go. Dad pulls out a chair beside him, and when I sit, he scootes it in for me.
“Do you want to explain to me where you stole that fortune?” Dad speaks firmly, his Alpha aura guiding him.
Of course, they must have already searched the backpack that I had left in the living room.
“Aren’t you supposed to be happy?” I say, taking a loaf of bread on the table and breaking it in half.
“Alexa!” Mom says in a tone that makes it clear she’s not kidding.
I stuff a piece of bread in my mouth so I don’t have to respond, but drat! They continue to stare at me, waiting for an answer. “I found them here in the territory,” I lie without looking at them.
My parents look at each other. “Sweetheart, do you have anything you want to tell us?” Mom says, standing on the other side of the table after taking a sip of her tea.
“I’m tired!” I rub my eyes, “I didn’t steal from anyone, I promise,” I snap, looking at the two.
They look at each other again. “Okay, honey,” Mom says, nodding. I keep eating the bread in my hand. “We are delighted with everything you’ve done for us. And now it’s time for you to relax and take care of yourself. You’re about to give birth,” she looks at my father, then looks back at me. “We’ll talk about it later.”
I nod without looking at them.
They know I’m lying, and at some point, I’ll have to tell them the truth.
“This shit is good,” I say, lifting the bread up in my hand.
Dad shakes his head, and Mom puts another loaf on my plate. Then they start talking about some new pack members.
I look at the fully equipped kitchen around us, as cozy as the rest of our pack, and for a moment, I allow myself to feel the happiness of having my dream come true.
A smile tugs at the corners of my lips as I chew. I did it!

Even though it’s sunnier than yesterday, I almost regret agreeing to Nox to meet me at our little waterfall today because I’m getting tired quickly.
My belly is huge!
I grab a basket with some delicacies from the pantry before walking towards the small waterfall. I’m sure my mate must be hungry!
I make a mental note that I need to talk to Nige as soon as I get back.
My smile increases as I walk between the trees and hear the sound of the waterfall.
A few steps later, I’m already close to him. I sit on one of the rocks that Nox ate me out in front of everyone, which makes my face blush.
I put my feet in the water. ‘Prince? Where are you?’
He does not answer. But I feel him close by. ‘Prince?’
I look around me and startle when something grabs both my feet. “Nox!!” I whisper-snap to him.
His head pops out of the water, and he starts laughing. “Get into the water! It’s so good in here,” he says quietly, but there’s no reason because there’s no one around.
“Okay,” I say and take off my clothes. Then he holds my hand as I step into the water.
Instantly, he hugs me before capturing my mouth in a passionate kiss as though he hasn’t seen me in at least a year. “I missed you, Princess!”

***The Deceiver***
I should have killed this fucker already. He has his hands around what is mine!
I saw Lexi first!
One more time that I see them both in this shit waterfall and just like last time, I can’t go there and separate them.
I’m hidden behind the bushes, and thanks to Kyrie’s scent camouflage potion, they don’t know I’m around.
“Did you sleep well?” I roll my eyes at his question.
“Yes, and what about?” Lexi asks with a smile wider than she used to give me. He answered something, but I couldn’t hear what he said. Something with a letter, I don’t know, the sound of the waterfall is louder than him.
“We need to find a way to be together. We can’t stay like this,” Lexi says, still with her arms around his neck. Drown him, Lexi!
Wait. Why wasn’t he with her at the packhouse?
“I’m afraid I’ll have to go back,” he says.
Back to where?
“Let’s think about the present!” Lexi responds.
“Our baby is almost born, Princess. My biggest fear is that the Moon Goddess will take me to the future, and I will never see you again!”
What? What the fuck he mean by that?
I shift into my hiding place. Is he crazy? He makes no sense!
“Don’t even joke about it! You’re going to stay here with me. With us!”
No... He has to be joking, right?
‘That would explain a lot,’ my wolf disagrees with me in my head. ‘I always knew this fucker was hiding something. But come from the future?’
Wait... Maybe that’s why she asked me not to tell her parents about him? Fuck!
That fucking bitch! I can’t believe she lied to me!
I didn’t tell anyone about this fucker because I wanted to gain points with her. I wanted her to trust me again like before! And now I find out that this slut was lying this whole time? Fucking bitch!
‘And we’re helping her hide her lies!’ my wolf growls in my mind.
I clench my jaw tightly in anger at this slut. I open the branches more so I can see them better.
“...I think that’s why I don’t want to go back to the three sacred trees. I’m afraid the sacred wishing tree will pull me back to the future!”
What?
In all the days I’ve been watching them, they’ve never spoken so openly! Fuck you, Kyrie! I needed this camouflage potion much earlier!
But I was right to let Kyrie live.
“When our baby is born, we’re going to get out of here, go to a place where we can take care of our baby without anyone knowing us,” she suggests, and he kisses her forehead.
Only over my dead body!
“Did you hear something?” he asks, looking around the waterfall.
I even stop breathing and stay still so he doesn’t discover me here.
“Nobody knows about this waterfall yet, don’t worry, we’re safe here,” that slut says, and he pulls her to a more hidden part of the waterfall where I can’t hear them anymore.
When they start to fuck again, I carefully come out of my hiding place and leave.
This slut will suffer so fucking by my side! She will be mine, but she will really regret what she did to me. And as for him... He won’t have to worry about going back anywhere anymore.

***The Healer***
Nox stayed at the waterfall while I went back to the packhouse because when I left, Kyrie wasn’t awake yet, so I didn’t get the camouflage potion. As soon as I get it with her, I’ll take it to him.
We stayed together at the waterfall until just before sunset. Now that I have arrived at the packhouse, the sun is already setting, and it seems that along with the sun, all the day’s heat has gone away. Out of nowhere, it started to snow heavily again, and the cold wind started to get strong.
“Lexi! There’s a snowstorm coming. It’s dangerous to go out now,” Mom says as I enter the living room. She’s sitting on the couch while Dad lights the huge fireplace. “Have I told you how beautiful I think this painting is?” Mom says, admiring the painting of the three trees above the fireplace.
“Yes, every day when you sit on this couch,” Dad says, looking at her with a smirk.
“Ouchie,” I cry with one hand behind my back.
“What’s wrong, honey?” Mom and Dad come to me the next instant, and together, they lead me to sit on the sofa. “Where are you feeling pain?”
Suddenly, I felt like I peed my pants. “Ahh! What is that?” I ask in pain.
My parents look at each other, “Sweetheart, your water broke. The baby is coming!”
“Ahh,” I scream in pain. “Fuck! It hurts so much!”
“Let’s take her to one of the spare rooms on this floor. We can’t take her to her room,” Dad says, picking me up.
“Ohh, I’m feeling so much pain! Where’s Kyrie?” I ask.
“She must be in her room,” Mom says. “I’m going to the kitchen to prepare what we’ll need.”
Mom usually helps most of the laboring women in our pack. Dad looks like he’s going to throw up and then asks my mother, “Honey, is there anything you need me to do?”
Mom looks at him and sees how scared he is to see me in pain. “Yes, bring Kyrie to stay with Lexi.”
Dad sets me on the bed. Good thing Nox built some spare rooms on this floor. Then they both leave and leave me alone.
Should I tell Nox?
He’ll end up worrying for nothing!
Ahhh, the fucking pain! It hurts so much!
‘Our pup is coming!’ Tyra celebrates.
Kyrie runs into the room and immediately comes over to me. “Where’s Letum?” I snap. He’s the only one who knows about Nox. Maybe it’s better if Letum goes there to tell him.
“Lexi!” Kyrie holds my hand. “Letum left with Beta, but he should be arriving soon,” she says.
“Kyrie, I need—oh fuck! It hurts!—I need the camouflage potion,” I say. I’ll ask Letum to give it to Nox.
It hurts too much for me to leave now! Fuck!
I spread my legs under the blanket and rest my head on the headboard. My forehead is dripping with sweat.
“What do you mean? Lexi, I gave the camouflage potion I made for you to Nige minutes ago,” Kyrie says confusedly, stroking my hand. “I had already given him a potion earlier, but he came back and asked me for more. When I said I only had yours, he said it was you who asked to give it to him.”
“What? Why does he need the camouflage potion?” I didn’t even see Nige today!
Kyrie sits beside me on the bed, “He actually seemed pretty rushed. He said he had to cut down the prince and his tree. You know Nige always says things that make no sense,” Kyrie shakes her head.
But my eyes widen.
No... He couldn’t have found out!
‘Nox felt someone nearby! Fuck, human! You should have spoken via mindlink! Fuck! He heard you talking! I will kill him!’ Tyra growls.
“Aaaaahhhh!” I cry out in pain. “It’s hurting so much!”
“I’m here, Lexi,” Mom says, entering the room carrying a bowl with, I assume, warm water.
‘Tyra, we need to warn Nox! He has to stop Nige!’
Mom looks under the blanket. “Oh, my Goddess! The baby is almost here! Push, Lexi, push!” she says, looking at me.
It hurts so fucking much! I have to go help Nox! If Nigel had the camouflage potion, he’d kill my prince without him knowing Nigel was nearby!
And then Nigel will end up destroying the trees!
I squeeze Kyrie’s hand tight, and she cries along with me.
I need—fuck! This pain is too much—I need to talk to my mate. I push, push, push.
But before I even speak to my mate, he mindlinks me in a sorrowful voice, ‘Princess... Meet me at the sacred trees. It’s time for me to go back to the future.’
