Werewolf
Falling in love with my Ex's Alpha Chapter 171: Book 2 - Chapter 4
I turn the man's face to me and place my hands on his cheeks. He looks absolutely freezing! He must have been out here in the cold too long! He's holding his hands to his chest, he seems to be desperately trying not to lose any more body heat!
I can't even pay attention to anything other than warming him up.
I use my gift to heal his hypothermia. I close my eyes to concentrate, but it's not necessary.
The pull I feel is too strong, when I realize it, I'm already hugging him. On top of him.
He's much larger than me, but I wrap my arms around him, sandwiching his hands in my embrace.
A few seconds later, he begins to open his eyes slowly, blinking several times and chattering his teeth from the cold. He struggles to look into my eyes as if he doesn't understand what's happening.
I could explain it to him if I weren't so distracted by his dark blue eyes.
I realize that I'm kind of holding him back from getting up with my tight hug like a snake attack, but he doesn't seem to mind.
I keep looking into his eyes. Our lips are just a few inches apart. With our proximity, I can smell his wonderful scent.
His scents assault my senses, somehow making me calmer.
'Is he our mate?' I urgently ask Tyra. I've never smelled anything as good as his scent in my whole life. Not even with Nige...
'I don't know...' she answers, not satisfied, I bring my nose closer to his neck to smell him more. I need to be sure, of course.
He remains motionless beneath me, paralyzed as if he doesn't understand what I'm doing, but the silent man is not stopping me.
'He is human! No. Wait! I can feel that he is not just a human. His scent... It looks like he has a wolf, but it's so faint I'm not sure. Maybe he's dormant. Maybe his wolf hasn't been awakened yet,' Tyra suggests. 'I like his smell. Very much,' she says in an excited voice.
'You do not like anyone-'
He turns his face to look at me, and I realize that I ended up resting my face on his neck while I was talking to Tyra.
Put yourself together, Alexa!
I decide it's time to get off of him. And so I do, I get up and immediately look around me.
I still feel like this is a trap; I feel like someone is watching us, but Tyra doesn't feel any threat.
As I turn my eyes back to the man in front of me, I realize he's now sitting on the ground and looking at me in confusion.
"Are you going to stay there all night?" I ask him, crossing my arms.
He doesn't respond. He turns his head slightly to the side as though he doesn't understand what I said.
"For Goddess' sake. Get up!" I say, and he just keeps staring at me, blinking as if I'm speaking another language.
I stop to analyze him, and I let my eyes run over his body.
He's dressed in some kind of fancy burgundy sleepwear that is clearly inappropriate for winter. He is not wearing any shoes, only white socks on his feet. His socks are clean... That's weird...
It was supposed to be dirty.
I approach him when I see that he is back to chattering his teeth from the cold and hugging himself. I crouch down next to him, suddenly curious to know who he is.
There's something wrong here... I look around me. I can't see any trace that anyone was here, so how did he get here, and what is he doing here besides freezing to death?
While I'm thinking, he continues to look at me with his doe eyes. I touch the fabric on his burgundy sleepwear, and I can see that it's something expensive.
He looks like a young noble. All his features are noble. Suddenly, I think about the Alpha King. No. He can't be related to the Alpha King. He's been on the throne for decades, and he doesn't have any heir... I don't know much about the kingdom because I visited Royal Shadowpaw when I was a kid, but I don't remember seeing this guy there. Not to mention that the kingdom is very far from here.
By his scent, he can easily be mistaken for a human. "Hey! Answer me! What's your name?" I ask him as my hand releases the hem of his fancy clothes.
He keeps looking at me with innocent eyes as if he doesn't know how to speak. He looks like he's my age, he doesn't look older than me.
"Are you lost?" I ask, and he doesn't answer again, my eyes go to his lips because he's chattering his teeth again, his skin's not as warm as mine, he must be feeling freezing.
I place my hand on his cheek to warm his face, and he places his head towards my hand and closes his eyes, seeking my warmth.
I smile. He's so cute!
My other hand strokes the top of his head down to the tips of his dark brown, long, wavy hair. His hair is almost shoulder length, it's so soft it feels like silk, it slides effortlessly between my fingers.
I know I shouldn't, but I dare to caress his dark brown, long, wavy hair a little bit more. He opens his beautiful eyes and looks into mine, now without chattering his teeth. Then, he opens a smile as if he is pleased with my touch. It is a small smile, but it's enough to show me something that makes me bite my lower lip.
Fuck. My. Life.
He has dimples. Oh my fucking Goddess!
He's handsome.
No! What am I saying! He could be a threat to me. He's dangerous!
I abruptly remove my hands from his silky, wavy hair and soft face. His smile quickly disappears, and he looks at me, scared.
'He's definitely dangerous. You can see the danger in his eyes,' Tyra says sarcastically, and I look at his doe eyes looking at me as if he's sad that I walked away.
Argh. I sigh, 'If this is a trap, it will be your fault!' I say seriously to her, but she doesn't respond. She just chuckles.
What the fuck? Tyra has never reacted like this to anyone. She is a fierce wolf, she makes me the strongest warrior in our pack, or what's left of my pack...
'We need to take him with us. Otherwise, he'll freeze to death here!' she tells me in her authentic stern tone.
I take a deep breath in annoyance, but I can't deny that part of me wants to do this.
I get up and hold out my hand to him. He looks at me with his dark blue doe eyes still sitting on the floor, "Come on, I don't have all day. I'll take you to a safer place."
He doesn't seem to understand what I'm saying, so impatiently, I reach down and grab his hand to get him up. This time, he obeys and gets up.
Wait. Wow! He's tall!
Even though I'm a tall woman, I still only come up to just under his chin.
I keep holding his hand, much bigger than mine, and start walking in the direction I saw a cave earlier. It's not that close to here, and we'll need to return, but it's the best decision. It's starting to snow, and it's going to be harder to find shelter.
He follows me obediently; his hand covers most of my hand, and I feel him squeeze my hand as the cold wind hits his face.
I am picking up my pace. We need to arrive there quickly.
If this is a trap, I must be the most stupid person to fall into it. However, I believe that not in a million I would be able to resist him.
I keep walking, angry with myself for bringing him with me, stepping harder than I should on the snowy ground.
I'm used to hate having people around, so why can't I leave him here and go on my way?
I look back with an angry face at him. The wind is tousling his hair in different directions, pushing some strands into his eyes a few times in the process. His brows are furrowed; he seems distressed by this, but when he looks at me, he gives me a shy, adorable smile.
Suddenly, I realized why I couldn't follow my path without him.
My frown turns into a smile as I smile back at him.
