After an exhausting week, I finally had a day off. When I was asked why Chad is no longer visiting me in the hospital, I told them that we broke up. Everyone was shocked except Laila, who let out her venom, she said: "Maybe he's prepared to choose a mate, so he must have thought it better to break up with you."

I wanted to scream in her face that I'm not done with him, and he wants to mark me, regardless of whether I'm human or not. But I couldn't say that, because if I do it, it would be even harder to justify why I broke up with him. Honestly, I can't think of a reason to break up with Chad for real.

He is a perfect boyfriend, I couldn't choose anyone better. Which is totally different from Kaiden, just thinking about him makes me furious. Our last conversation only served to make me understand how trustworthy his reputation is.

I'm managing to heal people in the hospital, but it's getting harder and harder to hide my gift. I've thought about telling someone there, but it's hard to know who I could trust. Jake has been doing a lot of research, but we still haven't found anything about my gift, so for now, we're keeping everything under wraps until we know what I'm going to do.

My day may be off from the hospital, but not Jake's workout. Today, Jake, Jason, and I are going to train together, finally, he accepted Jason to participate, and he is already much more receptive to their mate bond.

"Same sequence as the day before yesterday, KitKatie, I'm going to be tough on you because you're not working today," Jake said, I noticed that he had pants that matched his shirt, and his hair was not messier than usual. Did he get ready for Jason? When it's just the two of us, he doesn't care that much, I smile when I realize that, but I don't say anything. By my face, looking at his clothes, he noticed and shook his head, a sign that if I say something, he will kill me. I laugh even more. Jason was on his side, just looking at him like he was the center of the universe.

I started doing the sequence he asked for.

"You don't think it's a little heavy for Katie? She's human, she puts up with all this every day?" Jason asked, and then they started to follow me.

"See? Jason agrees with me," I whimpered breathlessly, already dying in the first 15 minutes of training.

"She can handle it, she complains every day, but she can do it," Jake said.

"Katie, when we're done, we're going to eat something really yummy to make it up to you." Jason winked at me, and I broke into a huge smile even though I was almost out of breath from my abs.

I know he wants to go eat after this so he can spend more time with Jake, that sneaky guy.

"You are spoiling her badly," Jake pretended not to like it, but he was giggling.

"I want Jason to come to train with us every day now," I smiled as I rested between sets. Jake rolled his eyes, and Jason smiled confidently.

The rest of the training was just as heavy as the beginning, when we went for a run, I ran at my humanly possible speed and let the two of them run as they see fit. They ran so fast I couldn't even see them.

When they got back, Jake was looking suspicious. What happened? I giggled and gave the water to both of them, they took it and sat down, one on my left and the other on my right.

"How was the run?" I asked, smiling mischievously.

"It was revealing," Jason said, and Jake turned red at the time, I laughed so hard.

"Okay, let's go get something to eat," I said, getting up.

"Where do you want to go, Jay?" Jake asked, and I widened my eyes and made a "hmmm" sound.

"Yeah, where do you want to go, Jaaay?" I said, mimicking Jake, he laughed and ruffled my hair.

Jason was looking at him in disbelief, I think it was the first time Jake had called him Jay.

"Er... Ah..." Jason tried to reply.

"Yep... That run was revealing," I said, teasing them.

When Jason finally said where he wanted to go, we got in the car and went. Breakfast at the bakery was very good, Jason was right. This side of the city I rarely visit, so I hardly know it well. Everything went smoothly, I missed Chad, he wanted to come with us, but now we can't be seen as a couple anymore, or else nobody will believe we broke up.

"Katie, your first appearance with the alpha will be at the opening ceremony, it will be in a few days," Jason told me, and it made me a little anxious.

"Don't worry, we'll be with you the whole time," Jake said, and I smiled at him.

"I think you guys should be seen in public before, even to give more credibility that he chose you," Jason said. "What do you think about meeting him in the afternoon? You can walk through the park."

"Jay, are you sure this is a good idea?" Jake asked, and Jason nodded.

"Okay then, I had a few things to sort out, but that might be it, let me know the time," I stated.

We finished eating and went back to the park to leave Jason because there was where his motorcycle was parked. Then we went home.

At home, I took the opportunity to take a relaxing bath, wash my hair, and put on comfortable clothes. I set the cell phone to alarm in two hours because I'm going to use that time to solve everything I need. Before time ran out, I got a message from Chad.

*'Kaiden will pick you up in an hour for you to go to the park. I already miss you, see you soon, gorgeous.'*

I smiled, I miss him, too. I responded with an 'okay' and finished doing my stuff.

When it was close to Kaiden's arrival, I wore jeans and a light green top that matched the color of my eyes, and I wore a coat over it because the weather is still quite cold.

The bell rang, and I opened the door. There was him, dressed in black pants and a black shirt, as if the cold didn't bother him, and it doesn't since his body temperature is high.

He had a serious, grumpy face. I almost closed the door because the face he had looked like he was going to take me to the dungeons.
