Werewolf
Falling in love with my Ex's Alpha Chapter 159
***Jacob***
Jake and Chad went to lead, together with Dustin, the warriors who came with us and will stay here now.
Char went to rest, and Kaiden disappeared into Katie's room along with her parents.
I took advantage of the fact that they didn't need my help and went to the car to pick up my daughter.
Before opening the car door, I can see her sleeping peacefully inside in the back seat, totally oblivious to what is happening around us. Thank Goddess!
I try to pick her up without waking her up, but she ends up waking up; my little girl rubs her eyes, "We arrive, Daddy?"
"Yes, sweetheart," I smile and pick her up even though she is awake.
"I'm hungry," she says in a bashful voice, and I smile as I walk with her on my lap to the packhouse.
"Let's look for something–"
When I was at the entrance to the packhouse, I heard someone call me, "Jake!" My mother and father come towards me from the other side of the forest.
My body tenses, and I freeze, damn. I didn't expect to meet them with Vick by my side. I'm scared of their reaction. Vick is so fragile...
They catch up to me, both in post-shift clothes, and look at me confused, "who is this little girl?" my mother asks with a smile.
"Uhm... She, uhm..."
Where's Jay when I need him?
"He's my daddy," Vick says firmly and wraps her little arms around my neck.
I can't hold back my smile. My little daughter is as possessive as her other father.
My eyes meet my parents' reaction, they look shocked and confused. Somehow, Vick's reaction gave me the support I needed, the support I expected from Jay at this moment.
"Mom, Dad, this is Vick, your grand pup," I speak as firmly as Vick, except for her pout.
"What?" my father asks.
As I don't want to talk about how this happened, I prefer to go the other way, "It doesn't matter; what matters now is that this little wolf is hungry," I answer, looking at Vick with a smile, and she giggles.
My mother comes towards me and hugs us both, "I'm so happy for you, my son! But I'm happier to finally be a grandma!" she says when she lets go of the hug. She tries to pick Vick up, and I shake my head to stop her because I know about Vick's trauma.
However, to my great surprise, Vick just goes into my mother's arms without any resistance, "Come with grandma, let's fill this tummy with lots of delicious food," she carries Vick towards the kitchen, and I look at the two of them stupefied.
My father hugs me, breaking me out of my stupor, "I'm proud of you, my son," he says, "that child doesn't look like a child who is used to being a child."
I looked at my father in awe because I didn't need to explain anything to him. He accepts it without any hesitation.
I hug him again, I'm so grateful to have parents like that, I want to be a good father as good as he is to my sweet Vick.

It's almost three in the morning when Jay finally arrives with Chad and Dustin. Dustin goes after Char immediately, rightly so, and Beth shows Chad where he's going to sleep.
My mate comes to me. Vick is on my lap, still awake, talking nonstop with my father and mother.
Earlier, while Vick was talking to them about various random things, I explained to them how we found and adopted her via mindlink.
"Daddy, Grandpa said that tomorrow I'll be able to see his and Grandma's wolf," Vick says to Jay as soon as she sees him.
He kisses her on the forehead and kisses me on my lips. I feel a little embarrassed for kissing him in front of my parents. My cheeks turn red, and he looks at me with that look that I know very well what will happen later.
"Jay!" My mother hugs him tight, and then my father does the same.
"You guys weren't that happy to see me," I tease them.
"That's true," Vick says with a giggle, and everyone laughs.
"It's not my fault my in-laws love me more," Jay says cheekily. I push him by the shoulder, but he comes back and puts an arm on my shoulder.
"If you texted me more..." my mom says, crossing her arms, "Jay talks to me every day. You only respond to me once a week," my mom accuses.
I roll my eyes, "Everything went right?" my dad asks Jay.
"Yeah, Dustin guided everything that needed to be done," he responds as Vick yawns, "all the streets are, uhm...clean, and there's border patrol now."
"Frankly, I don't think there will be another attack. They literally wiped out our most precious possessions," my dad says.
"Maybe if we take enough care, one day they'll grow again, especially because the trees are sacred," my mother adds.
"Maybe," I reply without hesitation.
"I'm sleepy, Daddy," Vick whimpers.
"Let's go to sleep," Jay says, picking her up.
"Wait, I want to say goodbye to my grandparents!" She gets off Jay's lap, goes to the two of them and hugs them both as much as her little arms can reach.
I see my mom start to cry, and my dad clears his throat. They both kiss her forehead, and then Jay picks her up.
"See you guys tomorrow, okay?" she says as we start to leave the living room.
"Okay, sweetheart," my dad responds because my mom is clearly too emotional to answer.
🐺🐺🐺
Somehow, coming to my pack and meeting my parents made Vick not be on the edge anymore. She can be around others without necessarily having Jay or me be there now.
Which is a good thing. Except that Kyrie's grand pup simply won't leave her side. Kyrie is the only witch in our pack, and I never imagined that I would have to take a deep breath to avoid fighting with her 11-year-old grandpup. Damn it!
However, I'm happy that she made friends. She didn't make any friends with children at Diamond Claw, but out of nowhere, she made friends with Kyrie's grandpup, Evan.
'Stop looking at the little boy like that,' Dustin mindlinked to me with an amused face.
'Soon, you'll be the one who has to deal with this,' I reply, and he instantly loses his smile and rolls his eyes.
We were having breakfast, and despite it being almost lunchtime, we were woken up by the news from Dustin that Char was pregnant. Jay was thrilled; Vick met Char and loved her immediately.
My parents brought Kyrie's grandpup because they thought Vick would be happy to play and befriend a kid while we were here.
Katie is sitting next to Kaiden and her parents, engaged in conversations about her pregnancy and listening to her parent's threats if they don't visit them more often.
"... And you ask me now. Oh, handsome Jason, what will we do?" Jay says playfully from my side to Dustin, Char and my parents.
"Oh my, so humble, brother. Drop your incredible thought," Char says ironically and laughs at him.
I don't know what they're talking about. I'm still focused on my little girl. Evan takes a muffin from the table and puts it on her plate, and she smiles at him.
*She smiles at him*!
"We can't go to the forest to play, but we can go to my house. I have several toys in the yard that you'll like!" Evan tells her, I almost can see the form of a heart in each of his eyes.
I open my mouth, ready to stop, but Chad on the other side of me, who until then was silent, interrupts me, "We urgently need to go back to Diamond Claw!" he says.
Everyone stops talking, except the children, and looks at him, waiting for him to continue. "The third round of the tournament has been announced and is about to take place. The location to be provided has been drawn, and Diamond Claw has been chosen!"
