Werewolf
Falling in love with my Ex's Alpha Chapter 210: Book 2 - Chapter 43
***The Traveler***
Screams echo through the walls of our small house, waking Alexa and me up.
Even though we both know the reason and who the screams belong to, we don’t stop ourselves from running to Dana in the room next to ours.
“Shh, you’re okay. You’re safe, I’m here,” Letum reassures Dana, running his hand down her back as she wipes the tears from her face. Dana’s tanned skin is pale, looking like she’s seen a ghost.
I sit next to her bed and hold one of her hands. Poor thing is shaking.
I look at my mate, and she seems to understand what I mean even without me mindlinking her.
It’s been almost a week since we fucked at our small waterfall, and since then, some things have gotten worse. Nigel always seems to look for reasons to argue with Alexa or make her stay away from me, but the fucker is smart, I can give him that. He does it in a way that prevents Alexa from fighting with him.
Since then, Nigel and Rose haven’t lifted a finger, and things took a turn for the worse when A confronted them about their lack of contribution, bluntly questioning why they bothered showing up if they were just going to be as *useless* as they’ve been.
Nigel became angrier.
His mouth dropped open. That stab of satisfaction I got at seeing Nigel’s ugly face definitely made me a bad person.
But I didn’t care.
Not one bit.
“It’s time to bring our members to our new territory,” Alexa says firmly at the same time as Nigel and Rose appear at the door.
“What?” Nige asks sharply, crossing his arms. Rose winces at his tone but remains by his side.
“You heard me,” Alexa repeats, turning to him and then returning her gaze to Dana. “Tomorrow, you and Nige will go to the central cave and come back here with our members that are there—”
“We can’t do that! Things here aren’t ready yet!” Nigel responds, looking furious at me.
“And whose fault is it, Nige?” Dana speaks through her teeth. “You and Rose were supposed to help us, but it seems like you just came to see Lexi and Nox having sex! It was the moment you focused most on doing something!”
Letum snorts, and I stifle my grin after seeing Nigel’s angry red face.
“Shut up, Dana!” Nigel shouts at her.
“Don’t talk to her like that,” Letum gets up from the bed.
“For fuck’s sake,” Alexa pinches the bridge of her nose. “That’s why I’m sending you and Dana to go, Nigel.” Alexa speaks with her Alpha aura. “Letum will stay here to help us finish everything. Rose can stay or go. It literally won’t make *any* difference.”
“I’d rather stay, Alpha,” Rose says pleadingly. She doesn’t even want to bother helping the people who will come here, and I’m sure she literally won’t do anything at all while she’s here.
“You guys go to the central cave and talk to my parents about the best way to get everyone here. Whatever they decide is good for me.” Alexa says with a stern face, but then she turns to Dana and her gaze softens. “Dana, for Goddess’ sake, bring Kyrie with you!”
Dana smiles at Alexa, as does Letum. “Yes, Alpha!” she says while playing with the bracelet on her wrist that Letum gave her.
Nigel bares his neck in submission to Alexa before leaving the room, with Rose following him, but I can feel his anger in his dirty aura.
“Are you okay?” I ask Dana.
“Yes... Well, I’m better now that I know I’m going to see my little witch and bring her here!”
“She’s going to love the house we built for you two,” Letum tells Dana, and she gives him a short nod with a shy smile on her face.
Alexa grabs my hand and pulls me back towards our room. When I leave, I see Letum lying next to Dana in her bed.
Alexa sighs, “Now I can’t sleep!”
“I know a way to relax you,” I say with a smirk, pulling her closer to me. She barely holds her own smile.
Two orgasms later, she was already sleeping with her head on my chest and a peaceful smile on her face.
However, I stayed awake the rest of the night thinking about what I will do when the pack members come here.
I also feel a pang of anguish echoing in my heart as I sense that my purpose is almost being completed and that I will have to return to a future that does not include my girl.

***The Healer***
Letum helps Dana set up her huge backpack on her back. Nigel is ready to go, he has a frown on his face and his arms are crossed.
The sun had already risen a few hours ago, and as soon as they ate, they began to prepare for the trip.
I was reluctant about my decision, but I believe it is the best choice. Things are not 100% ready here, but at least people will live better here than in the central cave.
In addition to being more comfortable, especially for older members, there is more freedom to be able to shift whenever they want, and also, they do not need to hide.
I’m happy that Letum is staying because he will be very helpful with most of the remaining tasks.
Nox goes to Dana and gives her a tight hug, spinning her around in the air even though she has a giant backpack. She chuckles, and Letum and I smile. “Stay safe,” Nox firmly says as he lets go of her.
Dana turns to me, “Who’s your favorite?”
“What?” I ask her, confused.
She asks again, “Who’s your favorite?”
I roll my eyes, “Bitch, you know it is you!”
“I know,” she says arrogantly, “I left a surprise for you at our new packhouse,” Dana says smiling with a suspicious look at Nox.
I scoff, “I’m afraid to ask what it is,” I say, hugging her. “Please, give my parents a big hug for me. Goddess, I’ve missed them so much,” I say, and she gives me a curt nod.
“Come on, Dana! Let’s go!” Nigel says impatiently. “This way, we’ll only get out of here at night!”
Rose leaves our house, goes to Nigel, and puts something inside his backpack. Then she hugs him and kisses him. I turn my face to look at Dana and Letum.
My mate approaches me and hugs me from behind, kissing my neck. I feel sparks all over my body.
Dana and Letum look at each other before they release their hands, appearing to speak via mindlink.
Nige tries to approach and hug me, but Nox growls when he gets close and tightens his arms around me.
Nigel takes an angry step back, but something wicked passes through his eyes before he says goodbye from afar. Yeah, he doesn’t like Nox.
“Come on, Nige, I don’t have all day,” Dana says, bumping her shoulder into his. “I want to see my little witch! Let’s go, chop chop!”
I laugh at Nigel’s expression, “You’re the one taking so long, Dana!”
They leave, and I start giving Letum and Rose the day’s orders. Then they start doing what I said.
“Do you want to see your surprise now?” Nox asks me. Today, he is wearing black shorts and a blue tank top in the same color as his eyes. The day has barely started, and the sun is already scorching.
I like summer, but I can’t wait for fall to start soon. Tyra is suffering from this warmth because her fur is heating up quickly.
“Let’s go,” I say, holding his hand. We start walking towards the packhouse, which is not very far from where we are.
The packhouse is almost totally completed; there is some furniture left, but there is nothing that will stop us from moving there straight away.
“Close your eyes,” Nox says but places his massive soft hand under my eyes, preventing me from seeing.
“Okay, now you’re scaring me,” I say jokingly, and he laughs. His laugh calms me down as much as the good hug that only he knows how to give me.
He opens the door and leads me to where he wants me, and then he takes his hands away from my eyes. “Ta-da!” Nox sings.
My mouth opens wide because I am shocked by everything around me. We are in the first living room. The last time I was here, it was just plain, painted, and empty. But now everything is magnificently different.
As I step into the living room, I’m greeted by a sight that embodies the essence of fall. The spacious room is adorned with rich, earthy tones reminiscent of fallen leaves. The walls are painted in warm colors of amber and cinnamon, casting a comforting glow throughout the space. Plush sofas and armchairs in soft, velvety fabrics beg me to sink into their embrace, promising hours of relaxation.
I just want to plop down and relax.
“How?” I ask Nox, dumbfounded. “Just... how, Prince?”
He just smiles at my reaction while I look at every single thing that is different around me.
The centerpiece of the room is a grand fireplace. Above it, a majestic painting of the three trees in full autumn splendor.
“Did you paint it?” I ask him in disbelief.
“Yes,” he says, a little bit shy, running his hand at the back of his neck as though he is unsure of something. “Did you like it?”
“Like it? I love it! How did you know what the three trees would look like during the fall?” I ask confused. I’ve known him since last winter, and we haven’t seen what the trees will look like in fall yet.
He widens his eyes, then softens. “I have a creative mind; I can already picture what it would look like,” he says dismissively as if it were not a big deal.
“They are a little bigger than they are now. I hope they grow a lot like they are in the painting—”
“Did you like the decoration?” he interrupts me by asking, pointing around us.
Heavy velvet curtains in deep burgundy frame the large windows of the packhouse’s first living room, adding a sense of opulence and warmth.
And the floor? It’s covered with a plush woolen rug in shades of burnt orange and gold, providing a soft landing for my feet. Elegant wooden furniture with intricate carvings adds a touch of sophistication to the room. Plus, the room has these fancy brass accents and crystal chandeliers, adding a touch of luxury.
As I take in the cozy yet luxurious ambiance of the living room, I feel a sense of peace wash over me. It’s the perfect place to unwind and savor the beauty of fall in all its glory.
“It screams fall vibes, Prince!” I say, looking at him in disbelief at how perfect this living room is.
“Yes,” he says and turns to me, then, I feel his arms wrap around me; immediately, I sigh contentedly. “After you told me that your dream was for the packhouse to change its decor with the seasons, Dana and I began planning what the packhouse could look like the following season, in the fall, because that will be the season when the members will get here,” he confesses, kissing my forehead. I feel a little sadness from him through our mate bond, even though he doesn’t show it in his demeanor.
“Is that why you two decided to be responsible for the work at the packhouse?”
“Yes,” Nox says, stroking my head.
“I don’t have many dreams, Nox. Besides having a new territory to call ours, I always dreamed of our packhouse having the tradition of always changing the decorations according to the seasons. I know... it’s pretty silly,” I repeat, trying not to cry. “I loved it, thank you! You and Dana did a great job!”
I hug him tighter, burying my face against his chest, “If I could, I would make all your dreams come true, Princess.” He kisses the top of my head. “And no. It’s silly. I’m sure that the future generations living here will continue this tradition you created.”
He talks with so much confidence that I dare to believe it.
🐺 🐺 🐺
Rose said she needed to rest because the absence of her fated mate had been causing her to suffer chest pains in the last few days.
I am a healer, but there are certain pains that I cannot heal. And this is one of them.
However, it didn’t make much of a difference at all because Rose wasn’t helping much before she decided to ‘start’ resting.
I woke up so hungry that I could eat everything in the house.
We haven’t moved to the packhouse yet because I’m waiting for my parents to arrive so we can start living at the packhouse together.
I get up and follow the delicious smell coming from the kitchen.
My stomach rumbles loudly.
“Pancakes?” I ask, sitting on a chair at the small kitchen table.
My Prince, wearing a white apron over his black shorts and black tank top — which is enough to practically make me drool since his ripped arms are on full display for me to see — responds with his back to me, “Yes.” Then he turns just his face toward me without stopping what he’s doing on the stove. “Do you like it?”
“It depends,” I respond, crossing my arms even though I know the smell is freaking delicious.
“Well, I’m making chocolate chip pancakes,” his sweet smile before turning to put the pancakes on a plate for me makes me melt for him.
Seriously. *What the hell have I ever done to deserve him?*
Suddenly, he sets down the plate with small, perfectly round pancakes piled high. I can see chocolate chips inside them, but I almost drool when he adds the chocolate syrup on top of the pancakes.
Not even the pancakes I ate at the restaurant in the city we were in were as visually perfect as these. Also, Nox’s pancakes smell delicious.
I bet Nox’s pancakes are tastier too.
I take a bite and almost melt.
I take another bite and another.
And I moan.
So fluffy! So tasty!
“I know, I know,” he says infuriatingly smugly. “I’ll take that as, *‘Oh, Prince! It’s delicious! Everything you do is so so perfect! For me, you are better than everyone else!’*,” he says, mimicking my voice; I roll my eyes at his tease.
I scoff between bites. I don’t answer because the little shit is right.
He takes off his apron and sits next to me. He sniffs intensely at my neck while I continue eating. Today, his long hair is in a little bun.
His body suddenly tenses, and I immediately stop chewing with the food in my mouth. He smells me again, nuzzling my neck.
Suddenly, he jerks his face to me with wide eyes, and I swallow the pancake in my mouth.
“What is wrong?” I ask, startled by his demeanor. He looks like he saw a ghost. Could it be that I stink?
“Princess...” He kneels on the floor and drags my chair towards him, getting between my open legs. Nox places one of his hands on my abs. His voice comes out haunted and shocked, “You’re pregnant!”
