'*Are you awake?*' Jay texted me.

It's almost 1 a.m., and I still haven't gone to sleep; my head is full of thoughts. After I left the training, I did everything so automatically that when I realized I was already lying in bed.

Jay has been texting me every day. I wish I had accepted our bond as he has. I still can't believe how it was so easy for him, without any questions or complications.

But with each passing day, I realize how much stronger our bond is getting. I can't be as reluctant as I was before. On the contrary, Zyon and I increasingly want to stay close to our mate.

'*Why aren't you sleeping yet?*' I answered.

'*I've been waiting to talk to you,*' he replied immediately.

'*What are you doing?*' I asked.

'*Trying to sleep, and you?'

'I was solving some work things on the laptop, but now I'm trying to sleep too.'

'Were you using the laptop on your lap in bed?*' he asked.

'*Yes, why?*' I replied I did not understand the reason for his question.

'*Your laptop is so lucky it gets to sit on your lap,*' he replied, and I smirked. Immediately my dick got hard.

'*Would you like to stay in my lap?*' I couldn't resist. I had to ask.

'*Anytime, baby. ANYTIME*!' he replied.

After a few more messages, we went to sleep. I went to sleep with a warm heart. I didn't expect a male to be my mate, but more and more, it seems that we complete each other in a way that I never imagined.

The next day, I had the day off, so I took the opportunity to sort out some backlog at work and cook food for the week. I don't really like to cook, but at least when I cook, I'm sure Katie is eating healthy. Usually, she cooks the food, and her cooking skill is so good that she could open a restaurant. Our dynamic of me training her and her cooking for both of us works very well. I made the food this time because she was very busy at work, and I wanted to lighten her tasks a little.

Once I was done, I went to take a shower, shave, and change into casual clothes. I'll be meeting Jay shortly. It was difficult to reconcile our free time because his work as Beta is 24 hours a day. Seeing him dedicate so much makes me feel even more proud of him.

A few minutes later, he texted me, saying he was already at the door. When I opened it, I was in awe of how handsome he was. He was wearing a green t-shirt that outlined his muscles, it looked like he bought this t-shirt two sizes small, I held back my urge to go there and check out his muscles with my hands. Jay is a very attractive guy.

"Do you like spicy food?" I asked him, trying to focus my eyes on his eyes and not his body.

"I'm spicy in bed, so yeah," he replied with a smirk. I smiled and rolled my eyes.

"Let's go to this Mexican restaurant that opened up near here, then," I said as I walked out of the apartment.

The restaurant is less than a mile from my apartment, so we decided to walk.

At a cozy, candlelit restaurant, we sat across from each other, I looked into Jay's eyes, and they were filled with excitement as mine was filled with curiosity.

As the waiter brings out the first dish, a plate of fiery chicken wings, Jay raises an eyebrow and smirks mischievously. With a twinkle in his eyes, he picks up a wing and takes a small, deliberate bite, savoring the intense heat. He leans back in his chair, crossing his legs seductively, and locks eyes with me.

"Wow, this heat... this dish is so hot, it's making me weak in the knees! I hope you're ready to handle the heat," he exclaims in a low, playful voice.

I let out a soft chuckle, a hint in my eyes of desire mixed with my laughter. I was captivated by the tantalizing combination of spice and innuendo.

"Oh, trust me, I can handle the heat just fine!" I responded, playing along, raising an eyebrow with a cheeky smile.

As the evening unfolds, we continue to explore the menu, daring each other to try the spiciest dishes. With each bite, we exchange knowing glances, we laugh, we tease.

Amidst the backdrop of our playful banter, our bond is undeniable. I feel a deep resonance within my soul, a feeling that I have found someone who understands them completely.

As the night comes to a close, we share a final, lingering gaze.

"So, have you ever been in a relationship before?" I asked Jay as we walked towards my apartment after leaving the restaurant.

"Yes, actually, I have a relationship. I have a girlfriend." He answered. I immediately stopped walking and looked at him, not understanding what was going on. How does he have a girlfriend? After everything he told me, he says he has a girlfriend? And he just decided to speak now?

"I'm joking, Jake," he reacted with a mischievous smile. I sucked in a breath, I was so shocked I held my breath.

"It wasn't funny," I said furiously, but smiling because I was relieved that he didn't have a girlfriend.

"Have you ever liked any other boys?" I know his answer, he already told me that, but I want to be sure.

"No. I like only you, Jake," he answered with a bright smile that I held back from kissing him.

We continued walking in silence, our pinky fingers brushing against each other as we walked. A little while later, we arrived at the door of my apartment, and we entered.

"Well, it's getting late. I have to go," he said.

"Next time you can sleep here, the living room has a great couch," I suggested, blushing.

"Why not in your room? Your bed is enough," he said with a smirk. Jay doesn't miss a single opportunity!

I chuckled, and then we stared into each other's eyes for a few minutes in silence.

I can feel his emotions, I know what he's going to say.

"Please don't reject our bond," he said sadly, and I could see fear in his eyes.

"I won't, Jay." I took a deep breath and answered. I stepped towards him, that way, we were right in front of each other.

"You're cute, I'm cute. Let's mark each other!" He said with a smile full of lust.

At that point, I didn't know what else to say to him, so I let my emotions get the better of me. I leaned towards his lips and kissed him.

Our first kiss. I can't describe the relieved and horny feeling that was when my lips touched his lips. It seemed like the right thing to do. I've kissed a few girls before, and it's nowhere near the thrill of kissing Jay.
