If I had to describe myself in one word, it would be fearless. I'm not afraid of anything. No matter what I do, I always know it will succeed. I want it, I get it.

My whole life, I've been trying to overcome myself every day. I work tirelessly so that my title of best warrior in my pack, after Alpha, is not just a title.

Since I was named Kaiden's Beta, I've been relentlessly proving my services. Being Diamond Claw's Beta has never been easy because for the pack to get where it is, we had to work our asses off a lot.

I always knew that my main job would be to protect our luna, but that was never necessary, as we never had one.

My parents died in the big rogue attack years ago, and since then, it's just been me and my older sister. She is also part of the pack warriors, so we are always close to each other. I'm proud of her because she is an excellent warrior.

I always wanted to have a big family, but that desire was increasingly discouraged as I waited for my mate. Every year that passed, every place I visited, every female I met, in all of this, I looked for my mate and never found her.

Who would have thought I'd find my mate in my pack? Who would have thought that I would meet my mate at a casual gathering of friends?

I never imagined that this would be how I would find my mate. It looked so easy that I still can't believe it.

When I felt his scent filling all my senses, I wanted to run to him and never let go of him.

I never imagined that my mate would be a man. I've never been interested in men before. If someone told me my mate would be a man, I'd ask if the person was smoking wolfsbane!

However, when I finally met my mate and saw that he was indeed a man, it didn't make the slightest difference to me. I didn't have any moment of shock like he did. I was just sure that the person in front of me was mine. He was made for me.

I was sad to see that he wasn't happy when he found out. Of all the punches I've ever taken in my life, none compares to knowing the possibility of him rejecting our mate bond. However, this is a matter of time, he will accept. And I will do everything to prove it!

When Chad took me to meet them, and I met Katie, I was very happy because as soon as I met her, I immediately felt a strong connection, as if I had to protect her at any cost. I found it strange because I had never felt that for anyone. I was happy to know that my mate lived with someone so special.

To try to get to know him better, I decided to act. At first, I thought that Katie would be against our relationship, but it was completely the opposite. I saw how much she did everything to answer my tireless questions about Jake. Oh, Jake. When will we be together?

She told me so many things about him that I fell more and more in love with him. I wanted to be close to him. I wanted to be part of his routine. I wanted him! But I need him to accept that first.

With Katie's help, I decided to buy him a gift. Although I didn't understand much about fashion, Katie went with me and waited for me to decide what I wanted for him and then with her approval, I decided to buy him a man's dress shirt.

After giving him some time to think about us, I decided to meet him after he finished work. He suggested I wait for him at a Cafe that is close to his workplace.

As soon as he was close, I could already smell him. Ansel went crazy into my mind!!

I got up from my chair as soon as he walked into the Cafe. When he saw me, he walked over to my table with cold eyes.

I waited for him to sit down, and then I sat down.

"Hi, how was training today, Jake?" I didn't know what to say. It seemed he didn't want to be here.

"It's Jacob for you. Only close friends call me Jake. What do you want?" he snapped, crossing his arms.

"We need to talk about us. I know it's not what you expected. I also didn't imagine being in this situation, but after meeting you, I realized it doesn't matter to me," I said hopefully. He sighed and uncrossed his arms.

"Look, from what I saw about you, you are a person who thinks completely differently than I do," he gestured with his hand in my direction. "I still need time to think about this situation," he ran a hand through his hair.

"I know we're different, but from what Katie told me about you—"

"Did you and Katie talk about me?" he asked in surprise with wide eyes.

"Hell yeah, she's my friend," I teased him.

"She's MY best friend," he emphasized 'my' and I tried not to laugh. Will he be possessive like that with me, too?

"I talked to her about you because you don't talk to me. If you gave me your number," I said with a suggestive look at my cell phone. "I could find out about you from you." He looked at me for a while, trying to decide what to do.

"Okay. Give me your cell phone," he said and extended his hand. I quickly gave him my cell phone. If he asked for my house, I would give it to him as well. He typed his number and then gave it back to me.

"I need to go now," he motioned to get up, and my heart immediately ached. I want him here.

"I have something for you," I took the gift and handed it to him.

"What? No, I can't accept that," he said, pushing the present back towards me. I felt like crap.

I thought I would never be afraid of anything. However, Jake has shown me that I am completely wrong. I finally figured out what I'm afraid of. I'm afraid of Jake's rejection.
