Falling in love with my Ex's Alpha Chapter 67

Okay, so this is the time I run from the big bad wolf.

Even though I'm not involved in Little Red Riding Hood's story, I'm almost certain that from this wolf's growl, he wants to eat me alive.

Abruptly, Jake and I get up, and Jake immediately puts me behind him in an attempt to protect me in case Kaiden attacks.

Well, that wasn't the smartest decision for Jake because Troy started barking and growling nonstop.

"I'm not going to let you attack her," Jake says firmly, and I can hear in his voice that his wolf is on the verge of shifting.

Troy barks even more and takes a few steps towards us. I widen my eyes at him and Jake while holding the hem of Jake's shirt.

I'm scared of Troy, but I don't think he's going to kill me because I'm his fated mate, right?

I hope so.

"Kaiden, please, I need time to understand all of this. Please don't attack Jake," I beg, even though I don't think he can kill me, based on Troy's furious look at Jake, I don't think he's thinking about rainbows right now.

Troy barks even more like he's upset with me. I should be upset with him, he doesn't even dare steal my moment!

I can't hear anything. Troy's growling and barking are so loud that I don't even know when Jason comes in and appears out of nowhere behind Troy.

"Get him out of here, Jay. Katie's trembling with fear," Jake yells at Jason, hoping he hears over Troy's barking.

I didn't even realize I was trembling. I look at my hands and can see how much they are shaking. I hate fights, I hate confrontation, I feel vulnerable and powerless.

I can't even say anything because Troy's attention is all on Jake.

Jason stands still for a moment, and I imagine he must be mindlinking Kaiden, as he has stopped barking and is "just" growling.

"He wants Katie to go with him," Jay says hesitantly, rubbing the back of his neck.

"What? In this ferocious state of his?" Jake yells, "Are you crazy?" he asks while stretching his arm behind me as if it were a cocoon to protect me. "He might hurt her!"

Troy gets angrier and barks even more.

And he goes after Jake at an absurd speed. My heart almost comes out of my mouth. However, before getting so close, Jason steps in front of Jake and faces Troy, in yet another mindlink conversation that we don't know what they are saying.

At these moments, I wish I had a wolf so I could communicate like that, but even if I had a wolf, I'm not even from Kaiden's pack, so theoretically, it wouldn't do any good at this exact moment.

"He's not going to do that to her, Jake," Jason turns his face and looks at Jake, "she's his fated mate."

Troy continues barking while Jake decides what to do, but I gently squeeze Jake's shoulder, and he turns to face me, "Jake, I'm going with him. Clearly, I'm not going to have the time to assimilate all of this, and truth be told, I'm scared of him attacking you," I whisper the last part close to his ear.

However, it doesn't do any good because Troy gives two barks in agreement, as if confirming that he would do just that.

Damn boosted wolf senses.

"He is sure?" Jake exhales a breath.

I come out from behind Jake's cocoon and walk close to Troy. Jake takes a moment to lower his arm even after I've already left behind him.

"He wants you to ride him again," Jason says, the corner of his mouth turning up in a smile.

"Why can't I walk?" I ask, and Troy starts growling at me immediately. "Okay, okay, okay, I understand," I say with my hands raised in surrender.

Well, I didn't understand anything, but I did understand that those fangs weren't in his mouth as a decoration.

So I think I better accept what he wants.

For now.

🐺 🐺 🐺

As I ride on top of the massive Troy, the sensation is nothing short of exhilarating. The powerful muscles beneath me surge with each of the wolf's graceful strides, propelling us forward through the vibrant spring forest. The wind dances through my hair, carrying with it the crisp, earthy scent of the awakening woodland.

I just can't stop smiling, even though I was trembling not long ago with the whole situation, now I'm in such a relaxing vibe on top of Troy that I can't wipe the smile off my face, nor am I trying very hard to that.

The fading sun paints the sky with hues of soft oranges and pinks, casting a warm, ethereal glow over everything it touches. Shafts of golden light filter through the dense canopy above, creating intricate patterns of light and shadow that play upon the forest floor.

As we continue our journey, a breathtaking sight unfolds before me. A pristine lake glistens in the fading daylight, its tranquil waters reflecting the ever-changing canvas of colors in the sky. The surface of the lake shimmers like liquid glass, mirroring the surrounding trees and the kaleidoscope of colors above.

We are heading down a winding path I have never traversed before, and the destination remains a mystery because Jason didn't say anything to me about where we were going when he helped me climb on top of Troy. Yet, as we draw nearer to a cluster of ancient oak trees, a sense of familiarity begins to tingle at the edges of my consciousness. It is as if the whispering leaves and the dappling sunlight are guiding me, gently nudging my intuition.

Excitement bubbles within me as I ride atop Troy, each stride it takes sending shivers of anticipation through my body. The sheer power beneath me, the wild rhythm of our movement, it's electrifying. With the wind rushing past and the wolf's fur warm against my skin, I can't help but feel an exhilarating thrill.

Another wolf howled in the distance, and Troy turned toward the wolf sharply, and immediately the wolf stopped howling, so Troy continued on his way. I didn't see the wolf, but considering the howl, he wasn't that close.

The problem was that I got too excited with Troy's change of pace, it made me rub my pussy against him in such a pleasurable way that, unfortunately, I let out a shameful moan.

I try to camouflage it by immediately clearing my throat and trying not to think about how wonderful it is to be riding on top of this big wolf, because if I continue like this, I'm going to end up coming all over Troy.

Ohh, yes, you can bury me because I won't be able to live; I will just die of shame.

With each passing moment, the path becomes more familiar, and the realization slowly dawns upon me. I know where we are headed. The anticipation and excitement well up inside me as I recognize the place—the heart of the dense forest, a secret realm known only to a select few. As we venture deeper into the embrace of the ancient trees, I can see that in the center of the sacred place stood an intricately carved stone altar.

This is the place where Kaiden announced to the whole pack that I am his mate.

As we approach, I steady myself, preparing to slide off Troy's back. The ground rushes up to meet us, and with a final surge of exhilaration, I leap from him, landing on the soft moss below. A wave of relief washes over me as I stand on steady ground, the wolf still and patient beside me.

I don't know how much more I could take on top of Troy.

It was too good.

I pat Troy's side, trying to express my gratitude for the thrilling ride, but also silently happy because he's not barking anymore.

Or growling.

I turn to face the sacred place, ready to explore on foot.

But Troy starts growling again immediately when I turn around and take my hand out of his fur.

I turn to him abruptly, not knowing what to do or what to say.

I loved riding him. I can't contain my smile, and I put my hand on his fur to pet him, and he immediately stops growling.

"You're the most beautiful wolf I've ever seen, Troy," I confess, smiling as my hands stroke the fur on his big head.

He turns towards my hand, seeming to appreciate the affection.

"From the first time I saw you, I realized how attached you were to me despite your hothead human self," I tell him, feeling my cheeks turn red.

He gives two breathless barks as if he agrees with me, he looks at me with a happy face.

"Does that mean you like me even though Kaiden doesn't?" I ask, and he nods excitedly. His tail is swaying back and forth, and I can't contain my big smile as I continue petting him.

I have never felt so happy, my heart is so happy for this interaction with Troy.

"You're a good boy, Troy. I already like you, you know that, right?" I say, and he licks my face.

"I wish I had a wolf so bad... I'm so sorry I didn't recognize you right away, Troy," I say, and he abruptly stops licking me and looks at me in surprise.

"Despite everything Kaiden has done, I understand him. I feel like I'm not enough for you, Troy, because I'm wolfless," I confess, whispering, as a tear slips from my eye.

He looks at me in surprise, his tail stops wagging, and then he starts growling at me angrily.

"Are you mad at me because I don't have a wolf? I thought you already knew that," I ask sadly as more tears come out without stopping.

Troy shakes his head, denying it over and over, and paws the ground twice as if he is vehemently denying something.

"You don't mind me being wolfless?" I dare to ask, not believing that I'm talking to a wolf.

Well, I'm just talking. He's just responding.

He nods and then turns his head to the side as if admiring me, and then he licks my face.

"Are you serious? Are you happy that I'm your mate?" I ask in disbelief, and he immediately lunges at me, hugging me with his two paws.

I hug him while he rubs his face against my neck, I almost die of happiness with his affection.

"Aww, I guess from that answer, I'd say yes," I say happily, and he abruptly leaves me and goes to a tree not so far away.

Where is he going?

Ahh. He's going to shift, which is a shame because I get along better with Troy than with Kaiden.

After a few moments, Kaiden comes out from behind the tree, wearing only black shorts.

And just as the shift transformed him into a human, it seems to have transformed all the joy that was around us.

My smile immediately leaves my face when I see Kaiden's face of fury and hatred.

Forget what I said.

I don't need to be afraid of Troy.

It's Kaiden I should be afraid of.
