Werewolf
Falling in love with my Ex's Alpha Chapter 95
"You don't trust yourself? You don't think that you will win?" I tease him.
"Obviously, I'm going to win," he says undoubtedly as if there was no other possibility. Well, I hope there really isn't.
"Then you have nothing to fear," I say with a shrug.
"Why are you so invested in this? What aren't you telling me, Katie?" he asks suspiciously.
He gets out of bed and stands looking at me. His look reminds me of when we first met when he was only suspicious of me.
I feel awful for lying to him, but I can't tell him the truth. He wouldn't think twice about marking me. Unfortunately, I think he is selfish at that point.
"Nothing..." I say, looking away because I can't lie looking into his eyes, but I look at him again so he doesn't suspect anything, "when you become Alpha King, I'll let you mark me." I tell him, "anyway you want... wherever you want."
He gives me a naughty smirk and pulls me towards him. He does it so quickly that one second I'm on the bed, and the next I'm with my legs wrapped around his hips, "so that means I'll be able to do whatever I want to you?" he asks me in a voice so malicious that I shiver.
"Y-yes," I stutter, anxiety coursing through my veins, barely waiting for this moment.
He whispered, lightly rubbing his nose on my ear. I felt goosebumps spread over my body. "You don't know what you just signed in, mate," he attacks me with a wild kiss, invading my mouth without permission like he always does.
One of his hands is holding my hair back on my head, pressing my lips even tighter against his, while the other holds me firmly by my thigh.
Letting him do whatever he wants with me is the least I can do after asking him for this. And frankly, I don't really care what he does to me, in fact, *I can't wait*.
🐺 🐺 🐺
Time passed faster than I expected, and suddenly, we were on the road back towards Diamond Claw.
The memories I've created in this idyllic spring retreat were the best of my life.
The way back is just as complicated as the way we came, but I feel like everyone is more relaxed than before.
Everyone except Char. Her eyes are swollen, she probably cried because she had to stay away from her fated mate. My heart is sad to see her like this, I'm sure my brother must be as devastated as she is.
She has headphones on, and her eyes are closed, she is resting her head on Jay's broad, muscular shoulder.
Jay has one of his hands possessively on Jake's thigh, a mirror of Kaiden's hand on my thigh.
I look at his sexy, veiny hand and bite my lower lip, he has his other hand on the steering wheel and is paying attention to the road.
"Chad texted me earlier, said the second round will be released this week," Jay tells Kaiden and Kaiden looks at him in the center rearview mirror.
"No matter what it is, I'm going to win anyway," he replies, finishing the words by looking at me with an arrogant smirk before turning his eyes back to the road.
"We need to eliminate Duncan from this competition," Jay says coldly, "it's going to be difficult to remove Bloodmoon, but we need to try as much as we can to prevent him from reaching the final."
My heart skips a beat, and my blood seems to freeze in my veins.
What did Jay just say? Is Duncan the Alpha of the Bloodmoon pack?
Oh my goddess! More than ever, I need to protect my pack against him.
Breaking the seal is far too dangerous now that I know about it, I need to keep it intact to protect my pack and the sacred trees. Kaiden can't mark me. My wolf is best used to protect my pack and my family through the protection barrier.
My parents said that it was precisely because of the Bloodmoon pack that they needed to do the spell in the first place.
So that means it's Alpha Duncan who's been looking for my pack all these years. The same Duncan that Kaiden hates and who has a reputation for being extremely vicious.
Kaiden must win this tournament! This is now imperative.
There is a world of possibilities that an Alpha King has access to, if Alpha Duncan wins, he may discover a way to find my pack and exterminate it once and for all.
All I can think about is my grandmother. Where is she now? That is, if she is still alive.
Which I don't think she is. From what my parents said, she was a true warrior, I doubt that after all these years, she wouldn't have found a way to return to our pack.
I'm sure only death could make her disappear like that. She was too powerful.
"Can you imagine that fucker being crowned and having a powerful heir like the prophecy says?" Jay says, shaking his head and bringing me back to the conversation in the car, "we can't let that happen."
"And it won't happen." Kaiden responds, "I will be the next Alpha King!" he says with a smirk and winks in my direction. I roll my eyes in response, and he and Jay laugh.
"I didn't know you were so excited to be a father, Kaiden," Jay teases him and Kaiden's entire demeanour changes instantly.
In a cold voice, he says, "I'm not. I don't want to be a father! When I win, that prophecy will never come true."
Silence hangs in the car, I could cut the tension with a knife. My shoulders tense upon hearing Kaiden's words.
He doesn't want to be a father?
Does this mean we will never have children? I try to hold back the tears that insist on forming in my eyes. They stand on the edge as I focus my gaze on the window next to me. I can't look at Kaiden right now.
Jay doesn't say any more jokes. Jake subtly reaches between the gap in my seat and the seatbelt and takes my hand.
I hold his hand for comfort. I really don't know what to think about Kaiden's revelation.
Oh, how perfect! Just what I needed today, a life-altering revelation to make me even sadder. Thanks, Kaiden.
Maybe he thinks I'm not worthy of being the mother of his children because he thinks I'm just human?
Maybe he doesn't want to have an heir with the possibility of him being human.
This makes me sad and distressed because I wish he wanted to have a child with me and fulfill the prophecy even without knowing that I am a she-wolf.
We are almost arriving at Diamond Claw when Kaiden suddenly stops the car, making all the passengers move forward with the sudden stop. I immediately forget everything I was thinking and go into a state of alert.
"What the fuck?" Jake shouts before I ask.
"Come drive the car, take Katie to Diamond Claw," Kaiden answers firmly to Jake, looking at him as he takes off his seatbelt, "Char, Jason and I need to go to Chad."
I turn worriedly at Kaiden for answers. "What happened to Chad? Is he okay? Why do you guys have to go to him?" I ask Kaiden without stopping to breathe.
With a look as cold as winter ice, Kaiden shouts at me. "Stop asking about Chad!"
Everyone in the car is surprised by the way he reacts, but he doesn't care, he turns to Char and Jay and continues, "there's an invasion at Dawnstar, half the people in the pack are already dead, we need to go now!"
That's all he says before getting out of the car, slamming the door hard and shifting so fast that my eyes almost don't notice it.
