“Let me through! Please, let me through!”

I waded against the soldiers despite them restraining me from entering the palace but I was too persistent that I did not care even if they used their weapon on me.

I was able to run past one of them and enter the grounds but an incoming soldier swept me off my feet and threw me back to the ground, literally breaking my bones.

But nothing can keep me from seeing William. He is not dead! I believe once he sees me, he will wake up. He’s just sleeping and he will wake up in a few days just like what happened before. There is no way that he would be dead.

I don’t care if he rejected me already. I don’t care about that stupid thing anymore. What matters is that I love William with all the heart in me.

“I want to see him! William!” I called for his name desperately and crawled my way into them begging for them to let me in. “Please, let me see him! Please!”

“Ms. Alana, the alpha prince, is already dead. The alpha king and queen luna are now mourning and they forbid you to come into the palace. You have to leave now before they do anything drastic against you.”

“No!” I covered my mouth with my hands not wanting to hear any of it. “He is not dead! William is not dead!”

“Do you want to make sure he’s dead?!” A voice from my back reverberated.

When I turned around, I saw Lucas in a grim expression towards me. “Do you want to make sure that you’ve done your best to kill him off?! Alana, you are the reason William is dead!”

I shook my head again and knelt before him. “Lucas, please take me to William. I am begging you! I want to see him! I want to see William!”

He gripped both of my shoulders tightly and looked into my eyes. “What more do you want to see? His dead body? What do you want to hear? A confirmation?!”

He took out a phone from his pocket and held it out towards me. “Even I am not allowed inside even when I am the alpha prince’s beta. I know you won’t believe me but you will believe Francine.”

He pressed a button and a voice played in the background.

“Lucas, the alpha prince is dead.”

A cold shiver ran down my spine when I heard her. That was Francine! That was her voice telling me that William is really dead.

“Now that you confirmed that William is dead, you can come with me.” Lucan held out his hand towards me with a smile on his face. “We can run away and be together now, Alana. You and I will be happy together.”

I stared at him emptily and blinked. How can he say that when the alpha prince has just died? How can he smile when my heart is bleeding non stop?

I stood up without feeling anything anymore as I scanned the whole place and the soldiers who were all glaring at me. They are all telling the truth. William is really dead and it’s because of me.

They are all right when they tell me that it was my fault.

I am the one who killed William. I am the reason for all these things happening to him. If I did not come into his life, if he did not find me, then he would still be alive.

He should have just let me stay imprisoned in my cell. Never in the whole months of being freed did I ever think of coming back into the dungeon to be locked forever. But now, I would gladly choose that than be found by William and cause him his death.

“Alana!” Lucas called for me in an alarmed voice when I suddenly shifted into my wolf and ran as fast as possible.

I went to the cabin he built for me. I swam in the lake where he promised me to take me to the places he’d been to.

Minutes after, I just saw myself in front of a cliff on the side of the mountain overlooking the whole state. The flags are put on a half-mast indicating that the whole place is mourning the death of their alpha prince.

My tears fell but I do not feel anything anymore. I feel so empty inside. Nothing could fill me other than the fact that the moon goddess would make a miracle and would return William back into life.

“They are all right. I should not have been alive. I should have been dead together with my mother. I just hurt people. I just killed the man that I love.”

I took in a deep breath and looked down at the abyss, the air instantly drying my eyes.

“I’m sorry William if I will be a coward but I cannot continue living this life without you in it. There is no meaning anymore. Wait for me there, my love. I would come to where you are. We will be together again.”

I smiled before closing my eyes and letting my tears fall again. It will be over before I know it. I would be dead in an instant and I would see William welcoming me from the other side.

“Alana! William is alive!” Francine shouted at my back.

I froze in my place and turned around where I saw the woman, her eyes wide with her mouth gaping open as she held out her hands on me.

“No need to do this, Alana. William is alive! He’s not dead! Your alpha prince is alive for you! Come on. Take my hand, please!”

Maybe I was just too eager to cling on to any false hope that William is still alive because I immediately believed in her.

I took a step forward ready to accept her hand but something caught my feet and tripped me. I gasped as it pulled me down.

“Alana!” Francine screamed and transformed into her wolf to save me but it was already too late.

I still saw William’s pale face as he shifted into his wolf, before I fully descended down into the end of the cliff, into the darkness, and felt my head banged against a big boulder of rocks.

William is alive… William is alive…
