The Alpha Prince's Abused Mate Chapter 139
ARIA
“Alana… why do I feel like I have heard that name before?” I continued asking while still rooted on my position racking my brain about that woman.
I slowly turned towards the lady who’s still shouting at her attendants and stared at her.
I don’t like her face. It’s not that there’s some physical deformity or what but it’s the vibe that I am smelling from her.
The alpha prince’s wife is someone that I could dislike at my first glance. I never knew I could hate someone this much when I saw her.
Sophia kicked her servant on the face again. “Alana is dead and Georgia divorced William! Now, I have all the alpha prince all to myself and I will not let anyone, let alone a prostitute take him away from me!”
I clenched my hands and stopped the urge to slam a punch right into her face. It felt like this annoyance I am feeling towards her is automatic as if she had done something horrendous to me in the past.
“Get out of my face, you idiot! Maybe it would be better if you were dead too, just like Alana!”
And then she marched away leaving the poor girl limping and still following her.
I released the breath that I am holding and continued walking the hallway the opposite way. Alana must have been the mate of the alpha prince, the one that he’s trying to forget.
“I have to know all about her,” I muttered to myself and looked for a place to know about her.
Fixing the veil over my head, I entered the huge library in the palace and began looking for books about her but no matter where I look, the records and the books say nothing about her. They always list the alpha prince as mate-less.
“Is Selene just lying to me? But I heard her name from the mouth of the alpha prince’s wife. Surely, she is not just a fictitious woman.”
I did not give up and started looking up into other shelves even reaching the area of medicine books.
“Why am I wasting my time looking for that woman when I should be planning how to kill the alpha prince? That was my main goal here.”
Hurrying back to leave, I accidentally knock off a few piles of books to the floor.
“Shit!”
I crouched down and began putting them back to the shelves when I saw a note fall through one of the books.
I looked around before picking it up and flipping on the other side to read the note written in blood.
“Do you trust me?” I read it silently as I felt goosebumps around me.
My hair stood up in my nape when a memory that I cannot remember tried to insert its wait into my head.
“Do you trust me, Alana? Do you trust me, Alana?”
The voice in my head kept ringing and ringing but I don’t know who is speaking or what does it mean by that.
“Excuse me? Lady? Lady?”
I gasped hard and stood up with wide eyes at the librarian who’s staring back at me. “Are you okay, lady?”
“Yes, yes I am.”
I put the note in my pocket and helped her put the books back before I left the library.
But everywhere I go in the palace, I always feel like I have seen it all. It felt like I had walked on the same floor holding hands with someone.
It felt like I am living a dream except that I know I am sure inside me that this is not just a dream. I experienced it all. It happened to me before and now I am experiencing it all again.
I decided to go to Francine’s room as instructed by my instincts. The way her eyes looked at me seemed like she wanted to tell me something.
“Francine, do you know Alana?” I asked as I bent down before her. “Who is Alana? Please, tell me the truth. Do you know her?”
Her eyeballs moved up and down and I interpreted it as saying yes.
“Really? Then can you tell me who she is?”
I looked for a pen and paper and went back to her. “I will be writing letters and you will move your eyes upward if I am on the right letter, okay?”
Her finger moved slowly and she pointed it at me.
“What do you mean, Francine?”
Her finger moved again to point it at me.
I pointed at myself. “Me? What about me?”
“The alpha prince has returned but he is injured!” A panicking voice rose from the outside of the opened door. “All the doctors should proceed to his room!”
All my blood shot up into my head as I stood up and ran to his room where I waded through the people around him.
“William!” I called and rushed towards him on the bed, my heart was beating like crazy upon seeing him covered with blood and was panting hard.
Something wanted to get through my head again. I think it happened to me before too. I think I saw this same event before too.
Our eyes locked at each other and I swear to the moon goddess that it was not just me who felt this way. I can sense that the alpha prince feels the same way too.
Before I could get near him, Lucas intercepted my way and caught my arm.
“Aria, please leave. You are not needed here. The doctors need to treat the alpha prince.”
But instead of obeying Lucas, I reached out to the alpha prince’s eyes and begged for him to let me stay through my gaze. “Do you want me to get out?”
I saw the surprise look in his eyes with my gesture but I did not dare to take back my words. I want to be by his side. I don’t know what I am doing now and I certainly do not want to know but I just want to hold his hand right now.
He looked at me with a different light in his eyes before extending his hand towards me. I instantly took it and held on to it as if it’s my lifeline.
“No,” he said and gripped my hand as an answer. “Stay here.”
I nodded and sat next to him as the doctors began disinfecting his wounds. I stayed through the whole time offering him support and letting him squeeze my hand every time the pain felt unbearable.
