ALANA

“Francine, is William here? I think I heard his voice outside,” I said, all dressed up after taking a shower.

Francine took me to William’s room for me to change. I would not want to in the first place because I want to stop William from doing whatever he wants to do with Cain.

I can see it in his eyes even without telling him what happened.

Francine shook her head and smiled at me. “No, the alpha prince is still not here, Alana.”

She turned her back to me. “Please eat while the soup is still hot, Alana. You lost weight there. You can now breathe a sigh of relief now because William has woken up. He is safe now.”

I took a seat in front of a table full of delicious food but I cannot will myself to eat any of them. I don’t have an appetite and I will never be able to eat anything until William is right here with me.

“Francine?” I called her in a low voice.

She looked at me and was surprised to see me crying. Kneeling before me, she asked, “What’s wrong, Alana? Why are you crying? You should be happy now that William is fine.”

“Is he really fine?” I sobbed loudly when I recalled the fire of revenge in his eyes. “Would he be fine going against Cain? He is still wounded. Aside from that, I know whatever he’s going to do will be taken negatively against him as the alpha prince.”

She held my hands tightly. “Have faith in your mate, Alana. He is not the next alpha king for nothing.”

But it’s not just because of that I cannot shrug this heavy feeling in my chest. There is something more.

“And Francine?” I spoke in almost a whisper while my eyes began to get blurry because of the tears.

“What is it, Alana?”

I cleared my throat as my tears began falling. “I know something is wrong with us. His wolf doesn’t respond to mine as enthusiastically as before anymore, Francine.”

WILLIAM

I walked across the great room where the alpha king is currently having a meeting with his beta, the father of Lucas, and the rest of his alphas excluding some who were not able to come including Alpha Killian.

He should not have the gall to be here if he does not want to lose his face now that I know he connived with Cain to frame Alana of attempting to kill me.

They looked at me in a mix of surprise and disdain seeing me covered with blood of a relative but some were also smiling my way knowing that they would have another brave and headstrong alpha king for the next generation to come.

“Alpha king,” I said and bent my knees before my father. “Why did you call for me?”

My father only looked at me from head to toe, let out a low growl when he sniffed Cain’s blood in me, and stood up from his chair to approach me.

My knees are trembling in fear the way he looked at me but keep myself unwavering. I did what I had to do. I had his permission too.

“Did I ever fail to raise you properly, William?! I know you and Cain have a rift way before but do you have to go that far to almost kill your own cousin just for a woman?!”

I clenched my hands and stared glaringly at one of the alphas in the crowd who is Cain’s father. How dare he take this matter into the alpha king when he knew right from the very start that it was his son’s nature to force himself on women. He also did that to Margarette before inciting the poor woman to jump off the cliff to save her honor from being taken away from her.

“Alana is not just any woman I know, alpha king. I care for her the most, father.”

My father growled at me angrily and grabbed my collar. “Is that enough reason for you to do that to him? Since when did you become so cruel, William? I said be only cruel to your enemies!”

“But he is my enemy!” I exploded as I met the intense eyes of my father. “The second he attempted to sexually harass Alana, he became the number one enemy in my life!”

I stood up and faced the whole audience stricken by shock with the bomb I brought before them. “That man I just skinned alive is not my cousin anymore!” I looked at my father and said in a firm voice. “I have witnesses and footage showing the savagery of that man that’s why I did what I just did. Alpha king, you taught me properly to be the gentlest when it comes to women and kids and be the most hated monsters to those who are going to harm them. I just did what you told me, father.”

I bowed before him waiting for his answers.

After a few minutes of silence, my father broke his silence.

“What you did is justified and I gave you my word that you may do as you please with anyone who hurt Alana. What Cain did was unforgivable and your action is right,” he said to my relief.

“But alpha king!” Cain’s father stepped in disagreement.

The alpha king only had to throw him a glance and he stepped back scrambling in fear.

“What do you want to do with him now, alpha prince? I am giving you the right to dictate the fate of Cain.”

I did not have to think because there is only one thing that is fitting for him.

“I want him castrated,” I said grinning from ear to ear. “No, not just that. I want his penis to be removed too!”

The whole crowd erupted in utter chaos.

“What did he mean by that?”

“That is a very cruel thing to do!”

“I have not heard of any case like this!”

My father stared at me seriously. “Bring Cain here now!”

The guards ushered in a bloody Cain, strapped him on the chair, and forced him to open his legs.

“Do it right here, right now,” the alpha king ordered before going back to his seat.

His father fell to his knees and begged with all his might. “Please, alpha king! Do not allow this cruelty to happen! I am begging you! My son could take any punishment but not this! Not this, alpha king!”

“No, alpha king! No, alpha king! Please, I am begging you!” Cain pleaded, turning pale all over.

But my father ignored the alpha and his son’s pleas and just looked at me. “Do you want to do it yourself?”

“No, I am just going to watch.”

“You heard the alpha prince. Do it!”

I watched earnestly as one of the omegas took out a sharp blade, stripped Cain of his clothes as he was being bound by ropes and cut his manhood in one slash.

The loud stinging howl of a werewolf being cut off in front of us was heard in the entire palace making those outside wondering what was happening.

Cain lost his consciousness and was hauled away while my father walked up to me.

“You already got your revenge for Alana so now it’s time for you to do what you promised. You should be married before the day ends tomorrow, William. Show yourself tomorrow.”

I stared at him in the eyes and nodded emptily. “Yes, father. I will.”
