The Alpha Prince's Abused Mate Chapter 183
ALANA
“Alana, please!” Sophia was able to cling into my feet when the guards dragged her away through the chains. “If you still have conscience in you, can I appeal to it? Please, do not take my mother from me! I will not live away from her! I will not survive without my mother! Alana, do you really want me dead? Do you really hate me that much?”
Without thinking for another second, I nodded convincingly. “Yes, Sophia. I hate you so much. I don’t really know why you are still asking me this when it’s evident from the very start that I hate you! I hate you for what you did to me and to William!”
I glanced at Minerva who’s just staring at the floor with her eyes empty. I guess she could not believe that this was happening to them. Their downfall is here and she could not do anything about it.
“I hate you and your fucking mother that I will forever curse your name until the end!”
I can’t help but shed tears again knowing the dead cold body of my alpha prince is just in the other room in this palace.
Just days ago, we were smiling and laughing together but now, I am crying and wretched because of these fools!
I bent down and held her chin in my hand. “Sophia, I would just really want to ask you one question.”
I took a breath before continuing. “When you were laughing and celebrating every time you, your mother, and that man hit me, the only question in my head is why? Why were you able to do that to me? Sophia, you are just like me before Killian married Minerva. If so, why did you abuse me when you abused yourself?”
Her tears fell and her mouth quivered. “Do you really want to know why? Because I hate you! I hate you for being the daughter of your oh so beautiful and elegant mother! I hate the fact that your mother has been engaged to the lycan prince when my mother should have been that person!”
“Sophia!” Minerva interrupted. “Stop it!”
“My mother was in a relationship with the lycan prince and I am his daughter!” she still continued. “I hate the fact that you are my real sister! I hate the fact that he chose to be with your mother while leaving me and my mother alone!”
That part shocked me but nonetheless, it did nothing to alleviate my pain. As if that fact could justify her actions.
If there is, it only exacerbates my hatred towards them.
“Oh, you are just jealous and insecure,” I muttered and slowly let her go. “So, you are my sister after all.”
That made my blood boil hotter than before. I only felt nothing but hatred if she's telling the truth.
“And yet, you are able to do that to me knowing full well the truth.”
“That’s why I hate you so much, Alana,” she added. “And I hate you more now for trying to make us apart! That is why you have to ask the alpha king to lift this fucking punishment on us because we only did that because of you! It’s your fault! It has always been your fault!”
I stared emptily in her eyes. Right. I just got the answer to my question. Sophia is just naturally evil who feeds on her insecurities so there is no use of talking to her now.
“Yes, I know you would say that. Of course, you will say that. Because of that, I just got rid of any possible guilt left for you. There is no more, Sophia. There has never been one in the first place.”
The guards continued dragging them away from each other in separate directions despite the pleas and begs of Minerva.
“Please, alpha king! Do not separate us! Sophia cannot survive without me! Please!” Minerva kept on yelling until the warriors successfully whisked her away from the hall.
“Alana!” Sophia growled as her last resort. “Remember what dad told you before? That you will be the end of the alpha prince? That you are the jinx to his life?”
I turned my head at her, my eyes empty.
She burst into laughter afterwards. “It happened, Alana! Because of you, William is dead!”
I did not hold back myself anymore and kicked her face causing a few of her teeth to fly out of her mouth.
She gasped in pain before erupting into another set of ugly crying.
“I will make sure to visit you every day in that fucking mine just to see you suffer, Sophia. I will never miss watching you cry for the kind of life that you never expected will happen to you. I promise you that, sister,” I said, stressing the last word to her annoyance.
The guards also dragged her outside into the armored car that will take her to the mines where she will spend the rest of her life toiling endlessly.
From the distance, Lucas is still wriggling from the pain of being eternally separated from his wolf. He is just a mere human now incapable of having the pride of one of the strongest werewolves in the palace.
I walked up to him. His eyes are empty. His body is weak. There is no resolve left for him anymore. He is not speaking at all as if he also lost the ability to do so.
“Alana…” the queen luna tapped my back. “It’s time to say goodbye to William now. H-he is waiting for us.”
I cleared my throat when I was attacked by reality again.
“Before that, let me have a minute with Alana,” the alpha king interrupted.
I looked at the eyes of the alpha king. There was a shadow of sadness and grief in his eyes.
This is not just a leader ordering me but a father mourning for his son.
“Come, Alana Harriston. I will tell you everything you deserve to know.”
