“Open the door for me and tell my husband that his wife has prepared breakfast for him,” I ordered the guards at William’s door.

“I’m sorry, Ms. Sophia, but the alpha prince is not here.”

“My mood immediately turned sour when I heard that. “Why? Where is he? I thought he would stay here in the palace to take care of that crippled woman?”

I faced the guard squarely to intimidate him to tell me the alpha prince’s whereabouts. “Tell me where my husband is right now!”

“Unfortunately, I cannot do that, Ms. Sophia. The alpha prince commanded us not to share his location.”

I growled at him but he doesn’t seem to get fazed by it. “I am the wife of the alpha prince! I am his luna so when I tell you where my husband is, you will tell me! You understand me?!”

But he just looked ahead and did not answer me anymore. To my annoyance, I reached for a glass of drink from the tray that my attendant is carrying and splashed it all across his face.

“I am the next queen luna of the state and the wife of the future alpha king so you should not dare to disrespect me again!”

I turned my back from them and marched back into my room.

“Anyone who has to stress that she is of a particular title is not worthy of that title.”

I gasped and looked at my back to see Lucas, the beta of William.

“Are you going to tell me where is my husband or are you just going to tolerate him too like what everyone in this fucking darn palace always does?”

He stepped forward and stared at my face, which prompted me to grin. “Why are you looking at me like that? Perhaps you have a particular fetish of liking your alpha’s women just like how you like that fucking mutt Alana?!”

I saw how he clenched his jaws in fury. “Do not utter her name!”

“Why? No one is around to hear us. The order of the alpha king is to not mention her name in the crowd as if she doesn’t exist and no one knows her.”

I looked around again at the surroundings. “But no one is here to hear us so we could shit and curse her name for as long as we want!”

He grabbed my arm and tightened his grip around it. “You want to know where your husband is? Fine, I am going to tell you. She brought a woman from a brothel and is treating her like she is his wife. Do you even know how insulting that is to your reputation, Sophia?!”

“What?!” I panted for air at his claim that my husband brought a woman to the palace. “William will not do that! He promised his parents that he would be loyal to me!”

He smiled in satisfaction when he saw my reaction. “He just did and you know why? Because he never liked you even for one bit. He never looked at you twice. And now he chose a prostitute over you. How nice it is to be you right now, Sophia.”

With a mocking smile, he left singing and celebrating my misfortune.

I gritted my teeth and clenched my hands. “I will never let another woman steal the alpha prince from me again! Alana would be the last woman to do that to me. Whoever she is, I will make her life a living hell!”

“Hi, Francine. I am Aria. It’s nice to meet you.”

She tucked off some hair towards the back of her neck and fixed the scarf around her neck. “From now on, if you let me, I want to take good care of you. I just felt so calm around you that I want you to be my friend.”

I stopped and just stared at them together in the living room of the cabin. For some uncanny reason, they just look so familiar together like they have known each other before. They felt more like friends reconnecting with each other rather than some strangers seeing each other for the first time.

“What do you want to do together?” She began brushing her air while smiling widely at Francine. “Do you want to eat something? See something out there?”

Francine’s eyes were focused on Aria as if she wanted to tell her something but she is not capable of doing so.

I got so curious and warm inside since this is the first time that I saw Francine this responsive to someone other than me.

Without me knowing, I was also smiling widely at them. “Why am I smiling?” I asked myself and quickly erased the expression on my face.

Aria is just a woman that would warm my bed every night. She is an instrument that I would use to get rid of Sophia. She will be the tool that would help me forget the woman without a face in my dreams.

“Aria, get ready,” I said to catch her attention.

She turned around to look at me and I could only gasp silently at her beauty. She just looked so uniquely beautiful with her unguarded look.

“Why, alpha prince?”

“We are going back to the palace now.”

“Oh,” she said and went behind Francine and began pushing her wheelchair.

I blinked and just followed her with a gaze as they walked to the car that was waiting for us.

Lucas is beside the car whose eyes are painfully gawking at Aria. I did not like what I was seeing so I made sure to walk beside Aria.

I just want to be possessive of her. I want everyone to know, especially Lucas that she is mine and there is no one that can take her away from me unless I get bored with her.

“Alpha prince, I brought another car for the lady,” Lucas said and opened the door of the other car after they loaded Francine at the back.

“No need.” I pulled Aria’s waist towards me to her shock and opened the door for her. “She will be coming with me in the same car together with Francine.”

I still saw the surprised look on his face before I climbed in the car after Aria and the chauffeur closed the door for us.
