The Alpha Prince's Abused Mate Chapter 9

“What?” I whispered, setting both of my hands to my side. “What did you say?”

Killian bowed his head on the ground and explained it to me. “My former luna and wife and the mother of that child cheated on me with another man. I am not the father of her daughter that is why I despised her! No man who has been cheated on by his own wife will be able to raise a child like her!”

My hands clenched as my temper goes up. “And no man in his clear conscience will lock up an innocent child like her in that god forsaken place!”

I lifted his face roughly using my dirty boots. “What you are claiming is preposterous and Luna Athena cannot defend herself from her graves. The mere fact that you are claiming that she is not your daughter is not a license to do those horrible things to her! Do you know what you did is a crime?!” 

I passed the leash to the guard who began whipping the alpha. 

“Alpha prince, you cannot do this to my father! He is telling the truth! You can even ask the investigators around you! They will tell you that the blood match of dad and that woman is not matched!” Sophia stepped in standing up for her father. 

I looked at her cold in the eyes making sure she knows who she is and her place in this conversation. 

“The evidence has been obviously tampered so there is no way to believe it,” I accused them in finality. “Do you take me for a fool?”

Judging by how she reacts, I can sense that she has given Alana a hard time. I breathed hard. I just don’t want to go that route because I might forget that this werewolf in front of me is a girl. 

She shook her head fervently, dread all over her face with her eyes wide. “No, of course not alpha prince. I do not take you for a fool!”

She shed her tears and cried loudly, attracting attention from the people in the room. 

“But why are you doing this to me? Why are you terrorizing me?” She held my hands while crying profusely. “Are my words not enough for you? I am your soon to be wife, the future queen luna of the nation so you should believe me instead!”

My face turned darker as I whisked her hand away and I put my hands together behind my back. “Who told you that you are going to be my luna? Are you my mate?” I set aside her hair to see her neck. “Did I mark you? No, I did not, right?”

Embarrassed, she bit her lip and cried harder but her tears did not move me any bit. If anything, it only made me more annoyed. 

I looked at Killian next. “I do not justify this kind of abuse just because you are accusing that your late wife cheated on you and that Alana is not your real daughter. I will call an inquiry on this and no matter the results, I will make sure that you will receive your punishment.”

His eyes were shocked as he begged me. “Punishment? But alpha prince, I do not deserve any kind of punishment. I only did what was right. I already told you, any man who has been cheated on his back will do the same thing!” he insisted. 

I turned back around from going into the door to clutching his collar and making sure he sees right into the indescribable fury in my eyes. 

“And I told you already that I do not tolerate such things. Alana has no sins against you. She is a defenseless innocent child who has to bear your evilness!” I took a dagger out of my pocket and aimed it at the vein on his neck to the horror of everyone looking around. “I changed my mind. I will not wait any longer for an investigation. I will hand down your punishment now. I am going to kill you now!”

But before I could stab his neck, Lucas tightly held on to my wrist stopping me from being a murderer today.

“Alpha prince, please do not do this. Remember why we are here. This will not be good news for the alpha king. Please William, relax.”

I sighed and slowly put down my weapon. Alpha Killian’s face and Sophia looked so relieved but I quickly erased their relief in the next seconds. 

“Say your gratitude to Lucas because he saved your life for today but do not think you are off the hook tomorrow. I will be back to torment you. Guards! Lock the two of them and give the alpha one hundred beatings per hour!” I ordered. 

“No, please!” Sophia kneeled. “No, please forgive us alpha prince.”

But I was already deaf to their pleas. I will not hear any of them because they came from the people who hurt my mate.

To calm myself, I went back into my room to see the only one who can make me sane for today. 

My mate Alana is sleeping peacefully on my bed snuggled into my coat, her hair covering most of her face. 

I gently sat next to her just taking her in. “I don’t know why he could hurt you like this. You are very innocent, very fragile, and you did nothing wrong. Don’t worry. I will take you with me and I will love and protect you for the rest of my life.”

I carefully parted her hair to the side so I could see what’s beneath this lovely shiny long black hair. “I will not let anyone hurt you again…”

My words were left hanging in the air when I saw Alana’s face. There are cuts and wounds but the elegance of an ethereal beauty is very evident. 

Feeling a kick in my chest, I lovingly ran a finger across her magnificent face which gradually stopped when I took an even closer look on her face, especially on the small mole in her eyes. 

I gasped when I found out who this woman I am holding on to. 

“No way… Is this you, our grace?”
