ALANA

Alpha Killian gritted his teeth, his hands clenching on his sides as he looked at his wife and to the weapons of punishment in my hands.

“Do you really think I can hurt my own wife?” he growled trying to intimidate me but I guess I am way past that already.

My mind and my heart is too hurt to discover that William is going to get married for me to even think of being scared of him anymore.

“Yes, I think you can do that because it is your responsibility. Discipline your wife daddy before I sent all of this evidence to the alpha king,” I threatened him.

I was getting stunned with how I am acting now in front of him. I must have really gone stronger because I was seeing him for who he was and what he did to me before.

“Come on, Alpha Killian. Do it right in the name of your title as the pack’s alpha.”

He forced himself to take the whip from my hand and walked to the prison cell where his wife was watching in horror every step her husband is taking towards her.

“Honey, no!”

The first whip was released and Minerva fell to the dirty floor wailing in pain.

“Daddy, no!” Sophia cried. “Mommy! Mommy! Daddy, please stop!”

But the alpha did not stop. He kept on whipping his own wife while their daughter watched.

“Ahhh! Alpha, please stop now!” Minerva whimpered and looked at Sophia whose hands are covering her mouth, obviously shocked with what she’s seeing.

I bet she never thought in a million years that this would happen, that the man who had given them everything can do this to them.

Alpha Killian continued whipping his own wife even when she’s close to fainting.

And when he hit Minerva for the 1000th time, that’s when I felt satisfied because by now, I know that the three of them somehow felt what I did for the past 18 years.

“Thank you, Alpha Killian, for doing your job,” I said to my own father after he surrendered the whip back to me that was dripping with blood. “Don’t take it to your heart, dad. After all, you are just protecting your own family by disciplining them.”

“Daddy, I hate you so much!” Sophia shouted on the alpha’s face. “I fucking hate you!”

I turned my back to them to leave but before I could take a step, something hit my head and I felt a warm liquid gushed out of me.

My world spun and a sense of danger washed over me.

“Alana, you are bleeding! Come on, stay still,” said a woman's voice that was coming too near in my ear that got me too jerked up that I shoved her away.

“Don’t touch me! Don’t touch me!” I held my head where the blood was coming from. “I said don’t touch me!”

“Alana, what is the problem? It’s me, Francine.”

Francine? I raised my head but I couldn't clearly see anyone’s face. Only blots of blood and monster faces in my head.

“Get away from me! Get away from me!”

What is happening? Who are these monsters? What do they want from me?!

In a swift move, I managed to steal a weapon from one of these monsters and aimed it at them.

“I said don’t come near me or I’ll shoot all of you!”

“Alana!” called a voice that I will never always know.

“William?” I sobbed when I heard his voice. “William!”

My vision cleared and I can see the people again. I saw Francine’s worried face, the alarm on the royal guards’ faces, and the nonchalance in my father’s expression.

And then I looked at my mate from a few meters who’s running towards me.

Finally, William is here. My mate is here.

But that happiness I felt instantly vanished when I felt my hand with a gun moving and targeting William.

“No…” My voice shook as I tried to put my hand down but couldn't for the life of me. “William, please run now!”

But it’s already too late. I swear my hands moved on their own as if they had a brain and before I knew it, I already fired the gun at William.

The alpha prince fell to the ground.

I just shot my own mate right before my very eyes.

“Alpha prince!” Everyone chorused and ran hurriedly to William.

I fell into my knees dropping the gun out from my hand shaking in both worry and speechlessness.

What just happened? Why can't I cannot control my hands? Why did I shoot my own mate?

“W-William…” I muttered with a trembling voice as I tried to crawl to him but could not because my knees do not have the energy to do so.

“The ambassadress has shot the alpha prince!” Alpha Killian announced to the entire people. “The ambassadress has slayed the alpha prince!”

Guards encircled me as they pulled me up and cuffed my hands on my back.

“No! I did not kill the alpha prince! I cannot do that to him!” I said while trying to see what was happening with unconscious William who was surrounded by doctors and nurses.

“Stop lying, Alana,” said a man behind me. “We saw how you took the gun and shot the alpha prince.”

“Cain…” Tears blurred my vision as I kept on shaking my head. “No, I cannot do that. How can I shot him when he is m-”

“I saw the whole thing and I would testify in front of the alpha king, Alana,” he cut me off. “So if I were you, I am going to shut my mouth and wait for your execution.”

He faced Alpha Killian. “The alpha king has sent his plane to us. I will take the alpha prince with me, Alpha Killian. Thank you for being a good host to all of us.”

“The alpha prince is wounded because of the ambassadress!” the alpha replied. “You should all take her with you to answer the questions in front of the alpha king! Let the alpha king punish that evil woman!”

Cain looked at me intently. “I am sure that the ambassadress will face more than that. Drag her to the plane and make sure to strap her tightly. Bind her whole body and gagged her!”

“Yes, Cain!”

While they hurled me away in cuffs and binds, my eyes were glued on William the whole time as he was being loaded in the stretcher, his bloodied chest is the last thing that I saw in my head.
