The Alpha Prince's Abused Mate Chapter 48

ALANA

That night, I came back to try to talk with William again. Carrying with me a platter of a chicken dish that I cooked, I smiled at the royal guard again. This time, I look more presentable. I am fresh from the bath and dressed with the white sundress that he gave me as a birthday gift. I am sure he will be happy once he sees me wearing it since he always complains that I don’t wear many of the gifts he gave me.

“Please, can you ask the alpha prince if I can talk to him? Please tell him it’s Alana.”

“Yes, ambassadress.”

He knocked and opened the door again to call for William. This time, I did not dare to peep at the gap because I might cry incessantly once I see any part of him.

“Alpha prince, the ambassadress is here. She is asking if you could talk to her.”

I did not hear any answer from the room so I stepped closer to eavesdrop.

“Tell her to go away. I will be busy tonight,” William said in a firm voice as the guard inside shut down the door.

The royal guard looked at me with pity. “I am sorry but the alpha prince is still tired from the trip. You can tell me anything you want to tell him, ambassadress. I will make sure to relay it to the alpha prince myself.”

I appreciate the offer but at that point, my tears are just one blink away from falling as I held out the platter to him.

“Can you please give it to him? It's his favorite. Just don’t tell him it came from me.”

The royal guard accepted the platter. “Yes, ambassadress. I will give it to the alpha prince as you wish.”

“Thank you so much,” I said in a whisper as I turned my back and let my tears fall.

Biting my lips, I ran to the garden into the creak where I poured out all of my feelings. I felt so small and ugly right now.

The alpha prince might be regretting now that I am his mate. He rescued me from being locked for years here in the mansion and now he will be hearing ungrateful words coming from my own mouth.

I won’t be surprised if he would reject me as his mate. I heard that’s a thing as a werewolf. Knowing he is the alpha prince, I am sure he could find a better mate than me.

The thought only made my eyes stung.

“I am such an ugly unappreciative fool. I am such a stupid ignorant woman for saying that.” I slapped myself. “I am ugly and stupid. I am such a fool!”

“Who said you are ugly, a stupid, and a fool?” asked the voice in front of me.

Wiping my tears, I looked up to see Francine smiling down at me. “Whoever told you that is a stupid insecure fool who doesn’t know what she’s talking about.”

She knelt before me and inspected my knee. She applied an ointment and put a band-aid on my wound. “There you go. The future luna of the entire state cannot just go around with a wound.” She pinched my cheek lightly and wiped my tears in the process. “She should always be happy and healthy because she is the most loved person of her mate, the future alpha king, the current Alpha Prince William.”

What she said only made me more tear up. “But I told him that I don’t need him, that I can stand by my own feet without him. I have become too proud that I lied. Francine, will he reject me now? Will he not want me to be his mate anymore?”

The woman only chuckled as she sat down next to me. “William is such a novice when it comes to handling relationships. Well, it is understandable that he cannot handle such strong and deep feelings around you since it’s the first time he is feeling this way. He tends to get easily overwhelmed you know just like the first time he flew that ended up in a very freak accident.”

I gasped and waited for her to finish her story but instead of continuing, she just sighed and brushed my hair. “Do you know how shocked I am when someone reported to me that the alpha prince coerced the airport officials to give him a jet? And I was more shocked when I heard that he is the one who maneuvered it. And man, I jumped in my seat when I learned that he successfully did it. He landed that damn jet successfully.”

She took my hands and squeezed them together. “He came here for you, Alana. He risked everything and conquered his trauma just to get here for you. Rejecting you would be the last thing on his mind right now. Rejecting you just because he heard words that you obviously do not mean. The alpha prince would be the most idiotic man I know if he did that.”

“He came here for me,” I murmured when it all set in my mind. “Did he really come here for me, Francine?”

The woman laughed. “Yes, he did. You are his mate, Alana. You are the center of his universe.”

I got up and ran back to the inside of the mansion, uncaring if I was still crying or not. This time, I will be the one to knock on his door and offer him the food I made. But first, I gotta take that food from the royal guard.

But all that just went flying out of my head when I saw who had just gotten out of the alpha prince’s room.

It was Sophia in a very beautiful evening dress.

She grinned at me as she crossed her arms mocking me with that annoying look on her eyes. “See? I told you already. You are just one delusional woman now, Alana.”

“Where are you going?” I still managed to ask despite the fact that all of my nerves are frozen in pain and shock.

I can’t believe William let him in the room while he refused to let me in.

“Me? I am going with the alpha prince to dine with him while you are going to spend your night alone and miserable. Bye, Alana!”

She waved her hands at me and sauntered down the stairs celebrating.

The door opened and William came out.

“Will-”

He just went past me, not even throwing me a single glance before going down the stairs and climbing inside the waiting car. I can only follow him with my tear-filled eyes as they drive away.
