The Alpha Prince's Abused Mate Chapter 159
ALANA
“What’s even worse is you were betrayed by a person that you trusted so much.”
I surveyed her sorry state from her unresponsive body to the emptiness in her eyes. “Francine, I am sorry that Lucas betrayed you to take me and William down. I know how you cared about him. I should have listened to you when you warned me before about him.”
Back when I was returning to my village, she told me to be wary of Lucas. I did not realize what she meant until now.
“I will do everything I can to help you. I swear I will return your life back to you.”
Kissing her head, I uttered a small prayer before walking out of the room and seeing Lucas right outside the window staring at me suspiciously.
I stopped in my tracks and arched him a brow as I felt my blood surging.
“What are you looking at?”
I walked past him while keeping the turmoil in me in check. I need to see William. I need to touch him to calm myself or else I am going on a rampage.
“It’s impossible. I made sure it will be impossible,” he spoke in my back prompting me to stop walking away from him. “I was the one who collected the remnants of her body and clothes. I saw it with my own two eyes.”
I gasped silently when I felt the hair on my nape rising. I would bet my whole life that he is talking about my fall and supposed death on the cliff.
Turning back around, I decided right away that I hate him more than I should hate Zuleik and Sophia.
“What impossible thing are you talking about?” I asked with my teeth gritting, the heat coming from my core rising at the most dangerous levels.
If he spoke another thing about my death, then he would really have to kiss goodbye to his limbs now.
“Did you know that Alana is the reason why the alpha prince is so weak? She makes him all too weak and susceptible to the tirades of the enemies that’s why the alpha king decided that it will be better for them to be separated.”
I gulped and felt cold air around me. He’s right. I am William’s greatest weakness just as he is to me.
“And what does that have to do with me?” I asked, still lying at his face directly. “Why should I know about that? Am I Alana? Am I his mate? Do you really think that she’s alive and she is me? Do you have a thing for this Alana, beta? Is that why you are projecting her to me?”
I saw how hard he gulped when his eyes stared at the hickey on my neck.
“I am only warning you to not use your face to seduce the alpha prince into doing what you want for your clan. You are a lycan while the alpha prince is a werewolf. Do not forget that you are just his plaything and he will leave you at any second that he wants to. Do not cling on to him when he already has a wife!”
He crossed our distance and stood a few meters from me, his eyes busy roaming around my body.
“You can have me instead. You can have the alpha prince’s beta instead. Why are you forcing yourself to be with someone married when you can have someone who’s single and available who’s willing to be with you? I don’t care if you are a prostitute or the alpha prince’s whore. I will have you. I want to have you.”
He moved his hand to touch me but I just let out a hearty laugh that made him stop.
“Why are you laughing?” he asked darkly, not appreciating the mockery tone I laced my laugh with.
“You! You really make me laugh, you know. Lucas, how can you even think that I would choose you over the alpha prince? I don’t go for second-rate individuals. I want the best person, not just someone who’s so full on his head but can’t be brave enough to not be a criminal.”
His face changed into a savage one quickly as he stalked me to the wall. “Be careful with your words, woman. You should be thankful that a man like me is willing to be a trash can for a garbage like you.”
“Lucas!” William’s dark voice cut through the silent walls. “What the hell are you saying to my woman?”
He held my hand and kissed my head and I was instantly relieved. Leaning on his shoulder, I took my time to control my breathing and hide some red tendrils showing on my face.
I was so ready to burst into a killing spree right into the beta’s eyes but it’s a good thing that William arrived.
“Do not ever say that to her ever again, you understand me?”
The beta bowed his head before his alpha but I don’t see the genuine agreement in his eyes. “Yes, alpha prince.”
“Aria is only mine. No one should touch or disrespect her ever, do you understand me?!” William reiterated again while he’s giving me the time to adjust my emotions.
“I am not disrespecting Aria, alpha prince.”
“You are,” he said in a way that his beta didn’t have the courage to talk back.
“I’m sorry, alpha prince. My apologies, Aria.”
I just buried my face deeper into William’s face to distract the build-up of heat in me.
“And also, I will be proposing to the alpha king to find a woman for you,” William continued while caressing my back. “You’re too old now and I bet you are too ready for marriage because you kept on hovering around my woman.”
“That is not my intention…” He paused for a while when it finally registered to him. “Marriage? Me? But, alpha prince!”
“Don’t worry, Lucas. Since you are my beta and you are someone that I cherish so much, I will make sure to handpick the best woman suitable for you. I already have one in my mind. She’s the best for you.”
William then wheeled me slowly to his room while caressing my head, comforting me and telling me with his action that I am always safe with him.
“Shh, it’s okay, Alana. I am here now. I will always be here for you.”
