“The alpha prince is here! I said the alpha prince is here!”

“Quick! We have to greet him!”

“Evacuate the main street and do not look him in the eyes!”

People scrambled across the streets in the middle of the entertainment district as they lined up on the sides of the establishments and greeted me with a bow.

With my head held up high and a bottle of whiskey in my hand, I walked as slowly as possible and drank from the bottle from time to time.

I am already way past my alcohol limit and my body is craving for rest already after successfully killing a few lycan from the north that tried to stir the peace.

“How could a person like him change overnight?”

“Alpha prince!” the woman bowed her head before me, trembling with fear. “It is not me! It is not me! I am not the one who said those useless words!

“I don’t care!” I pulled out a silver sword from its sheath still brimming with fresh blood that I used to cut the head of the lycans and aimed it at her neck. “I don’t want anyone to hear anyone disrespecting me, you understand me!”

She turned so pale that she lost consciousness while the man right next to her could only gulp the lump in his throat out of fear.

“Everyone here will be under my power once I assume the position of the alpha king!” I pointed the sword at the crowd who can only gasp in fear of me. “I have just come home from murdering lycans to try to protect all of you and this is what I will be getting?! Blasphemy?! Everything will change once I become the alpha king! I will teach every one of you to respect me!”

Lucas came up to me. “Alpha prince, please be calm. We don’t want to be called by your father because of this again. He already warned us once.”

I only pushed him away after throwing the sword to the ground and went on my way. He picked up the sword and my killing party followed me.

“Alpha prince, we have arrived,” Lucas, my beta, said and motioned at the brothel in front of me. “This is the most recommended place here in Roan. They said the women here are the best.”

I did not say anything and just entered inside. Women to warm my night? Nah, not this time. I’m not in the mood.

A woman is the least thing in my mind right now.

The head mistress greeted us immediately and prepared the VIP room for us. She provided all kinds of food and liquor for us to feast on.

“Alpha prince, do you want a woman too?” she asked when I stayed silent in my seat while my men are actively choosing the women from the brochures. “Do you want virgins, experienced, wives of men? You can choose anyone, alpha prince, and we will be more than happy to provide you with a quality woman of your choosing.”

I puffed out the smoke on her face and gulped my bottle in one go.

“Did I ask you for one? Did you ever hear me ask you for one?”

She blinked as her face turned red all over. “I’m sorry, alpha prince.”

“Give my men the women they wanted. I want them to enjoy this night before we go back to the palace.”

Before I go back to that hell again.

“Yes, alpha prince.”

I met Lucas’ eyes who already had two women beside him entertaining him. I don’t know when it started but I already started to trust him less and less.

The kind of bond that I had with him before is already gone. I felt like he betrayed me before but I don’t have any evidence or memory of it.

They said that I have changed drastically, that I am no longer the alpha prince they know and respected before.

For that, I don’t have anything to say because I can’t even remember the past that they are talking about.

There is something in me that I haven’t found yet. My heart is empty but I don’t know the reason. Is it because I am not able to love any woman?

My two ex-wives, Sophia and Georgia, all begged to be with me but I cannot even reciprocate any of their so-called love on me.

I felt like I lost the dearest part of myself but I cannot even tell what it is. It’s like something just died inside me and in a snap of a finger, I became like the cold ruthless man that I am now.

I sighed and looked outside the opened window of the room where I could see the parking lot of the place.

“Aria!” a servant from behind me said and ran to the woman dressed in a cap and a dirty long sleeve carrying a box of alcohol with her. “You should have called me to pick these up. I’m sure your mate will get angry once he knows that you’re out here doing errands again.”

Mate, I uttered in my head bitterly.

I have already stopped looking for mine. I don’t have a mate and I will never find mine in my whole lifetime.
