ALANA

I kept on walking back and forth inside my room worriedly waiting for William.

“Francine, will William be really okay? Will he be able to handle my father?” I broke into a sob when I remembered the look my father gave him. It was the same look he always gives me before he’s going to beat me up. “You saw how the alpha is looking at him. What if he’ll do something to him? Francine, I cannot let him hurt my mate! I should go to him now!”

“Our lady, please.” She was able to hold me close to prevent me from going to the door. “Get a hold of yourself. Do you think the alpha prince will let the alpha hurt him? Please, trust him, our lady. William is not made out of cotton. That kid is a tough man and I know he will win it against the alpha for you.”

“I have my full trust in him but I do not trust my father. Once, he tricked me into going outside only to capture me to parade me into the village people. I am afraid that he’s going to do the same thing to William.”

Francine cupped my face and took hold of my gaze. “Look at me, Alana. Please, look at me.”

Despite the tears, I managed to meet her eyes.

“Nothing will happen to the alpha prince because one, he is the alpha prince. Unless the alpha wants to be killed this instant, he will never harm William. Two, the alpha prince will never let him manipulate him because he wants to be back on your side immediately. He wants to protect you, Alana. He will never want to be separated from you.”

She brushed the stray hair off my face. “Do not think of anything, okay? Keep the faith in him no matter what.”

I nodded and tried very hard to calm myself. Francine is right. William will be back to me unharmed.

The door opened and the subject of our conversation entered the room wearing a new pair of clothes.

“William!”

I rushed towards him to check up on him. “William, are you okay?”

I inspected his face, his shoulders, his stomach, down to his legs and feet to really know if he had any wound in his body.

“Did he hurt you? Tell me everything.”

He only gently stood me up and hugged me so tight in his arms. “You will be fine, Alana. No one will hurt you, my love.”

I pushed him away to look him straight in the eyes. “William, please. I am asking you. Did my father hurt you?”

I saw Francine silently leaving the room as I waited for his answer that did not come.

“Why are you still considering him as your father, Alana?” he asked me instead. “He hurt you so much. He did so many horrible things to you. Why are you still treating him as one? Why are you so kind hearted to him?”

“Please, did he hurt you?” I kept on asking him. “Tell me where, William.”

“He was not able to do anything to me.” He dried off the tears on my face using his fingers. “He will never touch me, Alana.”

I let out a sigh. That is all that matters. William is not hurt just like what Francine assured me. Now, I can finally breathe fully.

“Thank goodness.” I kissed his hands repeatedly. “I thank the moon goddess for keeping you safe and protected.”

After a few seconds, when I calmed myself a bit, I lifted my eyes at his contorted face. “I am not kindhearted, William. I don’t think I am that kind of person. I burned Sophia’s house and whipped her like crazy…”

Memories of my father whipping me up brought another batch of tears in my eyes. “Am I turning like my father now?”

“No, no, you are not a monster, Alana.” He put a hand on my nape while the other was busy wiping my tears. “What you did to them is only right. It is very justifiable. In fact, they deserved so much more than that.”

Using both of his hands, he cupped my face and whispered something in my ear. “Alana, I want to tell you something and I hope you will listen.”

Curious about what he means, I leaned forward towards him. “What is it?”

He paused before looking at me intently. “I want you to do anything you want against them. Anything you can think of doing to them, do it.”

Confused, I can only gawk at him. “William, what are you talking about?”

His eyes turned feral and the hands around my face felt a bit heavy. “If you want to hurt them the way they have hurt you, then do it. Make it painful for them too. Let them taste the same things that they did to you, Alana. Give them the same dose of medicine they have given you. If you want to torture them, just say so because I will gladly do it with you.”

I opened my mouth to say something but all I can do is just utter his name. “Alpha prince…”

“What they did to you is beyond what a normal person can do. They are evil and the only thing we can do to punish them is to let them go through the same thing they put you through.”

He pressed his head on mine. In an instant, I felt the same feeling he is experiencing. I felt bad all over. This is the same feeling William is feeling right now and he is sharing it with me.

“Do anything you can think of. Do not worry about the consequences. I will be here to back you every single second.”

His eyes have a glint of ruthlessness which is the first time that I see him this way.

“You have my blessing,” he murmured as he captured my lips for a kiss.

I opened my mouth and let his tongue in together with a burst of emotion that I felt for the first time and I never thought that I would feel in my entire life.
