“Yes, that’s right, Alana. Excellent! That is how you do it!”

I smiled and made my last turn before the queen luna and took a final pose.

“Perfect!” She clapped her hands for me and stood up from her seat in the room where I performed ballet for her.

I heard from William that the queen luna loves to dance before she injured her feet in a battle. I don’t want to argue that I did it out of just mere curiosity because I deliberately learned it to impress her.

“Thank you, queen luna,” I said, smiling from ear to ear.

Even though William kept me in the dark from them, I have never felt being treated negatively by her. Sometimes, I felt like she has this affinity for me because I am his son’s mate.

“You must really be a fast learner to learn that routine that fast! Oh, your coda reminds me so much of when I am still dancing in the past.” She smiled and caressed my face. “Actually, I have been praying to the moon goddess all these years for William to find her mate so I could finally have someone on my side.”

She laughed and stared into my face. “And I’m glad someone as beautiful and as innocent as you is given to our family.”

I froze for a second when I remembered what Francine told me about how I looked so much like my mother. Do I remind her of her?

Do they know each other? Are they friends? Enemies?

The alpha king knows my mother before as Francine told me so is there a possibility that the queen luna knows her too.

I opened my mouth to ask her that but she already asked me something first.

“Alana, have you already shifted into your wolf? What’s her name? Did you already talk to her?”

I was caught off guard not knowing what to say. How do I even tell her that I haven’t even communicated even once with my wolf inside me?

“Yes, I did queen luna. Her name is Malaika,” I chose to lie and I hope she does not get to see through me.

“Did you already transform into her? What was Malaika like? Is she wild? Timid? Are you having a hard time taming her?”

“Not yet, queen luna. I have not yet transformed into my wolf,” I admitted in a low tone.

She stared at me worriedly before taking my hands into hers. “Not yet? But why? Alana, is my son neglecting you? Do you want me to give the two of you more time? Are you worried about Sophia and Georgia being here that is why you are having a hard time shifting? Don’t worry, child. The alpha king lets them stay here to quell their packs while the alpha king is looking for a way to not initiate another turmoil.”

The way she said it was super calming that it assured me that she is on my side.

“Queen luna, can I tell you something?” I said I was trying to be brave. “I think she will help me if I tell her the truth about my situation with William.”

“Yes, you can tell me anything, Alana.”

I took in a long sigh before opening my mouth but before I could say anything, Lucas emerged in the room and knocked on the opened door.

“Queen luna, the alpha king has been waiting for you in the backyard. He asked me to tell you that you will spend the night in the forest.”

I immediately averted my eyes when I felt a little short-breathed when he’s around. My senses became tingly especially when our eyes met.

“Oh, yes! I almost forgot about it!” The queen luna kissed my cheeks, excitement in her voice. “Alana, you can go with Lucas now. William will be coming home any minute from now. Let him walk you to your room.”

I nodded in agreement even when my heart is begging not to be with him alone. “Yes, queen luna.”

After she left, I instantly grabbed my bag and hurriedly went out of the room when Lucas caught my arm. The moment he initiated the touch, I felt butterflies in my stomach and an electricity run down my spine.

I pulled my arm from him and looked around for people that might have witnessed us.

“Please, Lucas. Don’t touch me,” I said in an almost begging tone.

I am already feeling so guilty deep inside that I get to feel these feelings with him and not with William when he is my sworn mate.

A grin broke from his mouth when he took a step towards me teasing me more. “Why? Can’t control yourself before me anymore?” He lifted his hand and touched a strand of my hair. “Come on, Alana. Stop resisting me. You cannot keep on running from me especially when my job is to be with you. The least you could do is to surrender to your fate and be with me because I will make sure that it will be so worth your time.”

“Alana?” William asked from the entrance of the door, staring at us in wonder.

Beside him is Georgia looking suspiciously at the both of us.

“William!” I pushed Lucas aside and went to him, intertwining my fingers into his hoping that this weird feeling I have with Lucas will be blown away.

And it did for a while.

“I just have to talk with Lucas, okay?” he asked for my permission after he kissed my lips causing the other two to look away in jealousy.

“S-Sure,” I said, stuttering.

Georgia stared at me and caught me wiping the sweat off my face. “What is the deal between the two of you? You look like you are about to kiss.”

“That is nonsense. I am loyal to my mate,” I muttered to convince myself and looked at the two talking seriously a few meters from us. “I should be the one asking you that. Why are you with William? Did you tell him…”

“It’s not yet the perfect time, Alana. I am still giving you time to tell him everything.”

She took out some tissue and dried off the sweat on my forehead. “If you really love the alpha prince, then you have to do what is right for his own sake. You have to ask him to reject you.”
