ALANA

I huffed out air from my nose and shook my head trying to keep my mind clear. Even when I am in my beast form, I should still be in my proper mind. I should not let my killing instincts take over.

“Alana,” William pressed his head on mine, looking at me intently in the eyes, “We can do it, okay? You can control your urge. If not, then I will always be here with you.”

I just licked her face as my way of assuring him that I am listening to him before I faced the army of lycans frothing in their mouths while William transformed into his wolf to challenge Zuleik.

William is leading his own small packs of werewolves because a big number of them went with the alpha king and queen luna who were outside the palace to conquer a big rebellion war in the northern borders.

They left the palace for William to protect.

But now it all makes sense to us that this is just a ploy by Sophia and Lucas with the lycans to seize the main seat of power.

I roared into the approaching lycans and bit their necks as they landed on my side lifeless. On the other hand, Zuleik is being defended by hordes of his wolves that William needs to shift back to his human form and slashed their heads off before transforming back to his wolf to snag the attacks of the lycan prince.

The battle is quickly turning into a very bloody one. I lost count of how many I killed already as I stared at the dead bodies lying on the ground before me.

I am bathing with their blood and I can only smell nothing but blood in the air. The moon above has turned red as wolves kill their brothers without batting an eyelash.

I am far from feeling tired. I wanted to keep going, killing anyone I saw but William’s words stayed in me.

I should be in control. I should not lose control of myself!

“Alana, you are really living up to the prophecy about you and your family.”

I snarled and threw a wolf aside to look behind me. Sophia is standing there with a very annoying grin on her face.

I can see on her face that she already knew me given my wolf’s appearance because she has already seen me transform then.

“I know you are her but I just stopped myself from believing even when every evidence is glaring back at me.” She scoffed. “It is said that your grandfather is just like you. He killed people ruthlessly without reason just like what you are doing today.”

She motioned at the mutilated bodies before me.

“Look closely at them, Alana. You did this to all of them. You killed all of them! Don’t you know they have families waiting at homes for them? Do you think all of the people in the world are like you? Alone? Orphan? Unloved?”

My vision is beginning to turn red seeing blood all over the place. I let a low howl when guilt hits me.

“Look at the alpha prince trying to face both the great warriors just to keep you safe when you are not even worthy to be saved.”

I saw William panting for breath facing both Zuleik and Lucas. He’s wounded just like the two but his face is far from being defeated.

I can see in his eyes that he doesn’t want to do this. Lucas is his only best friend, the only one who’s there beside him when he’s lonely and growing up. He told me all about that before.

“You are just a burden to the alpha prince and from living the best of his life! Because of you, he might not become the alpha king which is his ultimate dream! Is that what you want?! Do you want to isolate William from the world just like you?! You are a fucking selfish bitch, Alana! You are a fucking monster!”

I gritted my teeth as something inside me broke. The familiar feeling consumed me as I roared into the sky and went on a rampage. Running into a pack of lycans, I attacked them savagely, severing their heads, tearing them apart, until I could hear nothing but silence.

That’s right. I want nothing but silence. The world is too loud, the whip noises are making me deaf that I just want them all to stop!

“Alana! Alana, do you hear me?”

Suddenly, my initial plan of biting off the head of a werewolf was abandoned when I heard his voice.

I blinked and pushed the wolf in front of me to look for his face but I did not have to do that when he’s right beside me smiling at me.

“Alana, do not listen to them. My love, only listen to me, okay? You are not who they told you about. You know yourself. I know you. You are the purest and kindest woman I know. You are not a monster, Alana.”

Like a crying puppy, I whimpered in pain when I snapped back into reality.

But that is only for a moment because Zuleik came dashing at him and they crashed into a statue making me more agitated than usual.

“William!” I called for his name when I shifted into my human form to prevent myself from going wild again.

“Do not mind me! I can fucking handle them! I am the alpha prince, Alana! I am your strong man!”

Lucas joined in the attack against William, lighting my wrath even bigger but ever since our gazes met in that dungeon when he scooped me out from dirt, I have had my full trust upon William.

When he says something, I know he’s going to do it and he is proving it by easily subduing the two men which is something that I have to do with an annoying woman too.

With a hiss, I turned around at Sophia who has turned pale seeing how I am only focused on her now.

“No! Alana!”

She ran away but I snatched her by the leg and stomped her to the ground.

I tied a steel around her neck, legs, and arms before stabbing her both feet with a silver dagger so she would not have the strength to free herself away from me anymore.

She screamed with all her might begging me to free her but my grin only got bigger.
