There is something about her that I can’t put a name unto. There is something about that woman that I cannot forget her eyes and her sweet holy voice.

It felt like I have been talking with her for the whole of my lifetime. It felt like I knew her but I am certain as the moon above us that it’s the first time I saw her. A striking face like that is something that I cannot forget.

And I didn’t get to have her name. I sighed and tickled my tongue against the roof of my mouth.

“No worries, I will surely go back to her.”

Lucas looked at me inside the car, his face wondering what the hell I am saying. “Did you say something, alpha prince?”

I grimaced at the sound of his voice and opened the window of the car to breathe some air. I remembered being so attached to Lucas before but I guess something went wrong along the way because I sometimes had the urge to pierce his face or his chest when he was sleeping.

That is morbid and uncalled for but I really don’t like him at all. I am just keeping him because I know he’s been the one reporting things to my father.

“Lucas, if you ever find that we share the same mate. What would you do?” I asked, testing him.

He was caught off guard to my surprise. I know it’s already impossible for that to happen. I am a mate-less alpha prince and I will forever carry that shame in me. For years, I have been looking for one but I guess she was locked in a basement or has already found her mate, who is probably her husband now.

“Alpha prince, why are you suddenly asking me that?” He shifted in his seat proving that he’s uncomfortable with the topic which I am going to push on from now on seeing how it’s making him act like this.

I just hated the fact that he always seemed so calm and collected when dealing or talking with me as if he knew something with me that I didn’t.

“Just answer my question.”

He cleared his throat before replying. “I will let you have her, alpha prince. I will suppress my feelings for her because I know how long you have been waiting for her. And as your beta, it is my duty and responsibility to always walk to the side so you can walk first.”

“Really? You would do that?” I looked at him closely. “Why do I have the feeling that you will not do that? Why do I have the instinct that you will betray me for a woman, Lucas?”

I remembered the gap in my memories. “Or have you already done that already? Have you already betrayed me, Lucas?”

He gasped and blinked his eyes. That’s when the car stopped and the chauffeur opened my side of the door.

“I know you must be thinking that you could play with me because I do not remember some memories but they don’t really matter. I forgot them for a reason, to make me more beastly and I will tear you apart and into pieces once I know that you betrayed me before and are betraying me now. You understand?” I growled.

He nodded, his knuckles white from clenching. “Yes, alpha prince.”

I climbed out of the car and entered the palace with my head held up high. This is the time that my father would order the release of Francine and I have to be present to personally receive her back.

“William!” A woman called me in the hallway and ran towards me and embraced me so tight. “I am glad you are back here now.”

I pushed my ex-wife away from me and dusted off the part where she hugged me. Any touch from my ex-wives is something that I dislike particularly.

“What are you doing here?! I specifically asked you to leave and to never let me see your face ever again!” My voice thundered across the walls as Sophia’s face turned pale out of fear.

“Alpha prince, how can I do that when I am still your wife and you are my husband? I know you are treating me like an ex-wife because I left for my hometown but I am back now. I am not like Georgia who has been a coward and ran away from you and left you alone.” She caressed my arm and smiled at me. “Let’s follow what the alpha king and the queen luna want, alpha prince. Let’s give them grandbabies.”

I glared at her smiling face and felt immense hate coming up my throat for her. I do not really think that I could feel something as intense fury for someone but that is exactly what I am feeling for her now.

“Ah, so you want me to torture your father again?” I hitched her arm and laughed at her face menacingly. “What is it this time that I will cut off from his body? His arm? His leg? If you want to stay here then it means you are ready to see your father dead for good.”

She fell silent for a while before saying something.

“I heard that your parents are reinstating Francine back from the prison now. Please, do not do this, alpha prince. This is the worst thing you could do for yourself!”

“Fine. You want to be here with me then you have to suffer.”

I turned my back on her and pushed the door open to the hall.

And what is the best way to inflict pain on a woman than to bring another one? I grinned when that face of the woman in the brothel crossed my head. That would exactly be a good recipe to torment her.

“The alpha prince has arrived!” the announcer said as I faced my father, his alphas, and a woman in her wheelchair.

“Just like what I have promised you, I am bringing Francine back to you after you won that village back to our territory,” my father said but my focus is not on him anymore.

“Francine…” I murmured as I slowly walked to my wet nurse who seemed like in a vegetative state.
