The Alpha Prince's Abused Mate Chapter 94

ALANA

I slapped his hand away from me when he tried to touch my neck again. All that I am hearing now from him is making me feel so disgusted. I remembered what Francine warned me about being careful and I am more than shocked to realize that Lucas is one of those people that I should be careful with.

“You are lying! There is no way my mark from William is fading. And what are you saying that you will have a chance on me?” I scoffed to show him that I am not a bit scared or intimidated by him. In fact, I am really trying to hate him now more than ever. “No, that will never happen, Lucas. I am only for William. He will be my first and last mate. I would die first than allow a second chance mate in my lifetime.”

I raised my head even higher and fought his gaze resolutely. William and I have come a long way. I am more than willing to fight alongside him. I don’t care if everyone becomes my enemy as long as we are on each other’s side.

Lucas laughed and brushed the side of his hair as he stalked me forward while I stepped backward into the woods to avoid him. “You are only telling that now because you have no idea about what’s to come.”

He squeezed my chin and leaned his face close to me. “Once you know the consequences of being with the alpha prince, then I bet you will be the first one to run away from him. You are weak, Alana. Until now, you are still relying on the alpha prince. I wonder if you will crawl back into your own small prison once you lose him.”

Tears started filling my eyes hearing him say that. What happened to him? Why is he doing this? Was the kindness he showed me before just a pretense to get closer to me? But why?

“Lucas, why are you doing this? You are the alpha prince’s beta. You are supposed to be loyal to William. Why are you betraying your future alpha king?”

He hitched my arm and stared right into my eyes. “I cannot help this, Alana. Do you really think I want this? Who wants to betray your own friend? Because the alpha prince is mateless, I am also constricted to not find one. Who knows that he and I will share the same mate in you? From the first second that I saw you in the dungeon, I knew right away that you are my mate, Alana.”

I gulped and shoved his hand from me. No! I cannot accept this! He is not my mate! I don't have any other mate aside from William! 

I felt nothing for Lucas. In fact, I'm beginning to abhor him so how can he say that I am his mate? How could he lie outrightly? 

“You are not my mate, Lucas. There's no way you are. I felt nothing for you. The only thing I am feeling for you right now is disgust!”

I saw pain cross his eyes and I felt guilty but I cannot even bring myself to say I'm sorry. That's what I'm feeling and I need to be honest to him about it. 

He cannot be my mate! I only have William as my mate. I only have him! 

“But you cannot fight against your destiny, Alana. You are destined to have me too as your second mate after you lose William to another woman too.”

What he said caught me off guard. “Lose William to another woman? No, that is not possible! You are only lying to me!”

I walked past him to run back to the palace but he caught my hand and pushed me back to my previous position. 

“Let me go! I said let me go!” I struggled against his iron grip. “I'm going to tell William about this, about you! I'm going to tell him how you're trying to take me away from him! We promised to each other that we should not keep secrets from each other.”

 To my chagrin, Lucas just grinned. 

“Then, are you also prepared for the alpha prince to know that you are from the enemy line? If you want to hear the rejection coming straight from the alpha prince’s mouth, then by all means tell him about what I said. Tell him that I am a traitor and that I am also your mate.”

I felt like being splashed with a bucket full of ice. 

I almost forgot about my real identity, about my capability to kill.

“No secrets from each other?” Lucas laughed. “Did he even tell you that he's going to get married today? Did he even tell you about Margarette? If there were really no secrets between the two of you, then you should not be here wondering how to get away from the curse that is running in your blood.”

My tears began falling and I saw how Lucas clenched his jaws and stopped himself from comforting me. 

“He will not only lose you but he will lose a brother too. Can you handle all of that, Alana?”

A sob came out of my mouth before I covered it with my hand. 

“I guess you cannot do it, Alana. As I’ve said, you are weak. You will never be strong so if I were you, I would leave the palace and let the alpha prince marry one of the girls.”

More tears streamed down my face as his every word hit me like an arrow rendering me wounded and helpless. 

“You feel it too, right? Do not deny it. I know you are losing the connection to the alpha prince slowly. By now, you should have already transformed into your wolf given that you already found your mate but no.”

“Alana!” I heard William call on me from a distance but my feet are stuck on the ground unmoving. 

“Alana!” he called again, panic in his voice. 

I wiped the tears off my face and pushed Lucas away and ran out of the woods to William’s arms. 

“William!”

He kissed my head first before accepting all of my weight. 

How could Lucas say that I'm losing my connection with William when it feels so good to be this inside his warm embrace?

“Did everything go well?” I asked without looking up because I don’t want to see him how devastated I am right now. 

“Yes, yes. Everything is well, Alana.”

I nodded but deep inside, I was bleeding. I am trying to find out if he’s lying or not but I am really having a hard time doing so because no matter how hard I deny the things that Lucas rammed into my face, the truth remains that I felt like I am losing William in the worst way possible.
