The Alpha Prince's Abused Mate Chapter 93
ALANA
“My father is a former trusted general of the former alpha king before the current alpha king shred him into pieces in the battle to claim the throne. That is why, the alpha king is still suspicious of my father about his loyalty so my wedding with the alpha prince should happen. During that time, the current alpha princess, your mother Athena, is engaged to the lycan king and is already pregnant with you,” she revealed in one go.
My forehead creased in confusion and disbelief. What is she talking about? It’s impossible for it to happen because my father is Alpha Killian, not the lycan king she is talking about! My mother loves my father so much!
“My mother only loves one man in her whole lifetime and that is my father, Alpha Killian! You are telling me lies so I would be forced to ask William to reject me.” I inhaled sharply when my chest began constricting. “That would never happen, Georgia. I will not be separated from William no matter what happens.”
Georgia sighed and took my hands in hers “Alana, I am not an enemy here. I was just telling you the truth. I only knew about these things this afternoon because my father told me everything after I read the letter from Alpha Killian. Why do you think the alpha can do that to you? No father can imprison his daughter in the dungeon for all of her life! No father can love another man’s child more than his own except when that child reminds him of the fact that he can never have the heart of the woman he’s ever loved.”
My tears started falling out of nowhere that I had to lean to the wall to support myself when my knees felt weak. I am confused and hurt even though I don’t fully understand what she is saying.
“Alpha Killian loved the alpha princess all his life even though he knew he couldn't have her so when the war broke and the alpha king and the lycan king was killed, he took her to the mansion to be his wife without knowing that she’s already pregnant with you.”
Georgia held my face together and looked right into my eyes. “I should not be saying this to you because I know it will hurt you a lot but understand me too, Alana. I just want our pack to be saved. If I marry the prince, then the alpha king will not be so cruel on us anymore.”
I opened my mouth to tell her that I don’t believe her again but suddenly, a memory that I did not know hit me in an instant.
“Because you are not my daughter!” I heard my father shout the truth into my face. “You are the fruit of your mother’s cheating against me! Your face reminded me of the way your mother stabbed me at my back with a lowly man! Now, tell me if what I did to you is not just an act of revenge.”
I gasped while holding the side of my head. When did that happen? Why am I only remembering it now? I stepped back as sweat started to form in my face. What is that? Was that a memory or just my imagination? What is happening to me?
I looked outside the window and saw a bird on a branch chirping and another memory came flooding into my head. I accidentally touched the bird in the cage and it turned into dust. And then the scenes shifted to William hugging me to comfort me.
That made me cold all over. If I was able to kill the bird with just my touch, then I could also do the same to William.
Brimming with tears, I lifted my gaze at Georgia who’s also crying.
Is she telling the truth? Am I really toxic to William? Am I really the monster Alpha Killian described me to be.
“Alana…” she said and tried to reach out to my hand but I only yanked it away.
“No, get away from me!” I growled at her as I ran out of the door past Lucas who’s calling my name.
My head is in turmoil. I don’t know if I should believe Georgia and the memories I remembered just now because the moment I do, I will also have to let go of my dreams to be with William.
If I am really the granddaughter of the former alpha king then I am an enemy. I may be ignorant at so many things but I am familiar with hate and animosity because that’s all I ever knew in my whole life before William happened to me.
The alpha king and the queen luna can never accept the mate of their son to be from the family that they overthrew.
“Alana!”
Lucas caught my arm before I could enter the forest. I don’t even recall how I got here. My mind is in disarray because everything I learned today is overwhelming me. I thought things would start to fall into their right places after William admitted to his parents that I am his mate but no, everything just got messier from thereon.
“Alana, what are you doing? What happened?” the beta asked and held my hand.
With heavy breathing, I met his eyes and blinked hard when another wave of memories held me hostage. The way he looked at me, I remembered something. That day, when I tried to kill William, I can now remember that I smelled his scent first before an object hit my head and the rest was history.
“It’s you, Lucas,” I whispered while pointing at him. “It’s you! You are the one who triggered me to hurt William!”
But instead of denying my accusation, he just shrugged and swept my hair to the side to reveal my neck. “It’s fading,” he said and touched the mark.
I tried to push him away from me but he’s too strong for my own sake. “Get away from me, Lucas! I hate you! Why would you do that when you know how I love the alpha prince?! Are you betraying William? How could you do this?!”
“What they said is true,” he continued while staring intently at my neck. “The mark of the alpha prince on his first mate would wither and die. That means I can finally have my chance on you, Alana.”
