I pulled back my hand from his touch when I felt like I had been licked by fire. What is that? Why do I feel so intense while under his gaze and touch?

I just fell to my knees before him and bowed my head. “You are the alpha prince. You can do anything you want with me.”

I gritted my teeth when I said that not because I am disgusted by the thought of it but I am more intrigued and in awe that I am actively looking forward to what he’s going to do with me.

That is a gross thing to cross my mind given that I already have a mate who wants to get me back and marry me.

“Stand up,” he commanded me.

I did and met his eyes in the process. There was an obvious hunger in his eyes as he looked at me that I forgot for a second that I am wearing the same dress that I wore last night to ‘entertain’ him.

“You already have a mate so I know that you already have an experience on how to pleasure a man.” He flicked the strap of my dress and it fell through my shoulder down to my arm exposing a part of my cleavage to his waiting eyes.

He gazed at it and moved to caress it. I bit my lower lip and shut my eyes closed at the sensation. Even when I know I never had a man in bed and performed sexual things with anyone, it felt like it did not seem to be foreign when it comes to the alpha prince and that boggled me to the core.

Zuleik never had its way with me even when he always pushed for it in the name of being my mate but my usual reaction with his advances is rejection. Every time he forces himself on me, I always threaten him that I would reject him right away.

For some reason, that would always work with him.

I stared back at his deep-seated eyes and had come to ask myself what the hell is happening. I am definitely attracted to this man and the thought that I will be going to kill him is something that I cannot take.

For some twisted reason, even when I know that he was the one who led the killing spree in my village, I cannot seem to hate him that much no matter how hard I try to.

That word appalled me. I guess the alpha prince is really capable of using crude language in the same way that he used to impale his enemies.

“I am trying to forget someone and I will be using you to accomplish that.”

I got speechless for a few seconds because I didn't really expect him to answer me. I thought he would just tell me that it’s none of my business at all.

And the person he is trying to forget must have been the mate that Selene has told me about.

Despite deliberately erasing the memories of her, he must have still loved her in his daily life for him to order me that.

The bond they shared and the love they promised towards each other is something that a brain cannot forget.

I don't really know why but for some reason, my heart ached again and I wanted to cry to ease that pain.

“Can I ask who that person is, alpha prince? Perhaps, do you know her name?”

Before he could answer me, the door of the cabin swung open because of the wind and my attention was thrown into a middle-aged lady in a wheelchair.

At this point, I was not surprised anymore when she felt familiar to me again. In the days to come while living here in the palace, I know I will feel the same way about the people that I will be meeting here.

It’s a reality that I should begin to accept.

“Can I ask who she is?” I asked as I looked at her empty eyes.

“She’s Francine,” he answered and pushed the wheelchair towards me.

“Hi, Francine,” I greeted her while forcing myself to not cry because that would be weird.

And why would I cry for someone that I just met? Why does my heart feel like it’s being ripped into pieces as I watched how she’s trapped in this goddamn seat as her eyes smiled at me and tears started rolling down her face?

“W-Why are you crying?” I asked, stuttering to keep my emotions in check.

The alpha prince smiled at us and for the first time since I met him, I saw a glimpse of the tenderness in his eyes as he looked at Francine.

“Francine is the person who has taken care of me since I was a baby. She has an eye for good people and looking at her reaction with you, I did a really good choice of bringing you here with me in the palace, Aria. Talk to her. She loves to hear stories.”

He patted my head before walking away, a gesture that puts tears in my eyes because again and again, it felt like he had done that to me before even when I could not remember it.

It felt more of like a romantic gesture rather than just simply a thoughtless action.

I touched my chest and felt it beating wildly against its cage.

“You are making my heart beat crazily for you too and just like you, I am really wondering why that is the case, alpha prince,” I said while following his wide back as it disappeared into the deep waters in the lake.
