The Alpha Prince's Abused Mate Chapter 178
WILLIAM
We are beyond exhausted but knowing that we are fighting side by side brought so much hope to me.
Shifting together never has been this fun. Killing together the enemies was never this justifiable.
“Let me handle the back ones. Go attack the center lines!” she yelled at my back and I could only nod before shifting back into my wolf.
I am the alpha prince who oversees attacks and war plans but being commanded by Alana felt so satisfyingly good.
I just love it when she shows her alpha side to me.
Just as she ordered me, I targeted the first line of defenses while she took care of the back ones of the never-ending supply of enemies.
I am trying to get to Lucas who has that whistle in his neck that is used to control the lycans. If only I could get past these lycans and get to that fucking beta but their overwhelming number is making it hard for me to do so.
Breaking their faces, biting their necks, throwing them at the ground, and killing them with my claws as I savagely growled went on for a few hours.
I could go on for days and days at wars but knowing Alana is beside me fighting the same war that she is not used to makes me worried.
“Alana!” I called on her amidst slashing off the throat of a lycan when I noticed that she was getting distracted. “Alana!”
I called for her name again when I saw her freezing and losing her control.
“Alana, please focus now!” I screamed at her but she kept on staring at the ground as if she’s not hearing me.
And so, I leaped through the air using the lycans' heads as my platform, not minding the big bite on my leg and the constant loss of blood that I am experiencing.
“Alana!” I kept on calling for her as my heart seemed to stumble out of my chest in fear.
She’s just standing there not moving at all, her hands are trembling as her eyes begin to turn red.
Alana is losing it all right in front of my eyes like I did not promise to her and myself that I will protect her.
“Alana!” I broke the face of the lycan who was about to bite her off and carried her into my arms and jumped onto the roof of the palace.
The lycans did not waste any more time and climbed to the rooftop.
“Alana!” I tapped at her face to try to wake her up from her own curse but she is just staring at nowhere as if she is enchanted.
Looking at the approaching lycans and Alana in my arms, I had the urge to run away with her with me.
I’d rather save her and be branded as a cowardly alpha prince than risk her life because I don’t think I could ever live my life without her beside me. It is as good as dying.
With my head empty and my body exhausted from the fight, I did what I thought was right at the moment.
I angled her neck and bit her skin burying my sharp teeth deeper into her flesh at the same time that I bit my own mouth so I could give her some of my blood.
This is the way my ancestors do it. We mix our blood with our mates to transfer some of our energy to them. In our case, I don’t know how would Alana take it given that we are karmic mates but I was just too desperate that I did not have the luxury of time to think it over again and again.
The only thing in my mind right now is how to bring her back from her trance. I want my Alana back even if it will cost me everything!
Surprisingly, our blood being mixed with one another did not give any untoward incident. If any, it just made me crave for her blood more that tasted too sweet in my mouth.
“Wake up, Alana…” I said gasping for air as I clasped her face, blood dripping from my mouth and her neck.
She blinked and I know she’s back to me.
She hugged me and giggled like a child. “William, I know how to defeat them all. I just know because my wolf told me!”
I breathed a sigh of relief as I hugged her. “How? Tell me.”
“The blood… our blood together…” She fingered her neck and showed me our mixed blood together. “when mixed could really be fatal. We are karmic mates. It hurt us physically when we still have the bond mate so if we mix our blood together, then it would be a weapon against them. I thought about it. These lycans do not think with their heads. They are just being controlled. They are like zombies so if our blood can sever that control in their heads just as what you did to me then we could easily defeat them without using so much of our energy.”
I immediately nodded seeing the logic in her suggestion. “Sure, let us try that.”
Together, we bit our wrists, mixed our blood together and poured it back to our mouth as we shifted back into our wolves and bit the lycans.
Once our mixed blood gets into their system, they quickly fall back dead, proving our guess that they are just being controlled with a spell that we successfully disintegrated.
Seeing our success, Zuleik emerged from the piles of dead lycans to utter a spell.
“I am not going to let the two of you be happy. One of you will die and the other will live to remember the greatest loss of your lives!”
Afterwards, he stabbed himself and as he lay there vomiting blood, a silver came out from his body and targeted Alana.
“No! Alana!”
I instantly hugged her and jumped in the air, letting the chain narrowly miss her but not my leg that was pierced by the poison-laced chain.
“William!” Alana shrieked in terror as she caught me from falling back into the ground as I began to vomit blood and started losing my vision.
A trumpet’s sound filled the entire palace walls as I began to feel cold all over.
“Alana…” I could only utter her name when my chest began tightening.
