SOPHIA

“Daddy! Daddy!” I opened the door to my father’s office in a rush. “Daddy!”

But instead of him, it was my mother sitting on his chair reading some documents in her hand who stood up swiftly upon seeing me covered in both dirt and ash.

“Sophia, what’s wrong?” She held my shoulders and gasped when she saw how helpless I looked. “What happened to you, my princess?”

“Mommy, where is daddy?” I sobbed out loud. “Mommy, I want to see daddy! I want my daddy!”

“Tell me what happened first. Why do you look so horrible?! What happened to you?!”

My cries got louder than ever out of rage for that woman who just came back. How dare she do this to the heir of the alpha?! How dare she burn my precious house?! “That bitch Alana! She burned my house down! My precious house is instantly gone because of her!”

Minerva’s eyes widened. “What?!”

I bent my knees before her and cried my heart out. “Mommy, please help me tell daddy to put that bitch back into her cage! Mommy, she’s ruining my dreams to be the bride of the alpha prince! I needed that house for the party this weekend! My friends will laugh at me knowing that I am a daughter of an alpha and yet I don’t deliver with my promises! Mommy, help me!”

“Hush, sweetie.” She hugged me and comforted me. Ever since I was a kid, my mother promised me to give the best life there is in the world. She even told me that I will be the next queen luna because she will do everything for the alpha prince to like me so I know, she really put Alana in her place again. “Don’t worry. We will deal with that woman. We have to remind her who she is in this family and where she comes from. The alpha prince is not with her anymore and I am sure she is nothing but a servant in the castle. She was just assigned here in our town as an ambassadress because no one will take her there. I know what we are going to do now.”

My eyes lit upon hearing it. “What do we need to do, mommy?”

A smile crept up on the side of her lips that I recognized so much. After this, I know something indescribable will happen to Alana. I once saw her smile like this and the day after, Alana was paraded in the village like a monster and was thrown rocks at by the villagers.

“I know the in-charge of the communication towers. We will block the signal so she and the rest of the people with her will have no power over us.”

My heart celebrated knowing that I got to maltreat her again. “Are we going to put her back in her place, mommy?” I asked excitedly.

I cannot wait to play with her again like a cat to a rat!

She grinned and nodded in the same enthusiastic manner that I did. “Yes, baby. We are going to lock her inside that filthy place again where she rightly belongs.”

I wiped my tears and stood up. “That’s what I want to hear. I’m so excited to see her back as our mutt, mommy.”

“I am sure you will be happier to see her in a much worse condition, Sophia.”

My mouth literally fell open when I realized what she meant. I covered my mouth when I imagined the kind of horrors Alana would be experiencing. “Don’t tell me…”

“Yes, Sophia. Your guess is right.”

Both of us smiled at each other as we planned the next steps we will be taking.

Alana, just brace yourself because we will definitely be coming for you, you brat!

ALANA

“Ambassadress, Alpha Killian wants to have a word with you.”

My hand stopped moving on the computer when Lucas spoke to my side. I know why he is here. It’s because of what I did to Sophia’s house.

“Let him in.”

I closed the computer and waited for my father to come in. As always, every time I see him, I cannot help but tremble under his intense gaze because I remembered how he abused me using his own hands despite the fact that he is my father.

“I heard what you did to Sophia’s house,” he began as he narrowed my appearance behind the chair. I know that look. He can’t believe that the girl he treated as an animal in the cell would turn out to be an ambassadress. “Alana, I am sure I disciplined you enough in your room. Is it not enough or do you want me to remind you about it all over again?”

I bit my lip to prevent it from shaking as my heart started drumming fiercely in my chest.

Lucas stepped in to warn the alpha seeing how disturbed I am. “Alpha Killian, that’s enough. You are distressing the ambassadress already.”

“Am I?” the alpha spat on the floor. “But she distressed us more by coming back here and bullying us.”

I clenched my hands and tried my very best not to let my tears fall. “I…” My voice trailed off. “This is not bullying at all.”

I am just trying to get my justice. When they beat and abuse me, it’s discipline but when I fight back, it’s bullying.

“I will just let it slide because you are my daughter and I think you are sad because I let the alpha prince take you away from us, your loving family, but I am telling you not to do this again. You know your sister. She’s a very sweet girl who loves each one of us. I don’t want you to hurt her in any way, you understand me?”

I looked down in pain. Sophia is not even his own daughter and yet he’s thinking about protecting and loving her properly while he whips me barely to death just because his wife thinks I shamed them.

Why is he so unfair? Why can’t he treat us fairly?

“Please leave now, Alpha Killian,” Lucas said in a dark voice. “Do not wait for me to hurt you.”

The alpha just growled and then left the room.

“Are you okay?” Lucas lifted his hand to touch my shoulder but I quickly stood up and turned my back at him to let my tears fall.

“Y-Yes… I am okay. You may go too, Lucas.”

I heard him sigh before leaving too.

That’s when I covered my mouth and cried as silent as possible.
