“Good morning,” I greeted William with a kiss and breathed into his scent the second he opened his eyes to me.

Exhaustion is on his eyes again but I am not seeing any thoughts of surrender. He has gone to China to look for a cure but returned back with the same results.

“It’s okay,” I said and pressed my head against him. “We will be fine, baby. There is no need to dwell in bad news.”

The path before us is darker than ever with the alpha king yet to agree with the divorce between him and Sophia while Minerva is on the move against me. I heard she’s planning on seeing the queen luna to ask for a favor for what William did to her daughter.

I have no idea what it would be but I know it will be about me.

William and I both know that and sooner or later, we will have to face tougher challenges but right now, nothing can come between us from eating our breakfast together to give ourselves some sense of normalcy like before when I used to cook for him and wait for him to come home.

I made his favorite food and coffee and we had a hearty breakfast on the balcony that ended a little too good in bed.

“I don’t want to go to work now,” he said after our second round of tumbling ‘round the bed. “I just want to be inside this room and inside you.”

Giggling, I teased him even more by licking my lips but when he grinned back and leaned in for another kiss, I pushed him away before standing up and reaching for my robe.

“Go and shower now, alpha prince. The whole pack is waiting for you to assume your duties for today.

Groaning, he stood up lazily not even bothering to cover his nakedness and playfully bowed at me.

“Whatever my mate says,” he said and walked to the shower area.

I can’t help but smile widely. Warm fuzzy feeling enveloped my heart. He still treats me as his mate even when our connection as fated wolves was already severed.

He paused before going inside. “Aren’t you going to come join me? Round three?”

He winked at me as my stomach twisted into a wave of pleasure.

“Later,” I answered and bit my lower lip. “After you’re done with work, I’ll give you the most delicious sucky sucky treat ever.”

He groaned again and ran like a little boy into the bathroom. I laughed, finding him a little too adorable. I know William is still getting used to how my personality changed because of his last memory with me.

I picked up my hair tie on the floor and was about to tie my hair with it when I heard a knock on the door.

With the tie on my mouth, I opened it only to see Lucas outside looking at me as if he was bitten by a snake.

“This is the alpha prince’s room, right?” he asked and peeked a little inside to make sure.

“Yes, you are mistaken.” I took the tie from my mouth and fixed my hair with it.

I saw how he gulped hard and breathed in sharply while staring at me. “Why are you here? This is his personal quarters. No one should be staying here other than his wife.”

I opened the door wider for him. “I don’t know. He just invited me to put all of my things here with him so we could always be together.”

I secretly smiled when I saw how he clenched his hands on the sides. He must be reeling in anger inside with that.

“As you know, he’s a free man now because he already divorced that good for nothing woman so he can have any woman in his bed. It just so happened that his favorite whore is by his side now.”

I stepped aside and moved my head to the side. “You can come in, Lucas. I’m sure my honey would not mind seeing you wait for him.”

I saw how he’s checking me from behind, from Lucas’ robe around my body to the obvious mess on the bed and the smell after we had a hot sex.

I guess that was too overwhelming for him because he stayed in front of the door and did not come in.

I glanced back at him. “Right, I almost forgot. Congratulations on winning the game, Lucas. I heard you were fantastic in the games according to my honey.”

He flinched but did not peel away his eyes on me. “The alpha king will grant me a favor for winning.”

And by the sound of it, I already know what he’s going to ask.

“Oh, really?” I plastered an even bigger smile on my face and deliberately squeezed my breasts together to taunt him more. “Are you going to use that to beg yourself off from marrying William’s ex-wife?”

He just gritted his teeth and did not answer. “Why are you addressing the alpha prince casually? You are disrespecting him.”

I just shrugged. “Why are you here?”

“The queen luna wants to see the alpha prince’s whore. She’s curious about you.”

He looked at the bathroom door and then back at me. “She’s expecting you to be there now.”

He moved to grab my hand but I was quicker to step back.

“Sure, I will go but with William.”

“What?”

The water stopped and the door opened and William stepped out of the shower with only a towel around his waist.

“What is happening here?”

I ran to his side and held his arm as he whispered in my ear. “What is the reason?”

“He’s here to take me before the queen luna. She asks to see me.”

I can feel his whole body tensed up as he gently pushed me to the bathroom. “Go and take your shower. Leave this to me, okay?”

I nodded seeing the assurance on his face. “Okay.”

I did not bother to look back at Lucas and just swiftly slipped under the shower.
